I was very happy with all the work.

I responded previously on this one, but have updated information now that the problem is fixed. The garage door opener was not functioning properly as it would only open 6 inches, stop, then on pushing the button would close again. This is why we hired this company to fix the door. They came and did not work on the opener, saying the circuit board or relay was broken but they do not service Genie door openers. They did install new vinyl rollers and sold my wife a bottle of lubricant for $70 above the service call cost. My wife was present during the visit and to her knowledge, no attempt was made to reprogram the door. The company did offer to sell her a new opener for $400. As the door still was not working, my wife called Genie and told them the servicing company was certain it was a circuit board or relay problem. Genie sent a new circuit board for free (still under warranty) which includes the relay. I installed it myself and it did exactly what the old one had done. I called Genie myself and they talked me through programming it for the opening and closing distance (took about 2 minutes to do). The opener works great now. It appears the problem with the door would have been resolved if the service company had information or access to information on programming a Genie opener (a common opener). I am not pleased that they would not have recognized a potential programming problem and would then attempt to sell us a $400 opener. Perhaps I'm expecting a garage opener company to function like an automotive mechanic and have access to information on the majority of makes and models. This company is limited as far as the garage opener brands it can service. My advice is if you plant to use this company, make certain they service your brand and model of opener before paying for a service call.

I used them through a big deal on Angie's List. It turned out fine. The only thing was they didn’t keep time. I had carved out times for them to come out. He basically said that he was going to come by later, which is really hard when we already have a window and someone doesn’t keep the time window. We are just waiting the whole day. I had to leave him and then I had to go to work. I had to just shut down the whole house; I had to trust that he would be okay. That was the only thing that I didn’t really appreciate because I would have been totally happy to reschedule. I just needed advance; I could have gone to work and come back later. I had called them and said that I needed a weather strip for the garage, so they had come prepared with that. I had to pay for the weather strip and that was something I knew ahead of time. I have never used them before. As far as the company goes, they didn’t go out of the way to do anything, but at the same time they probably just did fine. In their office reception, whoever answered the phone was very friendly. I might look for another referral. I think that I would recommend them. I would feel a little unsure. A lot of these jobs, they schedule region by region, so I do understand that. The day before, once they know what path they are taking or what their route is going to be, they even give us a different time. It means a lot when they keep to that time, which says a lot about the company. It wasn’t a big deal. With regard to price, they were very comparable. I haven't compared; I probably didn’t call any other garage door company. Their punctuality was terrible. They did show up; they didn’t just honor their time. I might use them again in the future. I might look around; if not I might call them.

On time, courtius, informative. The serviceman was excellent. He suggested improvements to the door that turned out to be and do what he said they would. He installed stiffeners for support and addded strength and new rollers. I would deffinatly use this company again!!!

The repair went perfectly. The technician was delayed due to a previous job that went longer than usual, but he kept in touch with me by phone so that I knew exactly why he was not there when originally promised. Ended up being a couple of hours late.

Royce was great. He arrived within 3 hours of my initial call, quickly analyzed our problem, and solved it within another 20 minutes or so. He also did a complete tuneup of the garage door and taught me everything I need to know to take care of it in the future. I can't say I look forward to needing his services in the future, but if I do, I won't hesitate to call on him again.

My wife was present for the visit. She states the serviceman told her they do not service Genie garage door openers (ours is a Genie). They did state the problem was either a circuit board or a relay. They offered to replace the entire opener as Genie openers are, in their opinion, inferior. They did tell her the opener should be covered by the manufacturer as it is less than a year old. They replaced the rollers and sold my wife a can of lubricant which is fine as it is an old unit (other than the opener). They lubricated the other door for no extra charge. They also offered to install a part in the other garage door to increase stability given its inferior configuration which is fine, but I will decline as I think the motor is strong enough. They were on time and professional. I am disappointed with how this worked out. I believe a company that does not service a commonly sold garage door opener should make this clear to their prospective customers (e.g. "we service the following brands"). Perhaps if I had visited their website I would have seen this or if I had talked directly to the serviceman scheduling the visit instead of delegating to my wife, things would have gone better. Even if Angie's List is recommending a "deal," I should do what I've always done in the past: call the company and describe the problem and confirm they can and are willing to do what I expect them to do. Pushing the button to get a "deal," without doing some prep work, can lead to mis-communication and unfulfilled expectations.

Great, no problem, just no longer need service! Next time.

It went very well. The employees were very friendly and explained everything they were doing.

Atlas arrived when he said he would. Inspected garage door which wasn't having problems other than squeeking loudly. He made adjustments and lubed the door. He offered additional services but didn't pressure me into anything. I would use Atlas again.

I was absolutely satisfied with these guys. He came out and he was on time. He knew what he was doing. He told me a couple of options. He didn't pressure me at all. I said "We need that done and this done." He got to work. He was done in an hour. He says "Come on out and take a look." He showed me his work. Absolutely, I will use him again. He said that it will give more structural integrity. The door won't bend or bow in the middle. He cleaned up everything else. He did a good job. I spent about $200 but it's a money well-spent. I would definitely use him in the future. He's on my list.

Fast, professional, courteous.

The repairman explained in simple terms what he was doing, why he thought a certain work should be done, but left the decision to me before doing any repair work.

We were able to make the appointment right away. The gentleman called before he came to check out the garage door. He was very helpful and prompt.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. There were no extra charges. Everything went fine but on the tune up, I would have expected it to go fine too. There was no problem. Periodically you need to get to place oil or whatever that has to be done when you take a look at it so the $49 special is a good special. He was pretty good. I have had garage doors tuned up so infrequently that I assume the price is better than average.

It went well. No problems, good service, helpful, explained what they were doing. Garage door works much better now! It's quieter and smoother. We went from thinking we needed a new garage door to having our old door serviced well.

It went well and has worked properly since.

They came in and were complete with the tune-up. Offered to replace the rollers for a good price so I agreed. They were done within an hour.

He was late and I did not use them

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was great, no problem. There were additional charges because there were some things that he said would be better, and he showed me some rollers that looked kind of worn and dirty. The tune up and check up were about $40-something and then there was a charge for the equipment. It was my first time using him. I have no problem recommending him. He was on time, very efficient, did the work in good time, and he was a very pleasant person. If I had a garage door problem again, I would call them.

The quote was well over other quotes by $300-500.00 using same equipment.

When the first round of improvements didn't solve our problem, Advanced Door came back and charged us no labor for additional work. I was very impressed with the kindness of the technicians and speed of response.

Very good analysis and minimum cost for what was needed.
