Description of Work: Full furnace survive on two units and replacement pilot lights for both. Timely and efficient service. Professional and courteous.

Description of Work: I scheduled an appointment for May 27 with Scott Hale for for 21 -point AC tune. Tech showed up without a ladder, which was needed to get to the roof of 3rd floor. He said he would be back the next week. Did not show up the next week and I called Scott Hale and spoke with Claire and she said tech had not scheduled an appointment for me, and we scheduled one. On June 27, techs Justin Helmsin and Justin Sorenson came as scheduled without a ladder. When I said they would need a ladder, Justin Helmsin said they could check the A/C without a ladder and they walked out the door. They returned in less than five minutes and Justin Helmsin said my A/C was too old and that I would need to replace it. He also walked around getting into individual utility closets to check pipes for condensation and saying some of those air conditioners would also need to be replaced. I got the feeling Helmsin was not being honest with me and his main interest was in selling me an A/C, and that he was also trying to make the case for selling A/Cs to other owners. Out of curiosity, I asked for a quote and he gave me one of $3,500 - $5,000. By then I had determined he would be the last person with whom I would do business. I called Scott Hale office and spoke with Justin Sorenson and I asked if he could add freon to the A/C and he said freon costs about $200 per gallon and that it would cost about $800 to fill the reservoir and that I would be better off to replace the A/C. I called my daughter, who lives in RI, and she called Scott Hale to report my experience and spoke with Scott Sorenson. Someone was to follow up by calling me, but I did not hear from Scott Hale. Before techs for Scott Hale were here I had cold air, but after their visit, the A/C was blowing warm air. I was able to get assistance, as a senior citizen, in having a tech to come and check the A/C. He added freon and the A/C worked just fine. I will have it checked again by Manwill - at my cost - they come in the spring to check all units in my condo. | |Would I use this provider in the future? H*** No! | | |

Description of Work: I had to have my air conditioner replaced this year, IT WAS REALLY EXPENSIVE, BUT THEY EXPLAINED THAT IS THE PRICE NOW WITH THE QUALITY CONDITIONER THAT I RECEIVED. When I moved into my house the builder had just given me an cheap not so good of one with the purchase of my house. I truly think that being a single woman I get taken advantage of frequently.

Description of Work: The company had to augur (sp?)the kitchen sink pipes due to a backup in the sink and disposal. He explained everything he had to do, explained a plan B if the plan A didn't work. The first plan worked; he warned me there was a lot of sludge. The cost of the service included the Plan Membership I signed up for. I was happy with their service.

Description of Work: Inspection that I paid for went all right, I guess. Got the heater flushed (who knows how important that is) and then after the inspection I got a list of things that could possibly need work. The eye-opener was how much it was going to cost! I passed on most of them because they seemed very minor. I did, however, buy a water softener (which works fine) and had a new washer & gas dryer installed (for WAY more that it would have cost to have Best Buy do it). As it turned out, it was VERY expensive -- the people that were contracted to do the work (not the well-qualified, well-spoken technician who did the inspection) did not know what they were doing, and my washed ended up getting wrecked because the shipping bolts were not removed (first item in installation directions). After much back and forth, I still have a washer that's 5 months old and acts like one that 15 years old -- and will cost more to repair than I paid for it. Scott Hale plumbing said they'd take care of it, but have yet to make good on this promise, despite contacting them multiple times. I'd say it's dubious that this 'deal' is at all necessary -- if you do need work, you probably know it so save the money to pay a plumber for actual repairs.

Description of Work: Replaced water pressure regulator for the house and an extension on the top of the water heater and drained and check the water heater. It took some time but he got it done reasonably!

Description of Work: Came out on a Sunday afternoon to unclog a drain - excellent service at a reasonable price. I will definitely call Scott Hale Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning again.

Description of Work: Coupon was for a water heater flush and plumbing inspection. When Wes, a very nice technician, came to perform the work, he discovered the water heater actually had a bigger problem and he did not want to void the warranty I had with another plumbing company so we agreed he wouldn't do anything at that time. I have the coupon, good thru October and plan to use it sometime in the future. The water heater actually had a split in the back and needed to be replaced - under the warranty from the other company. I look forward to using my Angie's List coupon in the future!

Description of Work: I guess I don't blame them for standing me up. It was too good a deal (thirty bucks for a/c tuneup). I give them a "c" grade because most companies wouldn't consider the job worth the money.

Description of Work: I purchased the drain cleaning service from Angie's List. I live in an old house and the plumbing is just as old plus a have clay shingles and the gentleman that came to fix my drain needed to get on the roof for his auger but I didn't want to risk breaking any shingles so he ended up replacing my water pressure regulator instead. I felt he did the best he could with what I would allow and explained everything very thoroughly. I ended up buying the service plan and plan on using Scott Hale Plumbing to replace some of the old plumbing in my house.

Description of Work: Furnace check and replace filter. Repairman did an ok job, but gave me a doom and gloom story of how bad the condition my furnace was in. Since then I have had two other furnace companies look at the furnace and they did not agree with his evaluation. I believe it was a sales tactic to get me to replace the furnace. I would not use their services again!
