Scott Hale Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning

Let me start off with saying this company is very quick, punctual, and professional. It seemed every time we called them out the same guy came. He remembered us and asked us questions about what we had talked about on previous jobs. Honestly the professionalism is probably why we used them longer than we should have. The first time we ever called this company our heater was on the fritz and wouldn't turn on and maintain a constant temperature. We called out Hale and they came out the next day. They quickly diagnosed the issue and replaced the heat sensor on the furnace. That cost about $300 and we haven't had any issues with it since. A couple weeks later our kitchen sink backed up. We called out Hale to come snake the lines. They arrived on time and were very nice however they were not able to unclog the sink. They essentially said we would have to tear up the foundation and replace the pipe. That was going to cost us over $2000 minimum. We started getting quotes from other companies. Another company wanted to try snaking the drain themselves and they were successful. I don't know why Hale wasn't able to unable to unclog the drain it seems like they were just looking for the bigger job maybe. Thinking the problems with the 2nd job might have been a fluke when we started having issues with our bathroom tub drain leaking we called out Hale to fix it. Once again they came out very quick and were very nice. The plumber said there was no way to fix the drain because there was a cast iron tub that had been covered with a plastic shell. The only option we had was to remove the tub. I removed the tub and discovered the plumber was completely wrong, there was no cast iron tub with a plastic shell, the tub was just a Vikrell tub. At the point I realized the error it was already too late and the tub needed to be replaced. Also with the shower head constantly spraying even when it wasn't supposed to the plumber stated it was because the valve was installed upside down. It turns out that was wrong as well. At this point Hale has cost us over $2000 in unnecessary repairs. Their prices were also always significantly higher that almost every other company we had out.

We purchased a new furnace and AC after using an online deal for a tune-up. Initially we felt that we were rushed into making a decision the day of the tune-up. It also took 2 days rather than the same day service we discussed at the time of the tune-up. When we expressed these concerns to the company, their top concern was making things right. and they were aimed at ensuring we had quality work and a positive experience. They invited us to their office to discuss the experience with managers, salespeople, and installers. My husband and I were very impressed with the professionalism and the company's focus on providing the best service in the industry. We have since called them and will continue to rely on Hale for our plumbing, heating, and AC needs.

The service person was very knowledgeable and professional. He performed the maintenance required and provide the necessary information as part of the service. He offered information to help reduce on operation costs and maintenance in the future. Good job!!

Overall it went fine. He showed up on time. Inspected the first furnace, a 20 year old behemoth in the attic, and all was well. The newer furnace in the basement was another story. It looks to have been installed incorrectly, so wat is backfilling into the furnace and actually filling the motor. This a knew going in. I was hoping to a bit of insight and a quick fix, but he confirmed my fears, the furnace needs a new exhaust, and that's a job that includes tearing out a ceiling. Not having the time or money, I thanked him and he went of his way. He did make sure I had a quote of the cost to repair. All in all I was satisfied.

The technician was on time and very courteous. He spent a lot more time then I imagined he would going over our system. As a courtesy, he inspected the a/c as well. I would have no problem using this company again.

The service turned out fine. We had some communication issues on what services I had called in for. In the end, I got the right technician to come out and he did a good job. I have no complaints otherwise.

It turned out okay and they did a very good job. They gave me a few proposals for some repairs and it seemed a little bit higher than expected.

He put a clamp on to see how much power it was drawing. He wanted to charge me for a new AC unit. He didn't do any type of cleaning. I felt like he was trying to take advantage of me. I got a second opinion and the unit was fine.

Very well! Our service rep was on time, personable, professional, competent, and very helpful. I couldn't ask for more!

My furnace went out in November. I purchased a Reem furnace through Scott Hale plumbing and they installed it. I was not happy with the noise created by the furnace exhaust. They returned and added pipe to reduce the noise. My hot water heater and my new furnace both went out in the middle of December. They came and fixed the furnace which was under warranty and replaced my water heater in one day. They did a very nice job.

I received a call the day after I purchased the service from Scott Hale Plumbing and Heating. The appointment was set up for a couple days out. The serviceman was to call before he came. He actually called about an hour early and said he was available then and I gave him permission to come early. He was very professional and had me watch what he was doing and gave me advice on what to look for. This was a new furnace that I had installed a couple years earlier. He also told me my co detector was only good for a few years and to make sure I updated it as needed. This was news to me as I did not know they were not good for life. My mother recently had hers going off at her home and the fire department came but never told her that could be the issue so she was going to check to see if it was outdated and that was what was causing hers to go off. I also mentioned to him about the humidity and he did tell me his company put in the humidifiers for the furnace to add moisture to the air but did not try to sell it. Just said they were available. I would use this company again and refer my family and friends and neighbors to this company.

I didn't like his service because he came here for an inspection and after looking at it he told me that I needed to replace the whole air conditioning unit. He also offered me some kind of deal to replace it. He gave me a letter on what he was talking about that had a list price that included installation for the market rate at that time. Everything on my air conditioning unit worked fine, so I think he was trying to get more work and also trying to sell his product. His price was okay, but it was not really an inspection. He also came here on time and was professional.

No complaints except the cost. They were in the middle of the pack with their estimate compared with others.

They had to reschedule a couple of times, as they had customers who needed more emergency heating service. Totally understandable, given the weather, and really not inconvenient for us. When the technician arrived, he was courteous, seemed very knowledgeable, and performed the work quickly and efficiently. Gave us some good recommendations, as this is a home we recently purchased and we were not very familiar with the heating and A/C.

I did set up an appointment to have my furnace serviced and the day of the appointment the company called to ask if it would be alright if they came on a later date as they had an emergency that they needed to take care or. I was okay with that since my furnace was working fine at that time. Service person came on the newly arranged date and took care of the service on my furnace. He did say that the heat sensor was getting worn and should probably be replaced at a cost of about $110.00. I had never heard that this part sometimes needs replacing. He said he could try cleaning it and it may last for the remainder of this season. I hope that will be the case. The furnace is about 10 years old. Service was performed satisfactorily.

He came in, did the tune up, recommended parts, told me about their other services and that was it - very quick and efficient.

The plumber from Scott Hale arrived at the appointed time and performed the agreed upon work promptly. He then inspected the plumbing throughout the house and pointed out potential problems, and gave me the approximate cost of fixing these problems. He never pressured me into having the additional work done immediately. He did a good job and pointed out several potential problems.

I ordered three furnace check ups from the promotion they had going on. Because of the popularity of the promotion , they weren't able to come out for about 2 weeks. The day before the check ups, I called to confirm they were still coming out. The service rep said that they had a last minute emergency occur and that we'd have to reschedule. I was okay with that but it makes me wonder if they would have called me to let me know we needed to reschedule or if they would have just left me waiting. They were kind and apologetic and we arranged for the service check ups the next week. They followed up with a phone call afterwards and let me know how everything looked.

Good service, but bit expensive even with offered discounts.

It went pretty well. They did a good job.

It was Thanksgiving and the main line leading from the home started backing-up. I called the company and they sent a serviceman right away. Given that it was a holiday, I was very thankful for their prompt response. After the bad news was rendered (confirmed by sewer line camera), I scheduled the service for the next Monday. On that Monday, the lead plumber said the ground was too sandy (after partially digging up the driveway) and that it would be more expensive to replace the driveway than to drill into the old line and create an epoxy liner. At the end of the repair, the line now works very well; however, the cement work was less than stellar. This was hired out to a subcontractor, and not provided directly by the plumber. Overall, the repair was needed. In my opinion, the cost was significant and the cement work was not up to par with the rest of the work that was performed.

Overall, very good experience. The only down side is that they try to sign you up for the monthly service. I did. They said rep. from the company will call me to setup and appointment for annual check up, but they did not do it yet after 4 weeks. UPDATE: I got a call from the company and they scheduled an appointment for annual check up. Technician arrived on time, checked all the equipment, replaced some filters, noted and fixed a couple of issues. Did not charge a penny. Great service again!!!

The were nice and professional but needed more training when it comes to writing up the bill for Angie's list members.
