"Scheduled a date for removal of trees and they show up 4 days early to do the job without any notification. Did a great job removing the trees and cleanup but failed in poisoning the stumps, I have trees growing everywhere and the stump grinder in the contract has failed to show up for their part. No responses to my calls and email to come and finish their contract. Got their money and that's all that was important to them!"

You can either ask your local building department or a tree removal professional if you’ll need a permit. If you do, you can expect to pay between $50 and $150 for the permit alone. Your tree removal company should pull the permit for you and include the permit fee in your total.

As a general rule, the protected area should be about 1½ times as wide as the canopy of the tree’s leaves. This digging measurement can vary by tree species and the age of the tree.
