We?re really unhappy with the fact that we hired this company. It was impossible to communicate with them - we never had any idea when they were going to show up, and they often came along several hours or even days after they said they would be there. (Example 1: they were supposed to start on Saturday, Sep. 18, when we could have let them in without having to rearrange our schedules, but they didn?t show up that day. Instead, they came on Monday, Sep. 20, when my husband and I absolutely could not be at the house with them, so my mother-in-law had to let them in. My husband and I didn?t get a chance to meet the crew or look at the wood finish options - end result, we?re not in love with the color of our floors. Example 2: on Tuesday, Sep. 21, the installers were supposed to arrive at 8:30 am. At 11, I called the office to ask for an ETA, and the secretary said she?d get back to me in a few minutes. I never heard from her again, so I left at 1:30 pm, only to have someone else from the office call at 2:40 to insist that I go back to the house and let in the installers. It was a mess.) This company is SO hard to communicate with. You can still make it work with them if at least one person in your household has an extremely flexible schedule, but if all of the adults work, go to school, or take care of children, forget about it. We?re pleased with the workmanship itself (our wooden floors are really smooth now), but like I said, we don?t really love the color of the finish, mostly because we didn?t have a chance to have a conversation with the installers about what we wanted. Honestly, I wouldn?t recommend this company to anyone.

This company was amazing to work with. From bid to completion, they were prompt, professional and very well managed. Paul estimated the job. He showed up on time, and quickly sent a competitive bid. He worked with me on the materials, and personally showed me some samples in their warehouse. Tara was the project manager. She contacted me beforehand to confirm the details, and run through the schedule with me. Alex was the installer. He showed up on time, and gave me an alert when he was on his way. They planned two days for the job, but he finished it in one day. The floor looks amazing. Thanks ??

The the tear off man put a hole in the drywall Not happy about that. The installation process went well he stayed late to finish the installation. Then he came back to calk along the tub. All in all a job well done except for the hole in the wall. That still needs a repair done on it, but they don't do drywall.

This is a small company with talented installers. My floor is beautiful! I recommend you only pay half up front.

I really wanted to leave a good review. Paul Turpin was very helpful even bringing me a sample board so I could match fabric for a custom-made couch. The installer and demo did a great job. The problem comes from business practices. The floor was not finished because of some defective pieces. I had to pay for a whole new box. I just imagined a good business would take care of this at no cost to me as I was in no way responsible for the damage to the tile. The final payment was posted to my bank account before the job was done. It was in the contract that the payment would be taken at installation. I was under the impression that this would be after the installation was finished and approved as in most businesses. I have never had to pay the final payment for any contracted work until it was completed. Silly me thinking all businesses did this.

Utah Flooring and Design began work installing an oak wood floor in our home almost a month ago. From the beginning they did not show up as scheduled. Initially, they did not have enough wood for the delivery. Then they did not deliver enough wood and tried to charge us for more wood (at a much higher price) because they said that they had measured wrong. The originial measurement was correct . When the floor finally was laid down, many pieces of the wood had holes in it, had broken corners or saw marks, or were split. The filler that was used to patch the flooring did not match the wood. The result was disapointing and certainly not worth the $6000 we had contracted to pay for it. Since no one would answer our texts or phone calls, we drove to the Midvale office and convinced an employee there to send someone out to look at the floor. When the installer came back to mark the inferior pieces of wood, he said there was so many bad pieces that the whole floor would need to be replaced. We still have not resolved the issue. We had paid 50% down when we contracted with the company. They charged our credit card for the rest of the project on the day that they began the installation. We have disputed the credit card charge until the issue is resolved. Unfortunately, Amy, our project manager, does not answer our phone calls or texts. In the meantime, we have lived without our main living area since the middle of July.

They have difficulty meeting time commitments.

Hired them again! First the floor upstairs and they did so good we hired them for the flooring in our kitchen. Now we hired them to replace our countertops with Quartzite. It looks amazing! They had to remove our old countertop and they were able to do it without hurting the tile backsplash even though it was on multiple sides of the counter. I can't say what a relief that was. Our home is a totally different place. It was so scary to make so many changes but they put a team together to help. Our Team: Paul (sales) was so fast to find us exactly what we wanted. Tara (Project Manager) coordinating a lot go make it happen! Sam / Salvador (installers) genius as I said and flawless work! Would hire these guys easily on our next project.

Cameron the salesman, and Steven and Skyler, the installers were very knowledgeable, hard workers, and did a great job. This was a difficult, complicated flooring project (had tile previously) and they were able to handle the flooring install very well. There was some confusion about the delivery of the materials, and we thought the project would be delayed, by the project managers Amy and Ali were able to rearrange schedules, got the flooring delivered in time and the floor looks great. Great value for this project!

They took the remainder of the total job before the job was complete, I did not like that, also had too many calls from the office that did not amount to anything, when I told her she talks too much, she laughed.

We needed to schedule an additional trip due to some drama with the company that provided the carpet. I left a message and have never received a reply.

I was hopeful at first. The guy that came out to do the site survey and give me my quote was good, arrived on time and got us all set up. We selected our carpet and padding, and paid to have some concrete grinding and patching done to the floor before installation. Day of install comes and the carpet guy shows up to lay down the right carpet, but with the wrong padding, and before the concrete work was done. After an hour of this guy and his team standing around, we finally get a hold of his project manager to sort it out. She reschedules the work for a few days later. That day comes, and concrete team never shows, no call or update or anything. After another hour of trying to get a hold of the PM, she says she will have one guy come out do both the concrete work and carpet in one day. Like... What? Aside from the fact that it's one guy, doing it all in one day is just asinine. The patch material needs time to set and dry. It's clear at this point that they're just going to half-ass the work to get me off their plate. At this point I ask for a refund, they say "we've already cut your carpet for your install". So I agree to keep the materials, but get a refund for the labor. The materials were fine, and after they got me the right padding, they were actually what I paid for. Unfortunately the issues don't stop there. Days later I reach out to ask about my refund, after no communication besides and email saying "your work is complete". I get no response back, but a refund receipt which is $100 dollars short. I kept the materials, so there should be no restocking fee, (I actually read the contract and ToS) and it's not the right amount for that anyways. My best guess is that someone can't carry a one when doing basic math. Still trying to get that corrected, but honestly may just let it go to not have to deal with them further. Though another part of me really doesn't want to compensate them any further for their complete lack of competence.

Floors overall look great, but they left some gaps and lots of glue on the floors and they left lots garbage on my property

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! I AM WARNING YOU!! I WENT THROUGH HOME ADVISORS AND THIS COMPANY, ALSO KNOWN AS UTAH FLOOR COVERINGS, IS HORRIBLE. I HAD THEM INSTALL LVP ON MY ENTIRE FIRST FLOOR LAST YEAR. THEY PROMISED ME A DATE AS I HAD TO BE OUT OF THE HOUSE I SOLD AND INTO THE NEW HOUSE WE HAD DEMOED. THEY PROMISED TO HAVE IT IN 1 WEEK BEFORE THE MOVERS CAME. IT WAS A LIE. IT NEVER EVEN SHIPPED. LONG STORY SHORT, THE MOVERS HAD TO HOLD MY MAIN FLOOR FURNITURE UNTIL THE FLOORING WAS COMPLETED. EMAILS WERE SENT EXPLAINING THE CHARGES THIS CO. WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO HOLD MY FURNITURE. THEY DID PAY THE MOVING COMPANY ALMOST $600 AND THEN TURNED AROUND AND TOOK IT OUT OF MY VISA...TWICE. OWNER, JASON, SAID IF I DISPUTE THE CHARGE, HE WOULD SLAP A GD LEIN ON MY HOUSE FIRST THING IN THE MORNING NICE GUY...ANYWAY, AFTER MANY MONTHS, THEY ENDED UP EATING THE CHARGE, I GOT MY MONEY BACK. THEY ARE AWFUL PEOPLE! THEY WILL TELL YOU ANYTHING TO GET YOUR BUSINESS AND THEN..... GOOD LUCK!

Did a good job very professional

Very respectful of me and my home. Efficient and professional. My wood floors are gorgeous.

I had a wood plank with a drilled hole in it (for electrical wires) that now showed due to moving an island. They found a new wood plank and replace the one with the hole, in addition to sanding, staining, and sealing our floor. They did a beautiful job.

This company has no integrity the owner informed me he could not keep tabs on all the jobs his company does We hired them in December of 2020 to replace less than 300 square feet of wood flooring in our basement that was damaged. They sent out 3 different people to get a wood sample to match the wood and took the wrong sample twice even after specific instructions on where to get the sample from. They kept telling us they could not get the wood in and our job was delayed until May of 2021 we asked them about the Demo of the old wood and they chose to wait until they could do the install which left the underlayment in wet conditions requiring us to replace the underlayment when if they had done the demo when asked it could have been dried and saved this increased the cost of our job by $900 which they were told we would submit that to the insurance for payment yet the owner decided to charge our card which they had on file from when we paid the initial down payment for the Job. If you read other reviews you will see them charging your credit card like this is a common practice, We had to fight to get this refunded. They started the install in May and did not have enough wood to finish the job so had to come back June 1st to finish the job which they now claim is complete however they severely damaged our baseboards lost other pieces of baseboard their contract says the owner is responsible to touch up paint and caulk baseboards at the completion of the job but they take no responsibility for huge chunks of baseboard missing and complete missing pieces they also left a sheet and 3/4 of wood underlayment in our garage that they over bought and did not need but charged me for they have generously offered to come pick it up next week but will not credit the cost of it back to us. They left a huge box of trash in our driveway and empty cans and candy wrappers in our windowsills and on the shelves in our basement that we had to clean up. I challenge the owner of the company to come to my house to see the job that was done and review the pictures of the mess they left and if he can say that would be acceptable in his home then I will remove this review. I have very little faith that he will even give this review a second thought as he can not keep tabs on every job his company does. This job has been a nightmare and they have been impossible to work with and care very little about their customers please do not do business with them.

In the beginning, it was fantastic. The salesman was nice and knowledgeable, the demo guys came on time and cleaned up after themselves, and were super courteous. After that, it was ridiculous. The installers never came when they said they would, the product was constantly missing. A project that we had 3 days set aside to install has now taken 2 weeks and we are still missing parts for our stairs. The communication is horrible. If they begin using new installers I would recommend them but until then it is not worth it. Update: we have had these floors now for 3 years and they are falling apart. They are lifting and breaking off in places. Absolutely horrible product and installation. Would never recommend or use them again.

They were fast, on time and did a great job! Very pleased! Great communicators too! I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Absolutely Perfect Job Well Done. This was a tile countertop project. JC who installed my project with Utah Flooring and Design was amazing and had the job done in 3 days time. I would highly recommend this contractor for anyone needing any type of flooring, or countertops.
