The workers were friendly and were fast with their work. They did a very professional job very quickly and I was very happy on how well the carpet was pulled and laid. I would recommend them to anyone who needed carpet installed. Great job!

I hired the company after being sold and promised a floor and baseboards of better quality than I had. While the product quality met expectations, installation was a problem. First, the salesman disappeared and could not be reached once the company was paid. Warning to prospective customers, once money is paid customer service suffers. The Salesman handed the project over to my project manager Amy. Amy went on an extended vacation leaving the project in pieces. I begrudge no one a vacation, but ensure your customers and their projects are taken care of before you go. There was no replacement project manager. Vinyl install and demo were crazy. The vinyl installer showed up without tools. The Demo team damaged two walls and my bullnose corners were damaged and required repairs. I had to do the repairs because they couldnâ t. The laminate went in ok, but stairs werenâ t caulked in properly. I was told by several Utah Floor and Design technicians that the customer was supposed to caulk in the wood. My contract said I paid for finish installation of baseboards and trim. Friends that had had floors done were shocked that the wood wasnâ t caulked. Utah Floors and Design did not do caulk the floor, stairs, baseboards or trim. With no project manager or salesman to reach out to, Iâ m stuck finishing this project tomorrow. The baseboard carpentry was badly accomplished. I had to contact the company and complain. They sent a manager over who walked the house, shaking his head and asked who the carpenter was. He finished most of the work and fixed mistakes. In the end, however, the job is a â Câ at best. The caulk free baseboards and stairs look unfinished and amateur. The floor is quite nice, but there are areas I will need to correct, even though I believe they were part of the contract. The kitchen counters have a 1/4 inch gap between the floor and the cabinets, no 1/4 round was purchased or installed. The demolition was a â Câ , damage to the walls and corners. The vinyl installation was a â B+â they eventually got it done well. The laminate installation was an â A-â stairs could have been better. The baseboard carpenter was a â Dâ . Had to be fixed by manager. Finish, caulking and 1/4 round, â Fâ . Not done. Lastly, communication with customer, F-. This appears to be a corporate issue. There appears to be plenty of flooring projects right now. If you hire this company, you will be on your own. Good luck

Slow to complete the job, the installation took 10 days then a full month to get them back to fix all the problems with the installation not being properly installed. Once they sent out their product manager to clean it up it looks great., Do your homework on the product you select and make sure they have a qualified installation crew. The original installer was a very nice person and went out of his way to help but apparently he did not now this specific product and it took him coming back twice and then the product manager to clean up the job. I will give them this they did finally get it right, it just was a pain to camp in our house for a full month. We are crossing our fingers it all stays together and we don t have any water damages in the future.

Work was not done as scheduled. A no show on day 1. Installers were pulled off my job to complete other jobs. Project managers were difficult to contact, and dishonest. The actual installation of my hardwood floor by Corey was very good.

The employees and contractors of Utah Flooring & Design are very professional. They were able to communicate with me in a clear and respectful way which has always been an issue when dealing with previous companies and contractors. Paul Turpin was very good at coordinating the project with only a couple of minor hiccups. Oscar Videz did a wonderful job and was so friendly and respectful. He made sure he understood what I wanted and that is what is most important to me. I will recommend Utah Flooring & Design to anyone who is looking for a good experience and want the work to be done as they want it to be.

It seems like they sent out two untrained and inexperienced people to do the repair job. They spent at least two hours on a small project. The day after they left, the tile started peeling up. The coving was also not even glued or nailed down. I called the installers and the company several times hoping they could come out and fix the issues. The installers said they would come out but no-showed on the scheduled date. The company asked me to send in pictures, which I did. After that I could never get through to the customer service department and they would not call me back. I finally filed a dispute with my credit card company.

Everything so far has been great but be sure to be home when they bring materials. One guy urinated in a toilet that was not attached and set my demo back while waiting for the floor to dry. Then I paid to paint the area to kill the smell in the subfloor. Good price and customer service overall.

Before I get into details, I will say that the installation job on our project is phenomenal. The attention to detail and the quality of the installation is top-notch. The flooring looks amazing and we are quite happy with the result. I would recommend this company simply for the quality of their work. That said, we did have several issues with this company throughout our project: 1) They have horrible customer service. Non-communicative, never answers phones, hard to get ahold of. 2) They under-measured our project by 250 sq ft and then charged us for the extra product even though it was their mistake. They did give a five hundred dollar discount, but it was still a hefty unexpected charge even with the discount. 3) They tried to charge us extra for flooring leveling cement which was supposed to be included in our project. 4) We choose a flooring product that we loved, and then after we paid our initial deposit, and the demolition of our existing floor had already begun, they switched the flooring product on us to a lesser product without talking to us about it. The contractor on our job brought it to our attention, and then we ended up having to pick a new flooring product which we feel was a lesser product, for nearly the same cost because the original product we chose was somehow out of stock and discontinued. It seemed very much like a bait and switch tactic. 5) Their computer system was hacked, which sent me a malware email that I unwittingly clicked on thinking it was from them and had to spend 3 hours on the phone with Apple Support to fix the damage, and change all my account logins and passwords because it hacked my computer. 6) They charged my credit card in incremental amounts for the balance due without asking my permission to charge my card, and never explained that it would be an automatic charge. 7) Our project manager Amy was supposed to communicate with us throughout our project, but we felt uninformed and in the dark throughout our entire project. 8) The delivery of our flooring product was delayed and they failed to communicate with us about it, leaving our contractor sitting around waiting for them to show up, after hours, only to find out that they were not coming. 9) The delivery of the remaining 250 sq ft that they had to order arrived late, and they only let it acclimate for a half-day before installation. All that said, even with those issues, the quality of the work speaks for itself, and that truly is the most important thing when all is said and done. I would recommend this company simply for the quality of their work.

Chris Trease is an EXCELLENT Design Consultant. He provided 3 bid options. When I chose Utah Flooring and Design, he left carpet samples with me as I had severely injured my back and could not get to the downstairs apartment where we needed to replace carpeting due to severe damage by renters. He helped me choose the type of carpeting I wanted during the consultation on May 29 but I could not make the color choice because of the above. Chris did not rush me to make a decision about the color. I was finally able to get downstairs late in the afternoon of June 1, after a second chiropractic treatment. Chris ordered the carpet that evening and it was installed on June 11. The installers were FABULOUS. The only reason I gave a 4.5 instead if a 5 for customer service is because I was not informed of a later arrival time than the one I expected. I called Chris and he took care of it and the installers made up for the difference. The individual who forgot to call me about the time change DID APOLOGIZE and ADMIT her MISTAKE, so I APPRECIATE that SHE TOOK OWNERSHIP. As a small business owner myself, that meant a great deal to me. I highly recommend Utah Flooring and Design for the integrity of their employees and their hard working, pleasant, funny installers. They made me laugh on a VERY HARD DAY!! Thank you so much Chris, we HOPE to be working with you again in the future. Glynneth B. Orem, Utah

Do NOT use this company. Utah Flooring and Design provides a really beautiful product. I am talking about the actual floors. The process to get them in place however, is the worst. My project was a 400 square foot job. We scheduled 3 days **just in case**. The job took 1 week, including a weekend without a toilet or ANY communication about a plan. One week later, my floors are installed but the toilet was never sealed and the baseboards are not up to the standard I was expecting. They have little to no communication or time management skills. Any communication I did get from the project manager was usually after I called and left messages on every number I could find associated with this company. Day 1, I got a message stating someone was on their way at 10AM - they never showed up and they never contacted me to let me know they were not coming. Only after contacting the sales rep did I get any communication that they would not be making it out. I planned on being home on this day and it was completely wasted. Day 2, someone was allegedly en route at 10AM, but they did not show up until noon. The project was very clear, demo the main floor. After 4 hours of work, they demoed the tile, but left before pulling the carpet out. I sent multiple messages to the demo crew and the project manager asking what was going on and did not get any response. Day 3, I was told both the installer and the demo would be on site by 10 AM. The demo team showed up at 11AM to finish the job they left undone from the day before the demo guy stated it must have slipped his mind that they were supposed to pull out the carpet. The installers showed up around 12:30 and worked until 5PM. The product they were able to lay down was laid incorrectly and the floor seams were not flush. They told me they were leaving and only the base boards needed to be installed. When I got home, I found my bathroom incomplete (they ran out of product), the toilet in another room and my water turned off. NO COMMUNICATION about these little details. Of course, it was after 4PM so all phones were turned off and there was no communication at all for an entire weekend. Day 6 - I text the project manager AND her boss at 6:45 in the morning asking for communication about the plan. I finally got a phone call at 10AM stating someone was on the way. That someone did not show up until 4PM. He stayed until 8PM but again, the job was not done. He said he would be at my house by 8:15 the next morning to complete the baseboards and get the toilet resealed. Day 7, Installer finally showed up at 11AM, worked for an hour, left for two hours to another job and then returned to FINALLY complete the job. He ran out of baseboards and sent my boyfriend to a famous home appliance store to pick up more - it does not match, but its close enough â Iâ m learning to pick my battles or I fear that this job will never be complete. Every day through this process IF I was told a specific time someone would be arriving, it was NEVER accurate â even if you allow a two hour window for flexibility. I wasted at least 5 hours every day waiting around and sending texts asking for updates. I had to use unscheduled absence time at work because I was waiting for these jerks to come and complete a job that shouldâ ve been done in 2 days but took 7. While the floors are beautiful, the finishing details are subpar and do not look anything like a job that was billed at almost $4,000. Unfortunately, I get the impression that bad feedback is nothing new to Utah Flooring and Design and they really donâ t seem to care. The project manager has not tried to contact me at all to discuss this project, even after sending her multiple texts asking her to contact me so we can discuss the remainder of the bill. Please believe all the bad reviews, I wish I would have.
