PEHRSON'S POWER EQUIPMENT

I'll take my mower there for tuneups and repairs from now on.

About a half-hour into the 1st use following the tune-up, the snow blower quit. Could not get it started. Stopped in at the dealer, and Pehrson's said the problem "absolutely had to be water in the carburetor from using gas with ethanol" and a fix could cost more, maybe quite a bit more, than the tune-up. I pointed out I've been using gas-with-ethanol for many years. Got little reaction to that. I did not detect a lot of interest in the situation except that I could leave the blower with Perhson's and hope the $ damage wasn't too great. I chose not to do that. I emailed them a couple of days later with another question or two and have heard exactly nothing. The Toro owners' manual indicates gas-with-ethanol is OK as long as it does not exceed 10%, which was the case. Contacted another repair shop with A ratings galore; they replaced the "very poor quality" spark plug that was the problem. So much for the $90 tune-up.

Dropped lawnmower off at closing time on Sat. Was called the next Wed when it was ready to pick up. All went well, very professional.

I hit a big root with my mower. I called. They did a tentative diagnosis over the phone, then confirmed it in person. I'd bent the crankshaft, totaling the mower. After 10 years on a cheap mower, not too bad.

The repair work was done great and it works fantastic. They are trustworthy and I have no problem relying on the fact that they will be able to handle my power tool repair issues. The only negative thing I have to say is that they dropped the ball as far as being responsive. I had to contact them to get my tool back as they never gave me a call to tell me that the work was complete.
