Hard to tell if some of these companies are the same. Mountain West Service Experts installed my new furnace a few years ago and it went well. Recently AC quit working. I called who I thought was the same co to check my AC a few weeks ago. Same logo, still called Service Experts, sales assoc Rustyn Smith. My Uncle is an AC expert in Ohio. Asked him for advice. He suggested a service call. Service Experts came next day. Told me I needed new capacitors that they could not get until next day for $600 total but recommended a new condenser unit at $6500 to $11000. I knew that was nonsense. Called another - Black Diamond Experts. They quoted $4200 for 16SEER to $5500 for 18SEER for new condenser, A coil, piping, freon, etc - much more professional, objective and I'd recommend if you're in this situation. Called my uncle back, bought new capacitors for $50 and installed myself in 30 minutes. Only value in MW Service Experts $89 service call was to tell me the compressor was likely ok. AC has been working fine for several weeks now. Always get three quotes or fix it yourself. Most household appliances have been designed and made the same for 30 to 50 years now and are very similar in design and made for ease of repair. Try to fix it yourself! Youtube is also very handy for tips. AC condenser (outside unit) minor repairs are easy. If you have to start dealing with coolant/freon leaks, hire a pro. If you have to deal with gas lines (furnace) hire a pro. Always get three or more quotes.

It went very well. We've used Service Experts for years now. They have always been good to work with, prompt, fairly reasonable in price, and to get the job done!

All went well. They installed our furnace a few years ago and I've been very satisfied.

The technician showed up with a second guy whose sole job seemed to be high pressure sales to get me to replace my furnace and AC. After the second guy left the technician also spent a lot of time also trying to get me to replace my furnace and AC. I told him to just replace the blower and signed up for two pre-paid maintenance visits to receive a discount on the blower motor. The blower was replaced quickly and has worked well for the last 6 months. The technician that did the first maintenance visit was professional and diagnosed the problem my Nest had been warning me about. 6 months later I got the second maintenance done. As far as I know, the technician did a fine job. Seemed much less experienced than the one that did my furnace visit. A second person showed up and I expected another round of high pressure sales but he went straight to helping the first technician. No sales pitch this visit. After they left, however, I noticed something that really rubbed me the wrong way. There were stickers from previous HVAC companies (the two companies that installed the furnace and AC). They had carefully scraped away just the part of the stickers that identified these companies (the names and contact information). I had no intention of contacting these companies. I'd never done business with them (the previous homeowner did) but still, it was a very petty act of vandalism and completely unnecessary since they already had my business.

Christian was excellent. He explained what he was doing every step of the way and invited me to come with him as he performed the diagnostics and repair work. I would definitely recommend this company.

Fine. On contract for regular maintenance so we don't forget to do the yearly work.

It went well. We have used them for years & have appreciated their prompt & kind service. We didn't pay anything for this service, because we are on a very affordable monthly plan with them. We get two yearly checkup appointments & aren't charged the overtime rate if we need to call on weekends/evenings/holidays, which is a really wonderful thing!!

The pilot light kept going out. They replaced it.

Two service men arrived on time and were reasonably professional. They initiated the water softening cycle and it started up. It started through a cycle. They coached me on the various buttons and discussed what was happening. However, there was no improvement in the results. Perhaps the salt had bridged, preventing progress, or something was going on that prevented softening the water. Since the cycle takes about 1 1/2 hours, the lead service person left his phone number and I called him to report no result. He acknowledged that something else may be wrong, but offered no other help. I still have no resultant water softening; they did the service call, but no discernible result, or recommendation

It was good. It was done immediately after the purchase. Because my water heater is fairly new, there were some of things included in the deal that were not done. I understand. I would have felt comfortable if he had done that.

We decided to go with an Amana System.

They arrived when at the appointed time and completed the work quickly and efficiently. They also provided some advice to help us in the future and did a great job overall.

It was ok. The provider agreed to a time after work, then called and tried to move the time to an earlier hour, which didn't work. Even after that, he showed up early. He didn't do much except tell me that I need a new water heater. The estimate for the water heater seemed high.

He fixed the issues and explained what was done, very pleased with the service.

Extremely well - A+ service! The technician, Christian, was very knowledgeable about HVAC equipment. Upon arrival, he wasted no time and set about to remedy our hot situation. He diagnosed the problem within minutes after arrival and replaced the faulty capacitor in no time. While he was waiting to see if the capacitor was functioning properly, he did a full inspection on the HVAC unit to make sure it was in proper running condition (no other problems). I then asked Christian if he would inspect my other HVAC unit as I had mentioned that there was excess water leaking out of it and was considering servicing it. He was just going to diagnose the problem but then found that the excess water was due to a clogged pvc drain. He removed the dead mouse and other blockage so the water started draining properly again. Problem solved! This made a huge impression on me as we had had this unit serviced just last year and the technician from that company never even inspected that section of the HVAC. I am very impressed with Mountainwest Service Experts and want to thank them for sending Christian to my home. He allowed me to follow him around as he performed the service and patiently answered all my questions as he performed the service. I will definitely hire Mountainwest Service Experts again the next time we need service!

It did not go. We had someone willing to come out and take a look at the project, but never heard back from him again regarding a quote. He did not seem interested in helping us with our project at all, and I wish he would have just said "can't help you" not "I'll call you", because he didn't.

I furnace broke down two months after they had inspected it and said it was fine. The inspection was not helpful to us at all.

We had 5 bids on this job and I was amazed at the variation in price and comments on what could and couldn't be done in our home. The salesman, John, from Service Experts did the most thorough evaluation of our home of any of them, and was also confident that his crew could correctly vent a 98% efficiency furnace given existing constraints. He did the best job at explaining our options and details of the installation. While this was not the cheapest bid we received, we believed that we would get the best installation. He claimed that they have many long time employees who are paid better than most other contractors, and that they are all trained and certified. We were anxious to get the job done before leaving town, and he made some calls and got us scheduled for the next day. A crew of 8 showed up, on time, and installed 2 furnaces and an air conditioner (during a winter storm), within 8 hours. They were professional and courteous. They explained everything about the installation and operation of the system. We were very impressed with the professionalism and quality of work by this company and will use them again.

When I made the appointment, I was given a 2-hr time window. After the time window passed I called Mountainwest to see if the technician was nearby. They told me that he was "stuck" at another job and would be an hour late. The technician called when he was on his way. He apologized for being late and said that Mountainwest had just called him to come do the service because they had forgotten my call until I called them to check in. Once there (1.25 hours after the conclusion of my time block), the technician was excellent. He was quick and efficient, but also provided me with education on how to maintain my garbage disposal and prevent future clogs. I had a coupon for a free service call with repair, so the $89 service fee was waived.

At first I only scheduled to have my furnace for a bi-annual inspection on Friday. That night (Wednesday) my 16+ year old furnace decided it wasn't going to ignite the gas and would set the furnace into lock down (if the furnace doesn't detect an ignition after 3 tries it goes into lock down for 3 hrs). Oh great, perfect timing..... at least we had a couple of space heaters to tie us through the next couple of days. On Friday, Christian from Mountainwest Service Experts arrived do the inspection. I explained to Christian what happened and he determined that it was the flat surface ignitor that was faulty. But before he repaired it he did a full diagnostic and found that the heat exchanger had developed several cracks which he showed me in the scope-cam. After talking with Christian and getting his expert opinion I decided that it was time to get a new furnace. Christian called Reynold Evans with the sales dept. and I met with him a few hours later. Reynold discussed the various models available and which ones were suitable for my home. I decided on the standard efficiency furnace and AC Unit to be within my budget (The AC unit I currently had was about 22 years old). Although these are not the high efficiency units; in comparison to my old furnace and AC they high tech! Also, it was found that the previous installers of my old furnace did not port the return duct to the fan properly causing the fan motor to work harder to push air through the system. Reynold set the install date for Monday and offered to leave up to four space heaters if we needed them which I thought was a nice touch. Oh Monday I met the Technicians Justin and Greg. They arrived at 8:00 AM and didn't stop till 6:30 PM! Not only did they install a new furnace and AC unit but they had to move my current water heater to the side so they can mount the furnace 90 degrees to the return duct (like it should of been in the first place). The water heater was moved and secured with straps (earthquake) and new copper pipe, ball valves and expansion tank was installed well. Also, they noted that my house didn't have a pressure regulator on the water supply and offered to install one for me as well as replacing the old turn valve with a more robust ball valve for a discounted price. All in all the HVAC and Plumbing work those two did were fantastic. A clean, tidy and professional installation. They took their time to do it right and it shows!!

Arrived on time, explained what he was doing, notified me of part that was worn but would likely last another 6 months, performed comprehensive furnace check.

Didn't end up using the service.

It didn't. You said you offered service until late on Saturday, called around 5:30 pm with an urgent need and I was told the plumber was off at 6:00pm, too bad so sad. Not very professional.
