This was my first time putting in fencing. These guys did two things right: The fence they put in was straight, and they sent me a bill at the right address. Everything else was awful. They didn't install my posts seven feet apart. They didn't even get the measurements that I requested on my fence. They fenced in an extra eight feet of my yard that I didn't want fenced - I actually wonder if they brought a tape measure with them, or if they know how to use one. Some of the posts were so far apart that I had to rig it so that the rails wouldn't fall out. I tried to call the secretary and talk to the guy who was in charge of my project and I was told "that's just the way that everyone does it." They hit my pipes while they were on my property. They hit my pergola with their big rotary machine and didn't apologize, and aren't going to pay for it. It took them a few extra days to actually complete the project by hanging the gate. I had the project manager actually come out to my house. Every complaint that I had, he had an explanation for about how his company was not at fault. There is zero customer service involved in your price. After all of this, I was not happy with the product or the service (by the way they have an extremely snappy secretary) that they provided. His response was "I'm sorry you had so many problems." However, my price still stands. He had the audacity to ask me why I didn't call in. I did call in, but I happen to work long hours. His response was that my employer doesn't usually require those hours - which was none of his business. Unfortunately he didn't know that I perform two functions at my job. I wonder why he even bothered to come over if he wasn't even going to listen to anything that I said. I refuse to use this company in the future. Someone else will be installing the back side of my fence. At this point I'm pretty sure that I could measure out and dig my own post holes better than these "professionals." Seriously, their service is a joke. Only two of my posts were correctly spaced - surprise! I didn't have to cut any of my rails or slats on that section of my fence because it was done correctly. The other 20 or so posts - not even close. There was a variance of plus or minus 6 inches. Seriously, you can look at my fence and tell that some of the posts are way farther apart just by looking at them. The last thing that made me extremely frustrated was that they still haven't completed the project. I was missing about 5 slats. When the project manager came over, he told me that I didn't have enough slats because I had so much waste. I had 66 inches of waste - but that waste was cut into 25 pieces. It couldn't possibly be because his team can't measure and put an extra eight feet of fence in my yard. It's because I have 5 feet of waste. I have to make another phone call and tell them that because they put two extra posts in my yard, I'm STILL two caps short, and have not received a complete product. Seriously, if you're even considering using this company, pay the extra money and go with Lowe's or anybody else. These guys are all too happy to take your money and give you a less than stellar product with absolutely ridiculous service.

They dug the post holes one evening and set the posts in concrete the next afternoon. One more afternoon had most of the fence up and the finishing details the next afternoon. Efficient, professional, great cleanup and quick service. Absolutely no cvomplaints. They beat the nearest competitor's price by nearly $2000.
Description of Work: Installed a yard perimeter two-tone vinyl fence with one double gate and two single gates.

The preschool next door was replacing a fence, part of which lies on our property line. How did it go? Poorly. First, it was indicated that they would be working on that portion of the fence on Friday. They did not come at all on Friday. They showed up on Monday, and we had no contact or explanation about the change of plans. This would not have been a problem, except that we foster dogs, who needed to be kept in the house while there is no fencing. It was indicated that it would take about two hours. It took seven. During the time they took, two other professionals had come, on time, done work no less complex (but to a much higher standard) and finished in less than the time they had estimated. When the old fence, portions of which were partially buried, was removed, they simply cut the chain-link near ground level and left the ends of the old wires sticking up out of the ground. Great on dogs' paws, not to mention lawn mower blades, or children's flip-flops.They also left dozens of random pieces of loose chain-link, from old and new fences, ranging from 2 to 6 inches long lying about on both sides of the fence line. These would not make great play toys for our dogs, nor the preschool children next door. They moved the new fence over about 8-10 inches, resulting in a gap, which we unexpectedly had to fix ourselves before we could let the dogs back out into the yard (again, five hours later than expected). The new fence also had major gaps underneath of up to five inches. It's a good thing that one of our fosters, a 5 pound Brussels, stays mainly in the house; she could easily have walked underneath with barely a scrunch. Others would have only marginally less difficulty getting under. With new fosters rotating in every month or so, our peace of mind is gone. Overall, the professionalism, punctuality, communicativeness, and quality of Custom Fence was sadly lacking in our experience. Perhaps our preschool neighbors were satisfied, but we really cannot recommend them.

I have a big yard. I needed a lot of fence, but my initial contact with this company made me feel bad about being "just" a home owner and not a huge construction company. So I decided to order a 6ft length of vinyl, white-picket fence to see how dealing with them would be. First off, in Logan, Ut area this is the only company in the area that will still sell directly to private home owners. Their price is a full $1.50 a linear foot above everyone else's price. But for great service I was willing to pay more. I put in the order, and the employee was mad because I didn't have the exact length I wanted the slats cut. How would I know this? I work at a bank! So I went home and measured and estimated the length then called them back, this was a wednesday. They told me it would take two days to get the job done (end of Friday), they aren't open on the weekends, only M-F, 8 to 5. I was confused. Two days for a six foot piece of fence? I called on Friday. Still not done. Should be done on Monday. Called on Monday. "Our guy who cuts the stuff went on vacation and now he's behind, it will be a couple days." I said, "Like when? Do you have an estimate?" They said, "Nah. We'll call you." This is a fence company with only one fence cutter-guy? Few days go by, nothing. Finally, the next Friday, ten days later, the fence was done. I called them, they didn't call me. I had to get off work early to pick it up. All of the stuff was stock length! Nothing was cut to the measurements I gave them. Nothing. Not the length of the top and bottom rails, or the slats that I had to figure out an exact measurement for. So basically I paid an extra $1.50 a linear foot to wait ten days and then cut it all myself. Horrible experience.
