I have to admit. I was surprised to see such good reviews for servopro here in Linden. Having just experienced there local manager face to face in their office and at distance the elusive owner(?) ( I was warned I didn't want to deal with him). Servepro did some work for me due to a shower issue done when the home was first built. When they completed the project it was acceptable then as what I am about to tell you was hidden under the surface. Years later and due to now jetted tube issue we have uncovered the real story. Let me preface this with the fact I did lose my cool with Scott, the manager and I am sorry about that. He reminded me he was a professional as he confirmed the poor work was his industry standard. Seems they determined that leaving a slope under the membrane to the actual drain is not required and put the membrane on the sub floor creating a full time pool of water. It is his standard. It is not mine nor does it appear to be the standard of the actual manufacture of the membrane. We also found that the tile work was done in haste leaving failing points on a wall they built. They also did not install underlayment on the flooring but rather installed on top of a wood sub floor. To their credit they were willing to setup a time to come look at the shoddy work. I frankly do not want to deal with a company that is so quick to defend poor standards and opted out doing the work myself. Fair warning they did this work 11 years ago. My hope with calling them in the first place was to let them know there was issues as to see what they would be willing to do. With Scotts persistence on defending the way the shower stall was done and there defense of a” 28 year veteran tile guy” (I had a sample of his work for them to see) I saw no need to have them ever do any more work for me. Servpro showed a low standard for their craftsmanship and selection of contractors along with what I perceive as poor understanding of shower floor build up. I wonder what else? I am sure they are good people. I am sorry I was visibly upset with their responses. But I won’t deal with them again. April 5th 2018 I have learned a bit more about the code recognized by the state and local city. I need to apologize to Scott as in fact they did build the shower pan to the minimum requirements for this area. Having had to build a shower pan previous and doing research my understanding of the correct way was simply the guidelines of manufactures of shower pan membranes. More involved then local code. I stand corrected and recognize the difference between the two. It appears servopro did install the shower pan correct to code. Not to the specifications of the manufacture which entails more labor. Again Scott said he would of looked at it however he was to busy to go the day I went into his shop. I took three days for the project and was not going to wait days for him to come over. Scott commented on my review asking me to come in and discuss it. I did already. He also pointed out the fact they back it up for a year. This poor tile work was hid and the damage was also hid. It took me ripping it apart to find it. I really did not expect compensation after 11 years. Again, I was wrong and apologize to servpro for questioning the shower pan. The work was still not good particularly where it was hid. I still maintain a poor review due to the hidden poor tile work.
Description of Work: insurance work to repair shower stall that was leaking.
