The house we bought in Layton, UT had been winterized and left empty for who knows how long! We got bids to de-winterize it and Robert W Speirs was by far the lowest bid (out of 5). They worked with me and got right back when I emailed or called. When they finally came out the sellers agent had turned on the water to show the appraiser and it had A LOT of leaks. I'm so glad we had the plumber come out! The two men (who were very nice) checked every sink, every room and every pipe they could find. The weekend after we had them out we smelled gas and they came right back to check it. We will DEFINITELY call them again if the need arises.

I had scheduled the 8am-12 service window and Jarmey called at 7:30 to ask if 8am would work. It did and he was there promptly at 8. Got straight to work on the valves which took about 45 minutes. I asked if he could also replace a wax ring on a toilet that seemed to be leaking. He was able to without a problem and did it very efficiently in just 15 minutes. At this point I was delighted with all that in an hours work. The parts were $110 (the PRV was 87 of that). But then the bill said 1.75 hours which he said included his travel time from the shop. I thought that was odd, since he had called 30 minutes before arriving, so I guess I'll assume his shop is somewhere like Ogden (not Kaysville which is 25 minutes on slow roads) and he called me on the way. A peculiar ending to an otherwise good experience. New Update: The following day the office called to correct the billing and refunded 1/4 hour of the time, saying their policy was to bill no more than 30 min travel time.

Responsive and professional. Diagnoised the problem and fixed it. Called to make sure we knew they were on their way and called to follow up and make sure we were satisified with the work preformed.

Rob arrived on time. I took him to the kitchen to show him where the plumbing for my new dishwasher needed to be re-routed and where the wall access for the leak in my tub was located. We talked about re-routing the drain. He explained that he would need to put a small hole in the framing and asked if I was going to need access to my drain. I said I would and that if he was unable to do both jobs that evening, that I really needed the tub leak fixed. We went to the bathroom and he took out the stems and began diagnosing the problem. I told him that I really felt that the valve needed to be replaced because I had numerous problem with the hot water leaking thru the years. Nobody had been able to fix it and that I had waited on the repair knowing that I was going to remodel the kitchen and would have access to the wall. He said he didn't carry price fister and that he didn't think he could get a 3 hole diverter either. I told him I could get it @ lowe's or home depot. He sent me to jerry's plumbing, part in hand to get 2 stems. I returned 45 minutes and $50.00 later. The drain was re-routed. It looked great. He put in the new stems with some difficulty. it appeared the leak had stopped. He walked out the door. I turned on the faucet and it was leaking worse than it had been before he started. He came back in and began again. After awhile I said that it didn't appear that he would be able to fix it that evening. He agreed and apologized and said that if I was able to get the faucet they could put it in for me. I purchased the faucet from lowe's. I talked to the owner about my experience and he said that he could not warranty the work because I had supplied the part. He asked if I planned on having them put the new faucet in. I said I did and he said he would see what he could do. I scheduled the appointment for the next day. They completed the install the next day. I received the bill a few days later. I was charged the full amount, 2 hours of which, @ $80.00 an hour and $50.00 for stems had been spent trying to put 2 stems in when I had said that I thought the valve needed to be replaced. On July 8th Zac amended my bill to remove the 2 hours spent attempting to repair using stems.

I contacted the company after finding them on Angie's list. I set the appointment for Friday from Noon to 4. On Friday at 11:000 Richard called me and asked if he could come earlier. When he arrived he was very courteous. He quickly performed the tasks that I needed completed. They charge 80 dollars an hour for labor which appears high to me but I did not check around to see how competitive that is. Overall, the service call was excellent. Richard removed my cracked toilet and offered to replace it. I chose to purchase my own and install it myself. Once hearing this Richard gave me pointers on how to install the toilet and which type of toilet to buy. After checking the pressure valve it was determined that I did not need a new one. Richard also saved me money by repairing my faucet instead of trying to sell me a new one. Overall great experience.

They were wonderful! They are knowledgeable and honest whenever I do business with them.

On the day the 2 presentable Speir's plumbers arrived at the house they were on time. The lead plumber went over the job in detail with me and gave me a chance to express any concerns and ask questions until I felt we throughly understood each other and how the job would be approached. They began the work posthaste. Looking for the leak the lead plumber machine excavating a 4-6 foot space 5 feet deep between a rock wall and my sidewalk while avoiding landscaping and 2 sprinkler lines that crossed this section smack dab in the center without breaking them. I was amazed at his skill. The plumber's sidekick shoveled down by the city's valve to replace the valve which had shifted and was inoperable. Long story short, the Speir's guys found the leak some distance from where the other company had said it was. The Speir's plumbers cut and replaced my sod, excavated my yard without making a big mess of my beautiful landscaping, didn't cuss, smoke, drink or take their shirts off or scare me, and didn't disturb my sidewalk which the other companies that bid the job wanted to do. After 6 hours of work the water main was fixed, the yard was put back admirably considering the work that had been done, driveway and sidewalk hosed off. Speir's did a commendable job!

The person I contacted by phone was courteous and the appointment was set up quickly. The plumber showed up early and got the job done quickly. This is the second time I've used Speir Plumbing and I have not been disappointed by their service. I can't say if there price is high or not but I suspect it's about standard going rate.

Although I indicated this was not an emergency, they scheduled me for the next day. Plumber Ken arrived right at the beginning of the 4 hour window. He had the parts with him to solve the problems, worked quickly, cleaned up, and made sure I knew where the main water turn-off was. He also showed me how to undo the aerators to clean the hard water deposits out of them. Now all faucets are running better when they're on, and not leaking when they're not.

I called to arrange to have the work done. I'm not in the house now so I just needed someone I could trust to get the work done quickly. They were very courteous and did the work when they said they would.

I picked this company based on Angie's List. Was very impressed with the receptionist, very professional. Ken the plumber arrived on time and set to work without wasting any time. He set a frantic pace for himself, thereby minimizing my cost. He was very friendly and answered all my questions, including questions I had about the water softener system that I had.

Not only did they fix the problem, they were very good about not tearing up our yard in the process. We found out that most plumb ling companies in our area will not deal with water meter problems, but these guys stepped up and saved the day.

They arrived a little later than they said, but the job was performed in a timely and professional manner. I was very satisfied.

Speirs plumbing did the job to satisfaction. They didn't overcharge us, and they were very nice people. I would definitely recommend them for other jobs.

My overall experience was good. They even showed up early. I think the price I paid was decent for the work. Speirs Plumbing is professional and cleaned up after themselves.

One Friday we had no hot water. We called Speirs Plumbing and they came out the same day. The repairman was nice and friendly. We would recommend them to anyone and our neighbors already use the same company.

He was excellent. We have used him numerous times. We would definitely use him again.

They were professional and courteous. The cleaned up the mess after the work was done.
