There has been absolutely no progress on the pool or its cover for the last two months. Phone calls either go unanswered or are met by lies that Anthony will be out. His cell phone message box is full and messages cannot be left. Calls to the office are met with "I'll tell Anthony." I sent a certified letter which they received demanding a refund. Again, no response. I have complained to the Salt Lake Better Business Bureau and the Utah professional licensing board about this company and its owner, Anthony Findley. So far, I have an empty pool with two large holes in it (one cut by Anthony), an unrepaired pool cover which I have no had to pay another vendor to repair, and I am still out my $3400. In my estimation, no one should do any business with this company or its owner because you will get nothing but the runaround.
Description of Work: Deep Blue Pools gave me a bid in February, 2014 for replacement of my pool liner and repair of my pool cover. I gave them a deposit of $3400 (more than half) on March 24, 2014. After a brief initial visit by two of their staff, I received no further information until I began to make phone calls. Despite repeated phone calls to both the office and Anthony's cell, no progress nor explanation for the delay and I asked for my deposit to be returned.

We contacted Deep Blue last spring ( May 22) because the furnace on our in ground pool wasn't working. The owner came right out. After discussion, we agreed to have them install a new furnace and a new filter and put in a saline water system. He said they could do it before Memorial Day for an extra $400. (busy season) or he could just do it all the next week for the agreed upon amount. We gave them a 50% payment and opted to wait a week. Unfortunately, they didn't come and didn't come. We made many telephone calls (even driving out to the office once) and were always reassured that the word would be passed on to the owner Anthony and they would be out shortly. When they came the furnace, filter system and saline system looked like it was working so we (mistakenly) paid them the balance due that day. However, as we began to work with the pool, the filter system didn't operate properly. They came, replaced all the filters and later charged us $495 for new filters. Really? On a 3 week old piece of equipment? In the meantime, we discovered leaks in the old metal pipes. They dug a section up and replaced it, disappearing afterwards. They never returned to replace the sod. Then, the furnace wasn't working. They finally came out and charged us another $79.00 to make adjustments on a new furnace. Really? All this is occuring only as we call and call and call. The entire process was finally completed August 14 (12 weeks) during which time they would tell us--over and over--"someone will be there tomorrow" or "I'll tell Anthony and he'll let you know when." When we finally had everything up and going we received the bill for the replacement of the piping. It was a single amount (we never were given an estimate for that part of the job). We asked for a breakdown of labor (time spent) and materials. Once again, "I'll have Anthony call you." For the umpteenth time, we heard nothing. Frankly, we are so tired of dealing with these people that I wrote a check...and now this review. The pool is working beautifully, but the frustration was untenable. We will never deal with this company again.
Description of Work: Installed new pool furnace, filter and saline system. Replaced about 30 feet of in ground metal pipe with pvc.

They showed up on day they made appointment, had to wait three weeks for appointment during the busy season for pool openings. Was advised to schedule earlier next year. This is understandable. I asked for repairs at time of opening and provided list of issues. They started the pool up and were friendly but the pool never heated up. They didn't address the repairs either. Just ignored it and didn't say anything. After a few days my neighbor helped me realize that the heater hadn't started up. There was an error message on panel for heater indicating problem. I don't think that the heater started when they came to open the pool and the start up guy missed this. I called and asked for them to come back and was told they would get someone out the same day. Three days latter they hadn't showed up so I called again. They said they would call back with an appointment time. 6 hours latter and still no call. I am giving up and looking for someone that can deliver. They are overwhelmed and understaffed.
Description of Work: Came to open pool for year. I also asked to repair based on list of repairs I provided.

Deep Blue Pools worked on my 2 Hayward Navigators over an entire summer (about 3 times each). They turned out to be utterly incapable of diagnosing and fixing what was wrong.

I needed a new spa cover. They said they would come out to measure it, and they were late. I had to leave work to go let them in to measure it. When they measured it, they put the clips in a different position than those on the old cover. They told me not to worry about where the clips were because they would install the clips and ensure the cover was secure. I had to give them a 50% deposit to order the new cover. When they delivered the new cover two weeks later, they had the wrong color - light brown versus the dark brown I ordered. They obviously did not check the color versus the order - perhaps they hoped I would take the wrong color. They had to reorder the cover with the correct color, which delayed them by an additional two weeks. When someone came to deliver the cover, he would not install the clips and did not have screws to secure the clips to the spa. I had to install the clips myself, meaning I had to go out and buy screws to install them. The clips were in a very awkward position, and I had to screw in the clips on the service panels, which means that in the future we will have to remove the clips just to service the spa. Every singe action they took was disappointing, almost as if they planned to make me a dissatisfied customer from the beginning. I just joined Angie's List in order to submit this report. I believe there should be a special category of companies that are so bad they compell someone to join just to report them. This place would be the standard against which all bad companies should be measured.
Description of Work: Measured, ordered, and delivered a new cover for our outdoor spa. First came out to measure on November 17, 2011, delivered the wrong colored cover on December 2, 2011, then delivered the right color on December 16, 2011, showing up without notifying me.
