He gave me a free upgrade on shingles in exchange for putting a sign in my yard. They came to do the work the next week. Once they got going, it was discovered that my roof had three layers instead of two and this threw off the time table by adding quite a bit more work. The crew worked long and hard and finished up the best they could in the dark. Unfortunately this resulted in the roof vent not extended completely along the complete roof peak. I email Gerald the next day and they came out two days later and extend the vent the whole way. The roof looks great and I'm very happy with the work done. I would certainly use them again.

Gerald came to the home and gave a inspection & estimate. He was very professional and friendly in his approach. Very honest on what needed to be done with the roof. At the end he asked when I wanted him to get back to me, and he called back that day. There was no pressure from him to commit to using him. After talking with a couple of other roofing companies and comparing there bids I decided on IWC. They had a fair price and more realistic estimate. When it came time to do the job Gerald kept me informed on a regular basis on scheduling around the weather. They even started a day early. The job was done great and overall I was very pleased.

Our roof suffered damage in a windstorm, and our insurance co. agreed to replace the entire roof and fix all damage. Our experience with this contractor started out on a positive note, but ended up taking a turn for the worse. We were approached by someone going door-to-door talking to homeowners with roof damage. Fine; we were about to get bids, so we agreed to let IWC give us a bid. Probably not the best way to hire a contractor. We chose a shingle color and grade from his own literature. The day before the job was to start, we were told the color we chose was not available, and he recommended another shingle in a different color. We basically had no time to consider another choice, and went with his recommendation. The new color is fine, but we're just not happy that we didn't have much of a chance to evaluate the grade and cost of the new shingle. The actual re-roofing was done quickly and the workmanship seems fine to the untrained eye. I guess time will tell. We were pressured to write a favorable review here prior to job completion, which we did. It later became apparent that the day-laborers were not being paid to come back a second day to finish the work that we agreed upon. We did not know at the time, especially considering that they had left roofing materials and even tools on our roof, so we assumed they would be back. In our case, they were supposed to repair damaged soffet and fascia in addition to re-roofing our house, but instead we got broken promises. Fortunately, due to the way he had us pay the subcontractor directly, we had the final remaining balance to negotiate with. I was promised directly that he would have a worker out the next week to complete the repair. I told him that I would send the balance upon completion, which infuriated him. We finally agreed upon an amount that I would withhold until he complete the repair, but as I hung up I told my wife that he had no intention of sending someone back--and I was right. Two months later, I think it's safe to say we'll have to hire someone else to finish the job. In the case of our neighbor (a single working mom, no less), IWC failed to re-install her rain gutters after completing her re-roofing, and was unhappy with the poor job of cleaning up her yard. If you use this contractor, agree to pay in full only after completion, and don't write a positive review until you are sure they have satisfied the terms of your work contract.

I received 3 bids from roofing contractors that had completed roofs in my area. All had been recommended to me as quality contractors.I held a roofing contractors license in California for 10 years in the 80's and 90's. IWC provided the lowest bid and the features I wanted. They completed a quality roof in 1 day and provided the best warranty of the contractors I received bids from. Great job from start to finish! They beat all other bids! Gerald is very friendly and committed to excellence. He is easy to get a hold of, quick to return calls, and was willing to work on issues to my satisfaction. The workers were very experienced, hard workers and kept me informed throughout. I am pleased with my new roof!

The high wends removed half of my shingles. The Insurance was paid but only covered half of the roof. I could not fined a shingle that would match the one I had. I could have a two tone roof or shingle the hole roof, acquiring the extra cost for the entire roof. I called several roofing company's for bids and was completely astonished that they could charge that much for a roof job!!! Late in the fall Intermountain west gave me a bid for my roof with no song and dance bull crape like the other bids I received. Saved over three thousand dollars. They came back in the spring on the date we disgust. 2 days and I have a new roof. thanks Intermountain west.

They showed up and got straight to work. They had to replace some of the wood under the roof even but that didn't slow them down. I thought that the whole installation was great!

We reviewed several bids for a reroofing on the second level of our home. Intermountain West Contractors presented the best offer and was within our budget. The crew arrived on time and worked throughout the day and cleaned up each evening before leaving. They were courteous and made sure that we were satisfied with the job they were performing. Upon completion of the job all materials were hauled away, the driveway, yard, etc was void of any evidence of trash. The roof looks great and enhances the overall appearance of the home! Gerald was very professional at all times and made sure that we, the customers, were satisfied with all aspects of the job. We appreciated his professionalism and integrity. It is refreshing to have a contractor work on our home that we can trust and know he will do what he says will be done. We will recommend him and his company to our neighbors and others who maybe looking for a roof repair or replacement in the future.

Began with a door-to-door offer to do a bid on roof - nice gentleman, not pushy. We received a call from owner soon afterwards who came to bid the job. He was very professional, listened to us, presented the proposal including all the costs. We felt comfortable with him and didn't feel obligated. Called back that evening to confirm and schedule a date. The crew was amazing and the whole job was done in one day. They cleaned up the yard well. Gerald has followed up to make sure we are satisfied.

We had a representative of the company stop by our house on March 25 (a Monday.) We told him we were interested in an estimate and scheduled an appointment with the owner, Gerald, for Wednesday, March 27. He called to tell me he was running about 10 minutes late for our appointment at 6:00 PM. He arrived at our house at approximately 6:06 PM. Gerald showed us the awards he had won and testimonials from Angie's list. He explained that the jobs are usually scheduled 2 weeks out and that he does his own financing. We looked through the brochure and picked out a nice cedar-looking roof. He said that was one of the new styles and was very popular. We gave him permission to place a sign in our front yard advertising his services since we live on a corner lot. All of the roofing materials were delivered on April 1st, and the entire job was finished on Tuesday, April 2. We were surprised that the job was done so quickly since we had expected a two week wait. The roof looks great and makes a huge improvement to the overall appearance of our home. The roofers cleaned up really well and no debris was left for us to clean up. I swept our driveway in case there were nails and couldn't find any. Gerald was very professional and we would definitely recommend him to anyone needing a new roof or windows!

They were here first thing in the morning and cleaned up each night before they left. It only took two days two days to install. They even put the satellite dish back in exactly the same spot, so when they were done our dish was working fine. Overall we recommend them, in fact we?ve hired them to replace all of our windows.

We called Intermountain West Contractors for an estimate on re-placing our shingles. We knew we needed them replaced ASAP. Gerald Sommer, was at my home within a few hours. He measured our roof, gave us a break down of the exact price, and helped us pick out the color he thought would look best for our home. There was no pressure, just helpful advice and we went with the great financing program that he offered us. Zero interest for one year. He went over the proposed work in detail and we were scheduled for the work to be done, within a few days. The workers arrived right on time and got right to work. By the end of the evening, shingles were on. Debris was cleaned up and they even hosed off my patio, leaving the yard as clean as they found it. We are very happy with the way our home looks now. It has definitely made a difference in our homes appearance and curb appeal. Along with the fact that we have a roof that will be protected from snow, heat and rain. No more worries about any leaking!! Gerald called after the work was completed to make sure we were satisfied with the completed work. We will recommend this company to our family and friends. It was a good feeling knowing we were in good hands and that customer satisfaction was important to this company.

The work was started a day earlier than promised. The old shingles were removed, replacement plywood was installed and the roof was made water tight before they left the first day. The next day they shingled the roof after waiting for the city building inspector to come. The next day they finished the job in the morning and cleaned up. Gerald visited us several times to make sure that everything was going well and that we were pleased with the work. He and his crew chiefs were very good to work with. The workers were all very professional and were glad to answer my questions and concerns. We now have a top quality roof that was done professionally and well. I would choose Gerald and Intermountain West Contractors again in the future.

They actually started a day earliler than scheduled. If we had any questions they were willing to take the time and explain them to us. Whether it was about the placement of stuff, lilke gutter and heat tape, or a billing question. We felt he was honest in his dealing with us. Our neighbors must think he is honest too, because it seems like the whole neighborhood is getting new roofs from him also.

Gerald was very good to work with. His crews were very hard working and did very well as a team. They also did 2 other homes in my neighborhood at the same time. It was fun to observe their teamwork as they worked on all three at the same time. His foreman, Joe was very attentive to any questions or requests that I sent his way. He also relayed to Gerald who would follow up and make sure I was satisfied. I think it is worth noting that one competitor, upon learning that I was going with IWC, barraged me unrelenting phone calls with bitter accusations against Gerald. All of which proved to be false. I could not have asked for better people to work with.

Overall it went well and we were pleased with the services and the quality of the workmanship. Gerald upgradded the shingles to a better quality without increasing the cost and with our permission. After the work wa completed the clean up was excellent. The work was done fast and the roof looks very good. We were kept in the loop and there were no suprises.

The job went very smooth. They began on a wednesday by dropping off the material at our home. They had their work crew on site the following day to do the roof. That evening they finished the job and cleaned the debris from the premises.

Did not use company, unprofessional, rude. Went with another company.

They were very kind and helpful to me. They did a wonderful job and it looks great. They moved everything off of the patio when they worked and put down covers to keep the nails from going everywhere. They were very professional and hard workers. They stayed busy all day and even stayed late that night to try to beat the weather. I appreciate all they did.

IWC actually connected me with their Roofers. So, this is a review partially of IWC and partially of the roofers. IWC set up the initial meeting for the Roofers to look over the roof and provide an estimate. IWC also did follow-up on the estimate, and repair to make sure everything was satisfactory. They also vetted the roofers. The roofers inspected the roof, told me what they would suggest and gave a verbal estimate. I accepted the offer and they said they would do the work by the end of the week. They did the work and later showed me what they had done. The work looks good. It will take a few rainstorms for me to feel confident that everything is good, but it definitely looks better. My only complaint with the roofers is that for each scheduled time, I had to wait. For the estimate, they were scheduled to show up by 10am, and they showed up at 2pm. For the work, they were supposed to call midweek, and they called Friday morning. For the inspection they were supposed to show up at Monday 7am, and didn't show or call until noon. The second try they said they'd show at Tues morning and they did show up on time. I would have been happier and more confident throughout if they did what they said they'd do, on time. In general, the work looks good, and I would use them again.

We bought a foreclosure in December before the snows came and are not living in it until it's fixed up. I knew there were some soft spots in the decking and that it had been patched previously when a swamp cooler had been removed from the house so we knew that there was roofing to be done. There was ceiling damage inside the front hall, but after some heavy rains and then snow, it stayed dry so we're pretty sure that it was old damage. We were hoping to be able to wait until Spring or Summer before dealing with the roof, but when the plumber opened a wall we discovered water inside it and damage to the ceiling above from ice build-up. I looked on Angie's and saw IWC had high ratings so I called them up. We have re-roofed houses before so we had a good idea of what a reasonable bill would be. Gerald was out of town but when I mentioned that we had water damage, he called his guy, Joe, to come up the next day. Joe gave us a reasonable bid (more than I was hoping for, but good enough) and we decided to hire them. They started almost immediately and did a fantastic job-- they took an extra half a day because they had underestimated how much heavy, icy snow there was to remove before they were even able to start, but didn't charge any more for it. There were some added challenges with their business being in Riverton, us living in Logan, and the house being in Brigham City, but there was no complaining or hesitation on their part to work things out. The new roof looks beautiful and seems to have no problems--though when we mentioned there might be a problem Gerald was ready to call up his crew to fix it before we even had a chance to check it out. Once we checked we realized there was no problem, but it was nice to know that they were so anxious to do a good job. We had them re-cover the patio because we had water coming through the seam where the roof met the patio and we wanted to make it seamless. Joe, who was giving the bid, recommended a TPO membrane instead of shingles because of the slope--we agreed because we don't want too much weight on it from snow. Unfortunately we hadn't realized that it meant they would keep the two roofs separate instead of seamless--I am really hoping that we don't end up with water coming through again. In the spirit of full disclosure, I do feel like I need to mention that Gerald gave us a discount for ensuring that we would post a review. Little did he know that we would have reviewed anyway, but I'm always willing to take a discount. This is still my true opinion about the work done though. And if there are any changes to my opinion when the heavy rains and snows come again, I will update this review.

Gerald's team was professional and stayed in budget. They were able to get the job done in this horrible winter weather and make it look wonderful. I would recommend them to anyone looking for roofing - IWC uses a great product with great warranty!

Company was great to work with. Gerald was on top of everything and job went very smooth. They cleaned up daily and showed up on time. I really only had to sit back and watch the job unfold. Great work and they all spoke English. I would recommend INTERMOUNTAIN WEST to all my friends and relatives. Note: Gerald is a list ant relative as we both discovered.
