We got 4 bids. This was 2nd lowest, but he agreed to match lowest bid since they were so close. Once I gave the go-ahead, it took about a week to get a date for the install, but when they called, it was scheduled for a few days later. They had a dumpster delivered early in the morning. The workers showed up on time and got right to work. I was told it would take 1 day for the whole roof, maybe part of a second morning. It ended up taking 2 full days, which was fine. The dumpster was removed the morning after the roof was done. The finished product looks so much better than the old roof! They did a good job of cleaning up afterward. I found a couple of things that had blown under a tree, but that was all. Each time it rains, I find a couple of nails on the ground too. I feel like the company communicated with me well - every time I called, I was able to talk to someone who helped me. The only surprise was a section of roof that already had 2 layers of shingles that needed to be removed, so the price went up $400 from the original quoted price.

I returned home from being in out of the country to find my kitchen ceiling bowing from water leaking from my roof. After having issues with the roofing company that was sent out by the insurance company, I contacted Intermountain West Contractors. I am not available during the week due to my work schedule, so Gerald, the CEO, came out on Saturday to do the bid. His assistant Chris, followed up a few days later with the date and time that the workers would be at my house to install the roof. They were there right on time and to my suprise, finished the entire roof that day. Chris called several times that day to make sure everything was going well with the installation and followed-up the next day to see if everything was to my satisfaction. I mentioned that there was debris in the skylight. Gerald immediately came out and sent the crew back to clean out the skylight. Gerald is also working with my insurance company to resolve the issues I was having with them. Thanks so much to Intermountain West Contractors for doing such a great job in a short amount of time and for going the extra mile. It made this bad situation much less stressful and I love the way my new roof looks.

IWC was initally very responsive. Not the lowest bid, but we also did not just want to go with the cheapest supplier. However, after getting five bids, they did come down on their price to be more competitive. Installation was extremely fast and efficient. Several neighbors commented that they had never seen roofers work so efficiently. We found a few screws and roofing nails afterwards. My wife wasn't happy about it, but I figured inevitably there would be a few. They completed the project in one day (Friday). There was confusion and the dumpster was left in my driveway blocking our garage. I called and the dumpster was removed on Saturday. After inspecting the roof afterwards, the job performed was great quality. I did feel what seemed like a soft spot on my roof afterwards. They were supposed to replace any damaged wood, however, I am not a roof expert and it could have been fine. Post installation was actually the only part I was disappointed. There was confusion about whether or not the gutter installation was included in the original bid. When I called to get clarification, I received an extremely slow response. In fact it was never clarified. It wasn't until 9 months later that the gutter contractor they used called us to tell us we had not paid yet. He had apparently tried to get in touch with IWC and they never responded to him. This was frustrating. Overall, I would recommend IWC based on their pricing and efficiency. I would recommend having your gutters done by another company to prevent confusion on the billing. Price and quality was our main driver and I felt like I got this from IWC.

The crew showed up at about 8am on the fisrt day and removed the roof and even started installing new roof. They worked all day and returned the next and were complete y 1:00pm. They cleaned up and were very professional, I have already had two neighbor get estimates from Gerald. Even the dumpster was pick up with out us hearing them do so. Over all this was a great experience.

Very well. They completed most of it on Wednesday and had just a small part to complete on Thursday. They cleaned up after themselves and also brought in a dumpster to put the garbage in. When the project was completed, they removed the dumpster

I was overjoyed with my experience working with Intermountain West Contractors. This roof replacement was a neighborhood service project to help a needy family with an severely autistic child. I explained what we were doing to Gerald and without even knowing any details about the family, he jumped right on board and wanted to help us help them. He gave me an extremely low estimate, especially considering the quality of materials and workmanship they were providing. The original estimate was for $4,600 which got us a shingle with a 50 year warranty, 20 year labor warranty, and a much improved ridge line venting system. All done within a week of signing the contract. The day before the crew was scheduled to start working Gerald called to notify me that he'd talked the shingle supplier into giving us the shingles at half price (WOW!) and that the dumpster and disposal fees were going to be donated as well. I was overjoyed and amazed that these companies would give us such a huge price break on behalf a family they knew nothing about. The day they finished the project, it only took 2 days, Gerald called to let me know what the final cost would be. Only $3,200!! I was so excited because that meant that we'd have enough money left to put gutter and downspouts on the home, which it didn't have before. When I expressed my excitement about the gutters, Gerald informed me that he'd be taking care of that too!! What a kind and generous person running a company that does a great job. The roof looks beautiful, and the family was very happy with how quickly it was done and cleaned up. They were especially grateful for the care the crew took to ensure every nail and scrap of shingle were cleaned up. With a child who has the mentality of a 3 year old and no means of communicating when he gets hurt, it's extra important that any safety hazards are removed from his play area. I would, and already have, recommended Intermountain West Contractors to anyone who needs good quality work done by honest people at a fair price.This has been an amazing experience.

Two of my neighbors and myself went in together to replace our 20 year-old roofs. We obtained 4 bids from local roofing contractors. We settled on Intermountain West Contractors based on pricing and highly rated by Angies List. Josh was who we worked with from beginning to end. It took them 3 of long days to complete all 3 houses, with 2 crews working simultaneously. What I appreciated was the continual communication between Josh and the roofers to see how things were going and with us on any issues. Any issues or questions were quickly resolved. One of the roofers, Joe, was there the whole time working and talking with us about any concerns and kept us up-to-date on progress. Working with IWC was a good experience, having worked with contractors most my civilian career at a gas processing plant in Wyoming. Josh wrote up the sales contract and everything on it met my expectations 100% when completed. The price was certainly another factor that made our decision to use IWC easier. The roof included a complete tear-off. They were extremely careful about putting stuff in the dumpster and picking up around the yard. I think I have found only 1 nail so far that they missed, not bad. The person picking up around the house after the roofers had moved to the next house told me there might be one or two he missed. They also thoroughly cleaned all gutters and picked up all the debris from the gutter downspout. I liked the idea that they repainted my ugly heater vent. I can't be more impressed. Quality products and work. I will recommend these folks to any of my neighbors looking for a roofer. In fact, they did pick up one of my neighbors after they saw the work on our three houses. My other neighbors were equally satisfied.

All went well - of course, only have had the roof for 2 days but the process went well and the roof looks great. There was a delay from the original installation date due to not enough shingles being available. On the new installation date, the workers arrived on time and the job was completed in one day. Clean up was fast and complete - found a few nails. I'm pleased and glad to have this new roof.

We had several contractors give bids. We were horrified when one guy took 3 hours of our day to pitch us his bid. Another just got up on the roof when we weren't even home and gave us a quick bid over the phone (more expensive). Gerald was the most professional of all the contractors, his price was right and he didn't waste our time. His guys took a little longer to complete the work than we thought, but in the end, it looks fantastic. We've recommended him to all of our neighbors and he is starting work next week for our good friends across the street.

Superior service. Punctual. Cleaned up daily. Explained everything going on and worked with me while I dealt with the insurance company I got 5 bids and no one could beat this price unless it wasn't a complete tear off of old roof and that was only by a few dollars. They tore up the roof and put a new line but It was a surprise to them that there was actually two layers of shingles, instead of one, and he didn't bother to find out until they got into the job and, there you go, they had to spend money and now expecting to pay, so, I didn't think that was good. But in general, they were amazing, and they just went at it. They worked hard. They started the work and didn't go home until it was done.

Pros- These guys outbid several other providers. They showed up on time and worked two days straight to complete the job. Gerald was responsive and very nice, indicating our satisfaction was his only aim. Cons- The cleanup was sub-par. They broke drywall in our garage to our attic. They broke a glass table on our patio. They did not fully remove previous tile cement from house. New gutters were needed- despite being told we could tie in the old ones we had, and the actual cost of new gutters was 4 times the estimate given. After discussing our concerns, the foreman originally argued back and wasn't cooperative until speaking to Gerald, the owner. They willingly covered the cost of the broken table, but the drywall is still broken and after multiple promises that they would come out to fix it, we have yet to see them or hear from them. They came back out to do additional cleanup as well, which was just one guy picking up larger chunks by hand. He missed dozens of nails, screws, wood and tile that I spent the following weekend picking up. Gerald always made us feel confident that things would be resolved, but it appears he was more concerned about a good Angie's List review than anything else. After the bills were paid it seemed as if the remaining concerns were forgotten and sadly it's led to this less than favorable review. All in all, the roof looks good, they were quick, price quoted wasn't exceeded, but the service and professionalism from the crew left us disappointed and with minor fixes to be done ourselves.

I had 4 companies come in to bid the repair/replacement of my roof that was damaged during the last wind storm. I emailed Intermountain West Contractors (IWC) and Gerald (the owner) quickly responded and basically told me he could beat out all the bids. He wasn't joking. He came down and looked at the proposals and gave me a bid on what his company could do. He beat out all his competitors and still managed to throw in their upgrades. When we walked up on the roof, he discussed the details in which the reroofing would occur and what his company would do as part of this roofing project. He mentioned the difference in the room temperatures that were to be expected by the new roof. IWC is listed as a Platinum Certified Contractor. He mentioned that the process to get that certification wasn?t easy to get. In talking with Gerald he recommended Owens Corning shingles vs the ?other name brand?. He was certified to work with both. The ?other name brand? is in a lawsuit for not honoring their warranty. All the competitors that were bidding on the roof failed to mention that. From what I remember, Gerald?s competitors that bid on my roof, worked with the ?other name brand? product. Gerald mentioned IWC was his company and he took pride in what they do. He answered all my questions and was up front on what to expect. He wasn?t pushy and reminded me it?s my money to do as I felt was best. He even got me approved for the Zero percent financing for 60 Months and that was him walking the paperwork through to the financial institution. He answered all my calls and responded to my emails. We had a few communication gaps and delays, but Gerald remained a true professional and accommodated me as such...Anyways, the day before the reroof, a dumpster arrived. The next morning his crew was ready to work right around 0700HRS. They quickly ripped off the existing shingles and prepped the roof for new ones. IWC crew worked hard from the minute they got to my place to the minute they left. The new shingles arrived a little bit later than expected by the crew. That same day there was a storm that was expected to roll in. His crew pushed through and managed to have the whole house redone before the rain hit. The roof looks really good. I?m actually more proud of my roof than the rest of my house. I drive home and it's the first thing I see. You can appreciate the pride in workmanship that this company presents. I was very impressed on how well Gerald's crew worked together and how respectful they all handled themselves with me as the customer. A few minor details were missed on cleanup but that was expected on my end.. My roof still looks good. Intermountain West Contractors were well represented by both Gerald and his crew. I will definitely use the guys for future projects.

WOW!!! Love these guys! One and half days and these guys had the job done. No scrap left behind. All of my neighbors commented on how nice my new roof looks. When Gerald came to give me the bid he bragged about how he would be my lowest bidder. I had four bids on my roof and his was indeed the lowest bid. The price difference was $900 from my highest bidder. Gerald was really nice, very professional, honest, and funny! The day before the work was to be done I received a couple of phone calls one from Josh and one from Gerald, making sure I was aware that they were coming and to ask if I had any questions. On the day the work was to be done, Gerald showed up at my door to make sure I was okay with his guys being a bit late to my house. He didn't want me to be upset, but I understand that construction jobs can go late sometimes. I recommend these guys to my friends and relatives and all of you cyber space readers. Give Gerald a call. You won't be sorry!

The evening before the taking off of the roof, a dumpster was provided and placed in the yard. They called first to make sure cars would not be blocked. The next morning the crew arrived and hussled to get the roof taken off. The workers kept me informed of their progress and the next steps. Since they would not be complete until the next day, the yard was completely cleaned up and packed up. The next day they arrived, as usual, on time and quick to work. The new roof was installed. Since I had a patio cover built by a non-handyman, the roof and cover were not square. This caused some problems for the crew but they quickly worked around it and finished the job as they promised. The Owner, Gerald is SUPER!!! He has a great personality and his company provides a quality service. I will definately be referring Intermountain West Contractors to everyone I know. This was the first roof I had ever replaced so I wasn't sure of the process. Gerald and his crew were the BEST!!!!!! You won't be disappointed with their service, professionalism and follow up.

We called every roofer and contractor in the state to get quotes. We ended up going with Intermountain West Contractors for the following reasons: IWC was the only company to come out and actually speak with us about the process of getting a new roof, as well as our other options. Other companies came out and just discussed the quote but IWC spent the time to explain more about the roofing process than just what materials we'd be getting for the price. IWC was the only company that offered to match competitor pricing. After all the quotes were in, IWC wasn't the cheapest or the most expensive but they did match the cheapest competitor that was using comparable materials. Even though this specific competitor was using a grade lower membrane, IWC still matched their price and used the higher grade membrane material. Now the real story begins. On the day of install, after getting into our roofing project, the roofers discovered the roof was far worse than expected and the entire roof needed to be redecked. I inspected the roof myself and there was no doubt that this additional work was required. This was an unexpected cost of a few thousand dollars. Gerald, the owner, called me directly to discuss what could be done about the unexpected cost. He gave the additional decking to me at cost, saving me about $800. Another unexpected problem was that while the roofers were up there, part of the ceiling inside our house fall down. Gerald had already told me that due to the severe damage to the roof, there was a possibility of the ceiling coming down and that he couldn't be held responsible for the damage but when this ceiling did fall, he said he would have a contractor come out and would give us a credit to get this small portion of ceiling fixed. As the work continued, Gerald called me again with a concern that the drywall on the ceiling could be knocked loose by gravel that fell in on top of it. He suggested we get out of the house just in case, and much to my surprise, offered to put us up in a hotel until we could get a handyman onsite to tack all the drywall back up. This was completely above and beyond what I expected of any roofing company. Gerald expressed genuine concern for our family and put his money where his mouth was. I hope I never have to reroof this house, but if I do I will be calling Gerald and Intermountain West Contractors again. They finished the entire job in a day and a half and the personal attention we got from Gerald was more than enough to win us over as a loyal customer.

I just had my roof redone by Gerald and his crew. These guys were great, from the initial sales meeting through to the finished product. The employees were polite and worked very hard. They did the whole job in 2 1/2 days. Excellent clean up and great finished presentation. They were conscious of our neighbors, and were aware of making minimal impact on our daily activities and our yard. I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants a quality roofing job done on their home.

Excellent. The owner knows his business is very friendly uses quality materials and has a great team. He consulted with me on color and style and was right on. Since my house sits down off the road the roof is very visible. It looks great! I feel fortunate to have found Gerald and his team for such an important job. I HIGHLY recommend this company.

We were very pleased with the work done by IWC on our roof, and the professionalism of the owner, Gerald. We have also had bad experiences with contractors in the past, and It's refreshing to work with someone like Gerald who is intelligent and stays in constant communication with the customer. He was very attentive to our needs and concerns, checked back frequently, or had someone do it in his stead, and followed up on every detail. They cleaned up pretty well also - no debris left around. I would also recommend IWC to anyone who prefers to be treated with respect.

Many of the shingles fell off our roof in the windstorm in March so we hired Intermountain to do our roof. I met with the wonder himself and he suggested a few things which I was very happy with. They were a little late in getting here, but he called and checked up on us. The workers were fast and worked hard. I loved the end result! Our roof looks great and survived the crazy wind last night! As an added bonus, they listened to classical music while working. My neighbors loved it!

IWC just completed a new roof installation for me and I am extremely pleased with their work. I have had bad experiences with a number of other contractors of all types and finding Gerald and his company has restored my faith in actual " professionalism". From my first phone call to him, Gerald has been prompt, courteous, thorough in his explainations and has done everything he said he would do. His crew showed up to work on the roof yesterday and worked so hard and fast that they finished the job in one day and left my property looking like they had never even been here, except for my beautiful new roof! Gerald followed up today with an inspection and to answer any questions I had. I'm so impressed, I am having him come back to replace my windows. I highly recommend this company to anyone wanting the job done right.

I had no idea what I was getting into when I first started the process of figuring out how to get our house re-roofed. I had emailed some other companies but hadn't gotten any replies. A salesman for a different company came door to door and set up a time for their company to do an estimate. There estimate was $2000 higher than Intermountain West's estimate, and the warranty was only for 30 years, versus the 50 year warranty that I got with Intermountain West. I will use them again for future projects. Gerald, the owner, is very prompt and accommodating. He gave me his cell so that I could contact him with questions. He even answers text messages, which is great for me because I'd much rather text someone than call. Over all I am very pleased, our roof looks great! We had shake shingles on there before and they were falling off and constantly landing in our neighbors yards. Now we don't have to worry about that any more. The crew did a great job cleaning up as well. They were also very considerate. My sister walked her new baby over to my house while they were working on the roof. They stopped everything when she approached the house, helped her carry the stroller over and up to the house, and then helped her on her way out as well. I really appreciated that.
