Gerald, the owner, came and inspected the roof and created a bid for me. He was professional and extremely knowledgeable. He had roofed the home across the street and we were already impressed with the work his company provided. The work crew came on time and finished when expected. Our home was well cared for, and completely cleaned up afterwards, not one stray nail! Gerald inspected the work as it was being done, and came at my request to do a walk through and answered all my questions. I would recommend this roofing company to anyone that needs a new roof.

Gerald is great! He personally comes to your house to do the estimate and comes back to check up on you. The workers are punctual and do a great job. They cleaned up the site and we didn't have any problems with them. They answered all my questions. We will be using them next year to do our windows.

It went very well and in a timely manner even with rainy weather. They were punctual, worked extremely hard and cleaned up very well afterwards. The cost was higher than expected but the additonal cost was legitimate due to the poor shape of the plywood. Even with the additional plywood and rainy weather, the roof was completed within three days. The roof looks so much better.

We were very happy with the service and professionalism of the crew. They were diligent and hard working. We felt the work was well done and we will definitely use them again if one of our rentals needs roof work. We contacted two other roofers and felt the price was fair and competitive. They cleaned up the property and left nothing behind to pick up. The owner worked with us and we felt we were well informed about options and selections. We have a difficult tenant but the crew was able to work with him. Overall, this was a very good company to work with!

I researched several company's and received several bids to re-roof my house. Intermountain West Contractors was by far the best quality and service for the money. I felt like I was dealt with fairly and honestly. They followed through on everything they promised and within the time frame they promised. I consider myself very picky and hard to please and I couldn't have been happier with the quality of roof I received for the price and the service that was provided. Everything is upfront, no hidden agenda's and no games! I highly recommend Intermountain West Contractors to anyone. Just save your time and all the effort and call them first. You won't be disappointed!

Last summer we bought a house knowing we would need to replace the roof before moving in. I got quotes from a few contractors in the area from Angie's list, and chose to go with IWC. I chose them because they were very responsive, polite, informative, and upfront in their communication with me. The fact that they offered me a great price on it helped a lot too :) Once the roof work was scheduled, we had a bit of a late start (pushed back about a week), it was peak season in summer so I guess they had a bit of a backlog. But once they committed to a new time, they began work on schedule. During the whole process they had a project manager on site who explained the steps to us when we visited. Once the majority of the work was done, it took a few more visits from them to fine tune everything. Gerald, the owner stopped by himself and spoke to us, and he pointed to me that the trim was the wrong color- it was not matching the rest of the roof. I was so busy moving I didn't even realize. He contacted his supplier and they came in that very day to take a look. Over the next few weeks they sent people over to fix the color by using the right trim, and make sure the roof was properly sealed and cocked all around. Over the next few months, whenever we had any questions or concerns regarding the roof, the immediately sent out a team to investigate and address our concerns. Even after one whole year, I had a question for Gerald, and he picked up and answered my call and assured me that he will stand by us and his work all the way. A lot of companies make promises at the beginning but few will stand by their clients for so long. I truly appreciate the continuous support IWC has been giving us. I will recommend them to friends for sure :)

The quality of the work completed was very good. They showed on time as scheduled and completed the work within a couple of days. They cleaned up most of the mess. They did cause some damage to our concrete pad in the back of the house when they dropped the swamp cooler off of the house. The only issue that I had with the contractor was the misleading advertisement of 5 years 0% interest. I made it clear to the salesman from the very first meeting that we would need financing. Our contract showed that we would be financing the work. The owner called me the morning that work was scheduled to begin and asked how we were paying for the work. When I stated that we would be financing the work, he told me that the amount on the bid and contract was not the correct price for the 3 or 5 year free financing. He stated that it would be about $1,500.00 more than the amount that I was quoted and signed a contract for in order to get the 3 or 5 year "free" financing. I was only able to get 1 year financing at 0.00% interest. This practice is called front loading the loan and is not what they advertise. The work was good but beware of the misleading advertising regarding interest free financing. I recommended this company to my sister and brother-in-law after making them aware of the financing issue. They met with the owner and were told that they do not subcontract their jobs. The job was subcontracted and the subcontractor did not cover her roof properly in the middle of the job when rain was eminent. The rain came and caused damage to their living room ceiling and fireplace mantel as well as to the ceiling in their covered porch. The subcontractor gave them $200.00 for the damage to the living room and nothing for the damage to the covered porch. The owner told them that the subcontractor only worked for him however, the subcontractor told my sister that was not the case. I would rate them a B for my job but a C- for my sister's job.

These guys did a great job in the promised time at the promised price (which was at least $1K less than the nearest quote I could find). I had gotten a bid from another contractor, but decided to buy a year of Angie's list and check that out. I'm glad I did because Gerald came out and showed that he could provide a better product at a lower price. He certainly delivered on that promise! The only reason I moved this to a B rating was 1) the sales approach was a little high pressure, which I don't enjoy, but the price was right so we went for it 2) We were told we could get anywhere from 1 - 5 years same as cash (they only advertise 5 years), but with my credit rating (>820) he basically said we'd for sure get at least 3 years. When it came down to it we only got 1. I was planning on paying it off within a year anyhow, but I felt I had been slightly misled. Had I been counting on the 5 years I would have had to scramble for the money 3) Communication was terrible. Gerald left after the initial consultation (with my $300 check in hand), I didn't hear boo for about 2 weeks. I wasn't too worried because of their great reviews and because I had used Angie's list, but I guess you never know. I was just about to call to see what's up when I got a call 'confirming' an appointment two days from the call. I had never been given an appointment. I had also emailed a couple of times with color choices and some questions I had and did not hear back or get confirmation on our color choice. Luckily everything worked out. Then when they finished up there were no instructions or information provided - they just left. Then it was another 2 months until I actually got a bill. Very, very strange experience from a communication point of view! So the bottom line - Intermountain West Contractors provided a great service at a great price and I would likely use them again in the future if the price was right again, but their customer service did not make a completely loyal fan out of me. If you can put up with the lack of communication and slightly high sales pressure then you will love the results!!

We appreciated Gerald's commitment to excellence and competitive pricing. The crew worked hard and communicated with us, and the work was completed in a timely fashion. The roof looks great and we expect it to outlast us! We would recommend this company. However there are a few small details we are still waiting on. A water line was cut and had to be replaced on an evaporative cooler. We are waiting to be reimbursed for the labor for this. Also, we never received the official warranty for the roof. On the other hand, it has taken us this long to write a review here. Still, we hope these last couple of things will be taken care of soon!

I scheduled for an estimate on gutters, flashing and new windows. Gerald called and gave me a price over the phone for new windows for the entire house and said his roofer would be out to install the new flashing on the roof for a minimum fee, which I was more than happy with. And when the roofer was there they would give me an estimate on the gutters. Given the price he quoted me for the windows, I was ecstatic. Monday came. No roofer. I gave it through Tuesday. No roofer. No call to explain. I called Gerald on Wednesday and left a message. No return call. I called one more time the following Monday and nothing. Gerald, if you're too busy then you should hire a person to do your scheduling. At least have the decency to call a person back if you are unwilling to do the job or are so busy that you can't. At least then I'd have some explanation as to your severe lack of professionalism. Any call is better than no call. Even if there was a deal for 5 free windows and 20% off of everything else I would not use this company. Period. Nor will I recommend this company to any of my neighbors. Every company I've used from Angie's List I've told about to my neighbors. I've had nothing but great experiences. Until now. I know that this company has received amazing reviews, which is why I picked it. So mine will probably get buried under the 'A's. But if you are reading this, make sure Gerald and company can actually perform the work and won't just blow you off.

They were very responsive and provided the best estimate we received. The roof was done in a timely manner. They cleaned up after themselves. I really like the color and my roof looks MUCH better.

The owner of the company is very kind and courteous and the product and labor were both very good. We had been told it would be a one day installation, but because they found some additional issues, it took a little longer. The workers stayed until late in the evening to try to get it done as quickly as possible and even stayed through some short rain showers, then showed up the next morning to finish and clean up. They were very kind. Overall, we are very happy with the workmanship. Our only frustration was that communication was lacking in several areas and we felt lost at times not knowing what was going on. The first thing, which wasn't a huge deal, but would have been nice to know about was that we had a large dumpster dropped off in our driveway with no prior notice and it blocked access to our garage and driveway. (The company they hired to drop it off did leave us a message at the time they delivered, stating that if it was a problem we could call them within 30 minutes to have it moved, but we were gone when that message came and didn't return home for several hours afterwards.) But that's probably normal for construction jobs, so like I said, not a huge deal. The second issue was that when the workers first started to tear off the old roof, they found that not enough nails had been used in the previous installation and they would therefore need to replace some plyboard panels and lots more nails to be up to code. However, none of them spoke English and they weren't able to tell me what was needed. I received a call from a remote manager who also spoke very little English telling me that they would need to do extra work that would cost extra money but wasn't really able to communicate clearly what that would be or give me any idea of the amount. We were eventually able to reach the owner, who apparently was busy with another client, but that was after the extra work had already commenced. We gave the go-ahead to stay on schedule, but still weren't sure until we reached him what was even being done. (As soon as we were able to reach him, he fully explained what was needed and why. It ended up being a $700 increase) Again, probably normal with construction jobs. We are the third family on our street to use this company in that last 30 days. Everyone's roofs look great and generally we've all been totally pleased, but I know there were a few major communication issues for them as well and therefore, that's the reason I mention it. Lastly, we weren't 100% excited about the final color, but we take credit for that. We asked some questions, but never having done this before didn't know exactly what to ask...."Does the color look lighter or darker when it's fully installed?", "Which colors go best with our color of brick?". Simple, obvious questions, but we figured we would get some guidance and suggestions when making our choice, which we didn?t, so I would have LOVED a little more coaching in that area. (Although, I?m sure he would have answered them if I had known what to ask) Funny enough, we found out afterwards that the contractor had a large photo gallery on his website with pictures, but we weren't told that. We were told to just look around at other houses, but that didn't help much as we only had a handful of colors to choose from. So in the future, I would suggest that the company help their clients with design aspects by making sure they are aware of all the tools and options available. Then if they would make sure that clear communication is happening between their teams, and that the client is being kept up on what's happening, I would definitely suggest them to others. In the end, they were honest and hard working and those are the most important requirements to us.

Fantastic! We were lucky to get an amazing crew of hard working men, who were on that roof during the hottest days of the year so far! Over 100 degree temps! Let me tell you, those guys knew their stuff. And when I brought something to their attention that I thought needed to be fixed, they were right on it with no complaints and took care of everything. They cleaned up all around our home and we were very satisfied. We've found us a very professional contractor which isn't always easy to do nowadays. I'd recommend them to anyone who asks. As a matter of fact, we are using them for more work that we need done on our home. To be continued??.

The only glitch was some old roofing material landed in a flower bed. We made one call and it was fixed right away. They were very good about cleaning up after themselves and gettine all of the nails left behind. There were a few but I had to really search. The new install is beautiful. I never thought they could do it all in one day. But they stayed until it was complete. It was the best price quote I could find also, Highly recommend.

We bought a home that needed some repairs on the roof - shingles that needed to be replaced and venting for the entire roof and out building. I contacted 3 other roofer from Angie's List through their websites and Gerald at IWC was the first to respond, the other companies didn't call me back until Gerald's guys were already out doing the work. The guys did a great job and were very communicative. Our roof looks great! Thanks Gerald!

It went very good, workers did a great job and cleaned everything after completion.

They did a great job! They said they would complete the job in one day and they did, they removed the old roof and replaced it within one day. The price was very reasonable. Their bid for premium 50 year shingles was as low or lower than other companies using 25 year shingles. The owner and workers were courteous and pleasant to work with. They did a thorough job cleaning up after the job.

My only complaint would be that where the tarp was, on the front lawn, to catch all of the old roofing materials while removing the old roof, left a yellowed spot where the tarp was. I believe that because the day that they removed the old roof was the hottest day of the year so far did have something to do with it. That is something that I can take care of, so I'm not too worried about it. They did an excellent job overall and am very satisfied with their work. My wife didn't like the mess, but were talking about replacing a roof here, no one does it without a mess! Thanks Intermountain West Contractors

We found IWC thru Angie's list and were very impressed with their reviews. We contacted Gerald and he set up an appointment for us with Josh. We were very impressed with his proposal and also the quality of the materials to be used. The roof cap/ vent was also a strong point. We did not get any other bids, as we were very pleased with Josh's proposal. The work was scheduled for 14 Jul and was to take 1 1/2 days. The dumpster was delivered the evening before. The crew arrived promptly at 0700 and began work. The crew was very professional and hard working. They kept the area as clean as possible as they went along. They finished up about 1730. It was very hot. On the 15th they arrived at 0715 and started in again. They finished up about noon and did a great job of cleaning up. The overall job was excellent, with the exception of the flashing on the skylight. I contacted Gerald and he sent Gary over to take a look. He had the crew foreman come over on the 17th, and he completely redid the skylight..it now looks great. We were very impressed with the new flashing everywhere on the roof and the quality and look of the shingles. They also were able to keep my rain gutters, which saved me some money. We were very pleased with the entire job. All the people that we dealt with were very helpful and professional. I do not think that you could find a better roofing crew than the one we had. Also, we were able to contact Gerald at any time. I would highly recommend IWC to anyone, and would use them again at the drop of a hat.

The reason for the refund request is when I first ordered the roofing deal, I didn't think it would go through until they started the work. I put the $5,750 on a credit card, but it wasn't a 0% card. By the time they were ready to start the job I had acquired a 0% card so I had them change the card number. Unfortunately you had already sent Intermountain the $5,750. Then Intermountain also charged my new card for the full job (my roof was bigger so the total was $7,600. I need to get the $5,750 off of that original card. Really Intermountain needs to refund the payment you gave them and then you need to cancel that charge on my original card (ends in 1397) The company did a good job, with a few minor issues that they were very ready to take care of so I don't really have any complaints.

We really enjoyed working with this company. He let us know when they would be at our home to do the work. They were true to their word. The workers were considerate of the comings and goings of our family--switching their work area to be sure we did not get hit with any of the debris. Our roof was done in two days. One of our sprinkler heads was broken; they reimbursed me for the damage without any argument. We really appreciate their work and feel very confident that Intermountain West Contractors is an excellent and reputable company. They made every effort to honestly address our concerns and our needs. The owner was very personable. Working with Intermountain Contractors has been a wonderful and positive experience. Thank you.

I received three bids and chose IWC because they had the best price. I was disappointed that I could not get the gutters done at the same time, since IWC does not do gutters, but I decided to go ahead and hire them anyway. I thought I would get the gutters done after the roof was replaced. Overall, I believe that the job they did on my roof was good, but I do not feel that I can recommend IWC to others because I did not end up paying what I was originally bid. I had two layers of shingles on the house (one layer on the garage) that needed to be removed, and 20 sheets of sheathing were included in the bid to replace some bad plywood on the roof. I was told that the entire job would take one full day. It ended up taking two days to complete the job. When Gerald called me to arrange payment, I was told they used 84 sheets of sheathing instead of the 20 originally bid, and that I owed in excess of $2,000 more than was bid. I was absolutely stunned! I could not understand why he did not tell me about the extra sheathing while the job was being done. I was home the entire time, and I did not notice any extra deliveries of materials. I got one call from Gerald's dad the first day, to see how everything was going, but he also did not mention needing extra wood. I was blindsided by the 20% increase in the final cost, and I feel that I was taken advantage of. Needless to say, I could not afford to have gutters installed, which was a HUGE disappointment! There were two additional issues: (1) I ended up having to call the dumpster company to come and pick up the dumpster, because Gerald did not return my call when I notified him that the dumpster was still blocking the driveway (the day after the job was completed), and (2) There is very a noticeable ridge, or lip, on the front of my house that should not be there. It looks like there are two different roof heights. I also continue to find nails and pieces of old tile in my flower beds every time I go out to plant or pull weeds.

Gerald called me the morning of the appointment when I was out and left me a message to call back. (Did not provide any other information) I returned the call immediately upon arriving home that morning. He never called me back or followed up in anyway.

I will start off this review by stating that the appearance of my new roof looks very nice. However, since spending $10,000.00 with this provider since March of this year, i am disappointed with the lack of communication and disrespectful treatment i have received. Here are the facts as I know and experienced: This provider installed all new windows in my home last March, of which i did give a nice "A" rated review. However, I must mention that Gerald called me frequently after the job was done, evenings and on weekends to request I complete my review....I can't help but wonder why he has not contacted me to get a review written on my new roof that was done over a month ago? I noticed that other clients made mention of his priorities of obtaining a review on Angie's list. Gerald was very nice and accommodating writing up a quote back in March and making the inital install date on the contract 'the end of may'. I asked my employer for May 22nd and 23rd off for vacation, as i VERBALLY told Gerald i could not take off work the very last week of May. My mistake, was not making him write these dates down on the contract. i had to call Gerald several times to inquire and verify if Thursday 5/22 or 5/23 were still set for my roof installation. He rudely stated no, and was not available at all during the week of May 19th. He then stated "WELL, your contract does say the end of May"...i again told him that i could not take off work during that last week of may....The job was finally scheduled for Monday June 2nd and was completed by 630 PM of same day. Now to the actual price i paid for this service - The contract was written up for 8487.00, minus discounts , which included a $300 discount for my late husbands military service, which is given by this providers Supplier. I informed Gerald that I too, was a honorably served military veteran, and would he find out of his supplier would grant an additional $300 for my service. He said he would inquire with his supplier and would let me know the outcome. NO call back or communication from Gerald on this issue. So, the final balance due written on the contract was $6357. After the Roofing job was completed , the dumpster was in my driveway and i could not get my car out....ONCE AGAIN, i had to call and leave a message about 'when' the dumpster was going to be removed. I received a call from Josh, who stated he is also part owner with Gerald. Josh was very nice, personable and respectful. He moved the dumpster for me to allow me to get my car out of the garage which i really appreciated. I mentioned to Josh about the possible additonal military discount for my military service, and that i received no communication from Gerald if their supplier was going to honor an additional $300 off. Josh was very nice and informed me that they would take an additional $100 off of the total, and he subtracted the $100 on my sales contract final total, and dated and initialed it. I gave Josh my credit card information for final payment of $6257.00. 2 days later, i checked my credit card statement and found out that $6357.00 was charged instead of $6257.00. I made 3 phone calls to Josh, and Stephanie advising of what happened. I was assured that this would be corrected...here it is , over 30 days later and it is not. At this point, they can keep the $100 that i was promised and cheated out of. The installation crew used my water hose and water considerably to rinse off the roof for whatever reason, and i now have water damage on the ceiling of my garage....I did not report this to the provider owners, because i had no trust or confidence they would help me or compensate for this damage. I have also picked up and stepped on in excess of 25 nails...fortunately i was wearing shoes when i stepped on the nails I can see that IW Contractors have many positive A reviews from other customers...i am very disappointed that my experience was not as positive. My feeling is that i was disrespected and taken advantage of on this roofing job. As a recent widow, i joined Angie's List to avoid these kinds of issues with contractors.... I gave this provider a D instead of an F, because my new roof does look really nice. However i have no confidence that this provider will help me if a problem should happen in the future.

We loved working with Gerald at Intermountain West Contractors. He was honest and fair and his team did a beautiful job on our new roof. They were very hardworking and removed our old roof and installed our new one in less than two days. They were awesome! I highly recommend Intermountain West Contractors!
