Gerald responded right away and came out within a few days. He went over everything with me in some detail and beat the one other bid I had by over 1,000 dollars with a better warranty on the labor and materials. I received a call at least a week in advance to schedule my appointment. The dumpster company called the night before (on a Sunday) to let me know by what time my car needed to be moved from the driveway, which was helpful. Monday morning the team showed up as scheduled. They moved flower pots and put down tarps and got right to work tearing off the old roof. The shingles showed up a little later and that crew talked to me in advance before bringing that big truck into the yard, which I appreciated. At the end of a very long day for the roofers, they had most of the work done and everything cleaned up. Honestly, my yard was cleaner than when they started even though conditions in my backyard were somewhat challenging for them. Tuesday morning they came back and had it finished within an hour or so and the dumpster was gone by the time they were done. The work crew was courteous and helpful and always careful to stop working as we came and went from the house. They were really hard workers and the roof looks great. I am waiting for a piece of new rain gutter and once that comes everything will be perfect!

I would recommend this company to anyone with roofing work. The free estimate process was simple and Josh was responsive over email to all of my follow up questions. Josh assisted me with getting shingle samples to my homeowners association for their approval. I received 5 bids on my roof replacement job and Intermountain West had a competitive price and warranty program. The crew worked incredibly hard. The clean up process that is the only part that could've been improved. The roofing crew finished on the 2nd day and it was dark when they finished so clean up could not be completed on day 2. The crew did not return to clean up on day 3 and then it snowed on day 4. I ended up trying to pick up what I could in the snow. After the snow partially melted, a clean up person did come out to clean up but I am still finding roofing material in the yard in the spring. Even with that said, I would still us this company again because of the great roofing work they did and competitive pricing.

The job went very smoothly and quickly. Josh easily determined it was a minor repair. One of the vents on the roof had never been properly sealed. He quickly fixed the problem and did not charge us. Josh was very professional. He also called to let us know when he would arrive at our home.

Intermountain West was referred to us by our good friends who were very pleased with the job they had done. So we contacted them as one of the three roofers who gave us bids. They were the most prepared when they came to visit, and they provided us with the lowest quote by far. They were very professional in all of our interactions with them. Our work had to be delayed twice due to weather, and Intermountain contacted us well in advance to make sure that the delays would work for our schedule, which we very much appreciated. When the day came for the job, the team arrived promptly at the promised time. The team was very courteous and kept us informed as to the progress of the job. They were very concerned about other items in our backyard, and they took special care to move and/or cover items (like our grill and our hot tub) so that they wouldn't be damaged. The work was done very quickly -- the entire job took less than two days to complete, when our neighbors who had similar work done on their roof had workers at their home for over 3 days. We are very pleased with our new roof, and couldn't be happier with Intermountain West. We have already recommended them to two of our friends who are considering roof repair jobs later this year.

It went extremely well. The owner was super responsive (The "B" was only because I had to call to remind them to pick up the dumpster) and was super nice to work with. They came exactly when they said they would on a Monday morning, worked that day and then again on Tuesday. Finished around noon on the second day. After the tear-off of the old roof was finished there was a guy who went around the entire yard with a giant magnet on wheels to pick up all the nails. I have yet to find any that were left in the lawn or flower beds. They also swept up the back yard porch area, honestly the back yard looks better than it has in years =).

They arrived on time, finished the job early despite a setback, and cleaned up pretty well. The crew worked very hard, and hardly took any breaks. I would recommend them.

yWe have a large custom home and live at a high elevation with heavy winter snow. I had originally contracted another firm but they missed several dates and ultimately went IWC. Gerald was quick to return my calls and make suggestions. We opted to put slip metal on the north facing roof and are happy with the results. Gerald's crew were courteous and professional. The roof looks great. The crew were meticulous in their clean up. Gerald called several times to make sure I was happy with the job.

The job went very well. They were on time and very professional. We solicited 5 bids and they were lowest cost. The material and scope of work were the same as the other four bids. They cleaned up all material and finished slightly ahead of schedule. We a are very happy with this company and would recommend them to anyone.

The owners of Intermountain West Contractors Gerald and Josh were great to work with. I had wind damage on my roof which required a total over lay of new shingles. Josh came to my house to do the estimate. He was one of three estimates and the only one that truly came prepared. After coming off the roof he explained to me in detail the materials need and showed me several options to choose from, and the cost right then and there. Their estimate came in between the other two but Intermountain West was defiantly the best value for the money. The roofing crew was great also. They were very experienced so you get the job done very quickly without sacrificing quality. They were in and out in four hours. That included putting down 22 squares of shingles, 72 feet of roof ridge venting, and painted all the roof pipe vents to match the shingles. Also cleaned up when they were done. I would highly recommend Intermountain West Contractors for any and all your roofing needs. Job well done. THANKS

Called Intermountain West for a bid on replacing our 20 year old roof. Josh came out the next afternoon and walked the roof with me. Clearly knew his business, explained exactly what they would do and answered all my questions. Listened patiently to all my concerns and addressed them without hesitation or waffling. I had three bids for the job; Intermountain's was right in the middle, but I felt much more comfortable with them. Was willing to put everything he said right in the contract, no problem. He also offered to put a larger crew on the job so that it was done sooner. The crew showed up right on time. From the get-go they were respectful of our property. They put drop cloths everywhere. They cleaned the place up every night so we never felt like we were living in the middle of a construction zone. When I had a question during the work Josh addressed it immediately. When he bid the job he told me 3-1/2 days; they were done in 3-1/2 days. When they left you couldn't tell they had been there -- except that I now had brand new roof. Gerald, the owner, came out to inspect when the work was done; we were thrilled with the work but there were a couple little things he didn't like so he sent the crew back out to fix it. Wow! I've had a lot of work done over the years; I don't think I've ever had a contractor as responsive or a crew as hardworking and careful as these guys. My neighbor came over to check things out, now he's having his roof replace by IWC. Can't recommend Intermountain West highly enough. 200+ reviews on Angie's List and they all say the same thing.

.The owner of IWC, Gerald, came to our house and gave us an estimate to re-shingle our roof, including adding ridge vents, removing the old unused swamp cooler, and totally re-roofing our sunroom. His estimate was better than others we had received with more guarantee so we went ahead with the work. Gerald and his employees were great to work with, the work was completed timely (with a little rain delay, not their fault), clean up was great. We would absolutely use IWC again and highly recommend them to anyone.

I had a leak over the front entrance to my house. I called the owner late in the afternoon and he had three workers at my house at 8:30 the next morning. The roof was frozen so they said they would be back in a couple of hours. Two hours later they returned and preformed the necessary repairs. The lead man gave me his personal phone number and told me that if there was any leak or any problems please call him directly and he would be right over to fix any problems. I understand why they have such a good Angie's Rating because this is an exceptional company.

The men who worked on our roof were polite and professional. Tarps were put on the ground around the house to catch everything including nails, small pieces of wood and shingles, making the cleanup quick and easy. They removed two layers of cedar shingles, two layers of asphalt shingles and rotten wood. Then put on a new roof deck, ice and water shield, synthetic felt, asphalt shingles, fiberglass ridge cap, ridge vent attic ventalation, pipe flashing and re-sealed heating vents and chimneys. They did a super job cleaning up, the lawn looked as if nothing was thrown off the roof. The ugly leaky roof is now beautiful thanks to Intermountain West Contractors, West Jordan, UT, Gerald Sommer and Josh Moore.

The work was done quite fast, a day and a half as projected. I have a tricky area around my chimney where the snow and water gather and had leaks prior to the repair that I had sealed temporarily. I had a leak shortly after the roof was done. I contacted Gerald and he had two personnel come out within a day (Sunday) and repair the leak. He also followed up to make sure the roof was good. Intermountain personnel are very professional and respectful. They work with you and respond promptly with any questions or concerns.

Gerald gave us a great price on this job and was willing to answer all of our questions. The job went very well and they provided good follow-up service to remove some wires etc. left after the job was completely. Because of their professional service, we will be using IWC again to take care of some gutter problems we've been having. We'll let you know how that goes.

When we do additions to our house or replace something we like to have it done the right way. My first concern when hiring a contractor is to pick one that does it the right way. There are many contractors out there that are happy to work with you to get the job, but they do a sloppy job and cut corners. We decided to open up an Angie's List account so that we could read reviews on the different roofing companies available. We contacted IWC and got a call from Gerald, the owner, and worked with him for the bid and scheduling the project. I believed Gerald and his company would get the roof done the right way so we chose to have him do it. I was really torn on replacing the roof myself or hiring it out as I have helped my dad replace a couple of roofs. I also know that you can save a ton of money on replacing the roof yourself but you don't get the warranty that you can get with a professional roofing company. If you have a leak in your roof you could spend a lot of money having a professional do it the right way. One of my brothers-in-law actually experienced this and they wound up hiring a professional to fix it. I believe IWC replaced the roof the right way and did not cut any corners. When it comes to a new roof, it is best to have it done the right way. Gerald is really interested in doing the best work possible to not only satisfy the customer but he also wants to uphold his reputation. We just recently had a flood in our house from a faulty toilet and the last thing we wanted is another flood, especially from a leaky roof. Our roof was 20 years old and shingles were blowing off frequently. I was really impressed with how fast they replaced the roof. Granted, we picked a slower time of the year to have it redone so I wouldn't have expected it to be scheduled so soon if I had done it in the spring or summer months. They started the project on a Thursday morning and had it completed by evening the next day. I was really curious about the ridge cap so I decided to take a look in there, and sure enough they did cut the ridge so that the ridge cap can work properly. I have seen cases where ridge caps are installed but the roofers don't actually cut the ridge line so that it can function as expected. The ridge cap is designed to increase the airflow in your attic, which is a must to keep it dry and fresh. We both feel a lot more comfortable about the upcoming winter and likely rain and snow with our new roof.

I don't know how he did it, but Gerald got the crew and materials scheduled so quickly, I had a new roof a week after he came out for the bid. I was very worried about having to replace a roof in December, so his quick response time was a big factor in my selecting his company. The roof is beautiful, and Gerald was very attentive and concerned that everything went well.

Very well. One incident where a roofer slipped and damaged the ceiling in the living room. Adequate repairs were made with only a minor loss of insulation.

The entire process went smoothly. I initially met with Mr. Gerald Sommer with Intermountain West Contractors at my home, he took measurements and was able to instantly give me a quote on scene within a few minutes. That was unexpected as the other places I contacted, I had to wait several days to a week. Then I was presented with an information packet that contained information regarding the product to include color photographs with style examples, color choices and further to explain the warranty and other information. Not only was I given this packet, but Gerald explained everything in the packet to me. This was awesome, because I didn't know very much about roofing and after seeing the information, it was easy to understand what it was that I would be paying for. I then had the information that I needed and after sharing the information with my wife and choosing a color. I contacted Mr. Sommer that I wanted to get the project started. I was given a date within the next week. The workers arrived early morning and immediately began working: The 1st day the entire roof was cleared of the old shingles, the new shingles were delivered and ready. Day 2: Early A.M. the workers arrived and promptly began working. I don't even think that they took a lunch break that day so I went and bought them drinks and a snack. They were very friendly and professional, the work as completed as expected and I was am very happy with the end results, my lovely wife was even happier. I hope to do business again when I am ready for new windows. Thanks again

I actually got two other estimates and though they were not the least expensive, they were prompt with their estimate and follow up with my questions. They were complete with their explanations and I felt no pressure. The day before the planned work was to be done they called and said they needed one more day to finish the current project and since my job was an estimated two day job -Tuesday and Wednesday - they delayed it so there would not be a mess over Thanksgiving. (one day before and one day after.) They did however deliver the shingles as planned. The morning after Thanksgiving they showed up early and actually finished in only one day, They spread tarps to catch the debris, cleaned up very carefully and even after the dumpster was removed to the street and before they drove off, the driveway was swept clean. Even the office person on the phone was extremely helpful.

The Intermountain West Contractor's crew arrived at 8:00 am and started the job immediately. The entire perimeter of the house was protected with tarps to catch all of the old material falling from the roof. The roof was completely stripped by noon. The crew took a lunch break while the new shingles were being delivered to the rooftop by the supplier. After lunch the crew had to wait for a few minutes while the material delivery was completed.Then the crew was right back to work until it got too dark to safely work on a fairly steep roof. The next morning the crew was again on the job at 8:00 am. The roofing was completed by late afternoon. Then the cleanup up was undertaken. All of the grass and gardens were scanned with big magnets to catch any wayward nails from the old roof. The area around the house was cleaner after the job was done than before it started. Every member of the crew was polite and displayed unfailing professional behavior while on the job. I cannot praise this company any higher. The entire process from the initial bid to the completed job was as pleasant as a major home repair like a new roof could possibly be. I would recommend this company to my friends and anyone else who is in need of roof repair.

Everything went well with the worker's doing a great job installing and cleaning up each day until the job was completed. We would definitely use them again.
