S & S Excavating

Tom Summers is the owner of this Company. We live in a one acre lot and 1/3 of the Wat next to the highway needed levelling and clearing. Actually we had to call them back to pick some of the tree stump, twigs, and tree parts that they left behind. One needs to be patient with this company. As we had a July 13 estimate and it took us until last week to actually get them to do the work after we had notified them. Probably it could be because they are busy. The workers do good work. They do landscaping and excavating but excavating seem to be their number one thing. We may not use them in the future. They promised to be here to pick up all of the stuff that they left. Basically it is a problem of communication between Tom the owner and Larry his brother who drives the gritter. We talk to Tom and tell him what we want to be done. Tom talks to Larry and Larry pretty much does what he wants to do. Tom promised us last Friday that Larry would pick up all of the tree fresh that was left when he announced that he could not get it out because it was under the roots, so my 60 year old wife with rheumatoid arthritis spend all weekend racking up these underground roots. Now I see 10 pretty large piles of 1 inch thick roots. Apparently Larry was more concerned about the time being 5 O’clock than being done with the job. 15 minutes after Tom was gone Larry jumped into his truck and drove off. We contacted Tom on Friday afternoon and told him that we are not at all happy that the promised work was not in fact done. He promised that he would be here on Monday to finish up. On Monday I called the office and they said that they will be here on Tuesday. Now it is 10 O’clock and I am still waiting. So it is a matter of waiting on their word. It is a kind of a nuisance and not what we expected.
