Description of Work: I was initially very excited to receive a bid from Retrospect, however, the owner cancelled on me which was not a big deal and we rescheduled the bid for the following week, but he never showed up nor did he call to let me know he couldn't make it. Very disappointing since I used Angie's List to find someone reputable.

Description of Work: Retrospect created an amazing open concept living/dinning/kitchen/bonus room that required adding an additional 385 sq feet to the existing home. They paid close attention to details and gave great suggestions. They always showed up when they said they would, put in a full day, and cleaned up before they left. I had heard nightmare stories about remodeling, but Retrospect made the process a very positive, and often times, an enjoyable journey.

 + 4 moreContacted Dan Curtis for estimate. Arrived in timely manner to inspect shower. Explained what had to be done pending any unforseen problems that would be addressed if found. E-mailed estimate that evening. Accepted. Dan was very promt in communicating with us and returned our phone calls in a timely manner. If Dan was running a bit late, he would call us, apologize for running late and then let us know that he was on his way. Dan was prompt, courteous and kept us informed as to the progress of work. Work performed and completed in a very timely time frame. Cleaned up after each work day. All work was done to our complete satisfaction. Dan did an excellent job and we would use him again in the future. We highly recommend Dan.
Description of Work: Master bathroom shower. Disassembled shower enclosure. Removed water damaged drywall. Replaced shower base due to improper installation by original contractor in 1999. Replaced green board behind and to side of shower. Reenforced wall behind shower to permit proper attachment of marble backing of shower to wall. Installed new shower drain. Reinstalled shower enclosure with new caulking. Excellent job done. Had basic light fixtures installed in pantry in kitchen and storage space underneath stairwell. Again, excellent work.

 + 0 moreA friend recommended this company becaue they had had a good experience with them.I caled on a Friday and he was here on Saturday to see what needed to be done.I had an idea of what I wanted, he looked it over and made some suggestions that were much better.I chose the style and within two days I had received a bid. I went with it and within about a week he was back to get the stain I wanted. Again, I was so impressed with his insight.The railing was installed and it looks beautiful. Much better than I had imagined.

 + 1 moreWe contacted Mr. Dan Curtis from year list before we ordered the tub. He came right over, gave us on estimate what to work as soon as the to lub arrived. Very good work.
Description of Work: Installed walk in tub. 1st toking our old tub, enlarging entire door. Re-plumed the new tub. Tiled the floor because the new tub was smaller than old. Restored door way.

 + 7 moreMy renters completely trashed my duplex. Dan gave me estimates and we talked about all repairs needing done. He is very meticulous and fast. I needed someone who knew it all instead of calling in different contractors. I am extremely pleased with all work done by Retrospect Building & Design.
Description of Work: Dan did alot of general contracting repairs to my trashed duplex. Built walls, fixed electrical problems, remodeled and rebuilt front entryway, hanging new doors. Added trim to the outside windows, rebuilt patios, made new cabinets.patched and painted walls.

 + -1 moreDan removed the old and very yucky materials and hauled them away. He moved one entire wall and built a larger shower. He gave us options on where to shop for tile and flooring and made suggestions. The finished look is fabulous. I really like the tile and would definitely use him again.
Description of Work: Due to the dryer vent never being hooked up to the outside, our bathroom (which is also the laundry room) had mold and years of dryer lint inside of the walls. We decided to remodel the whole room.
