+ -1 morePurchased Pella doors and windows and had the Draper office install on a brand new build. The doors failed the first year, snow blew in between the door and track. Called the office to have this repaired their solution was a 3rd party weather strip. Geoff Short head of sales told me; the stripping would have to be repaired every 5 years or so; the doors i purchased were not designed for the mountain environment and Pella had redesigned the doors; they would give me a discount on the new doors. I installed new doors (Marvin) and they gave me a bigger discount, the sales representative felt terrible how Pella had treated me. I'm in the construction business and have never seen such low ethics in a business situation, i would not do business with the the Draper group or Pella. Pella national was contacted and did nothing.

+ 0 moreThe salesman was at my house for 21/2 hours. He knocked a plant off of a shelf and broke the vase while he was measuring. He have me incorrect information. When I priced the same work once they were done, it was way over billed. The salesman made promises the Pella company refused to comply with. My first experience with Pella was so good. I didn't hesitate to call them when I needed more windows. I was really disappointed this time.

Description of Work: Took out old plain wood doors and installed nice French door and sidelight. They did a great job and explained to me what to use for filler under the upper part of door frame due to the old wall being thicker at bottom than top (it was easy to do). The sales guy was knowledgable about costs for different options and time it would take for door to be ready. Pella isn't cheap but they are worth it.

Description of Work: Fixed a large casement window that wouldn't close by adding a shim & moving hardware. Gave a a new handle (old one was stripped). Then offered to check all my other windows. Added a shim to one & Gave me tabs that hold the screens in-after 30 years a few were missing.

Description of Work: They were recommended by our trusted contractor who also contacted them to convey we were long time customers. An estimator came out, but then remembered another appointment and could not accompany us to their showroom, but assured us that Krista would help us. Let me emphasize here, I let both the estimator and krista know that we had never purchased/invested in a new front door and that we depended on their expertise. Upshot was that we were not advised that interior casing was not included , the door we got was missing decorative items we ordered and the installer, who was out of the loop due to a fall resulting in a broken neck, and who would have been responsible for casing, there was no follow thru by the company. Not the experience I was hoping for at this price.

Description of Work: We have got windows that use a little hand crank to open them up and the crank itself had rounded off and my wife called them and she replaced them also. We described what it was and they shipped it to us.

+ 0 moreThe windows are beautiful and worth the money. It has made our home more energy efficient. When we first got the windows my husband couldn't believe how pretty they were. Installation was perfect and completed on-time and clean-up was very good. These windows have really enhanced the interior of our home. One of the reasons we went with them is that having Pella window helps with selling a home as it did with my Father's home.
Description of Work: Most recently they installed one window for us. Over the last few years they have replaced all the windows in our home, including the sunroom. They are triple-pane windows. In the past they also installed french doors into the sunroom. They also stained the wood to match the finish throughout our home.

+ -1 moreWhen they came about four years ago it was a better situation. They redid the front door and didn't charge me. They could not have been nicer about fixing the door. The quality is very good. They only part I had a problem with is the window are heavy so it makes cleaning them difficult. The windows they put in the kitchen are triple-paned and are really hard to open and close. At the bottom there's a little rubber flap that has curled and makes it so it can't close completely. The installers were very efficient and made sure I was satisfied. As far as customer service they were very professional.

+ -1 moreI had some issues with the windows they initially installed about three years prior. Three people had come and let me know the truck broke down so they were late. They had a rental truck and not all the equipment needed to complete the windows. It was November and at about 5pm they left after taking all the windows down and placing the new ones with shims; I didn't know if they were coming back. Also, when they installed a small single pane window upstairs they installed an inexpensive ledge between the window and the wall. The rest of the windows were triple-pane. Also, when they were touching things up he painted carelessly and I needed to clean up after them. I was not happy with the installers. One of the windows in the master bedroom still makes a funny cracking noise once in awhile.
Description of Work: They were installing double doors and all the windows upstairs which included three bedrooms and a bathroom. They also replaced the large picture window downstairs.

I made the decision based on the product itself, along with research on the internet and speaking with other homeowners in the community.
Description of Work: I ended up not choosing Pella for my wood window replacements on the remodel of the historic home I purchased.

+ 0 moreI was extremely pleased with the service they provided. Jennifer Coombs, the sales representative was excellent. She came out several times and she used her computer to help me look at what I could chose from. They are good to work with and I would recommend Pella over other companies. I did have a problem with the locking system on the door, but they came out and replaced the entire lock and it's worked fine ever since. I knew the quality of the product was going to be good compared to the other companies I spoke with. The price was fair and only a few hundred dollars more than another company and it was of much better quality. I would recommend them to others.

We really enjoyed working with the salesperson at Pella and the guy that does the installation does a very good job as well. We are very pleased with them.
Description of Work: Pella Windows have installed windows for me. We put in triple pane windows since we live up in the mountains. They did the downstairs of my house three years ago and they are now doing the upstairs. They also redid my front door.

Description of Work: Ordered a new door at the end of may 2011. Got interior trim finally installed on 09-26-2011. I like the product,like the installers but once Pella get your money the service goes down hill in a hurry. Took a long time to get door which was ok since we knew. Installed the door but had wrong trim. So Pella reordered then sent trim to us and not installer. Called to let Pella know trim had been sent to us and did not get a call back. Called home office who had salesman call us back. Installer did not show at scheduled time because no one had told him the trim had been sent to us. Called the Home office again to get salesman to call back. Installer call and asked us to look at trim to make sure it was correct. Of course it was not. Installer came and pickup new trim. Waited a week heard nothing so called the salesman and found out noone had ordered new trim. Salesman wanted to see trim sent before he reordered.They do not have trim that matches the door because one is fiberglass and the trim is wood so they do not stain the same. We must be the first people that would like the trim to match the door? Pick out trim from samples that was close to matching door. After another four weeks we got the final trim installed. Pell's service system is broken. Salesman said he is not involved once the door is order. The installer said Pella does not want him to call customers. The sevice appointment are made out of Salt Lake or back east some where Iam not sure. They do not call back to confirm and cancel appointments. Pella gives a discount if you pay money up front. That will be the last time I make that mistake. I never figured out who to call after the sale.

+ -1 moreThis is a franchise store. The price was very high. The experience was quite positive. The price of windows was less at another store where they sell these windows. I do not think that the windows were of good quality but I might use them in the future if needed. The people there were nice and responsive.
