When the contractor completed the pour and started to build the garage, they overfilled the chalk box and red chalk spilled on the new unsealed concrete. They did not clean up the mess and continued to work, tracking the red chalk all over the new driveway, garage pad, and dog kennel area. They also placed the wood that was to be used to build the garage on the new driveway which, when it rained, stained the driveway. After several times of asking them to clean it up they attempted to use a power washer and steam cleanerer which did not work. They attempted to remove the stains with an acid wash which left black burn marks on the driveway. All of this caused a brand new concrete driveway to look as if it was 20 years old. There were also problems with the grading of the driveway. There were 4 large puddles that would not drain off. We ended up tearing out the brand new driveway and had another contractor repour it. Upon removal of the driveway poured a little over a month previously, we found no subgrade was put down, the concrete thickness ranged from 2 1/2 in one area to 7 inches thick just a few feet away. The contractor had also poured concrete over the cement runoff from the foundation/pad. They left garbage in our yard that we had to ask at least 5 times before they would haul it off. They splattered concrete over the pre-existing carport and patio as well as a wall that makes up the frame of the covered parking area of our home. There roofer would not show up with his own ladder but would always use ours to get on the roof and finish his project. The contractors would show up mid morning and usually ended about 3:00 pm. This project took them from the end of July to the end of Septmeber to complete.
