They were on time with great service & tips on the system.

They came and did what we asked them to do and they did a good job.

It started off well, he was nice and courteous until it turned into a sales pitch. He said the coils were bad, and I shouldn't replace them with the freon(?) ones because they are getting so expensive, but he wanted me to replace them with the puron(?) ones. Which in turn meant he wanted to sell me a new compressor, and because all that was being replaced I would also need to get a new furnace. He offered me a special deal for like $5,000 to replace it all. Well I decided I'd talk it over with my spouse first. He left, and the only thing I wanted to be fixed (the blower than would NOT stop) was still blowing. He said it should turn off and it was probably because the filter was old that it's been floating. Fast forward a week, we had to call someone else because the fan/blower still hadn't stopped. We had a guy out from a different company and in about 5 minutes he noticed the pilot light was out on the furnace and re-lit it and TA DA, the fan stopped. Problem solved. No new coils, compressor, or furnace. No sales pitch. However, I know my equipment is getting old, and I'll probably have to replace it sooner that later. When I do, I'll likely call this other company. Just to note, this is my first bad experience with Angie's List. Usually everyone has turned out just great!

I was selling my house, and the buyer requested that my HVAC system be serviced. It was 8 years old, and had never had any problems. I was concerned that the technician would find something "wrong" and want to "fix" it for big bucks. He took about 30 minutes in which he turned on the furnace for inspection and then turned the ac back on for testing. He left me with a report of every point of inspection, including items which required further attention. He found nothing amiss with my system. Happy customer.

It well went. They didn’t charge anything extra. They diagnosed what the issue was.

Doug and the other technicians are very polite, friendly, and punctual. The installation took about an hour less than they had estimated and the techs cleaned up after themselves and expleained how our new American Standard 17 SEER works. At first I was a little annoyed that the unit we had purchased odly didn't qualify for a Rocky Mnt Power rebate. Now that I have seen the power savings on 3-4 power bills, I am very happy. Our energy usage was cut by about 50% and we are keeping the house cooler and using the fan setting frequently. Overall, I am very satisfied and will use Humphrey Heating and Air in the future.

Note that the cost of service was total for 3 visits. The scheduler gave us a date two days out. We mentioned we had an elderly invalid in the home and asked if anyone cancelled that we be moved up in the schedule. Within an hour we got a call moving us up a half day. Within another hour or so we recived another call saying the technician would be there that day. WOW! Technician (Shane) discovered a burnt out inducer motor (no wonder the house filled with smoke and set off all the alarms!). Shane ordered the part and returned the following day to install it. He also pointed out that the A/C coil was covered in lint and was that might cause condensation and freezing problems. We had experienced condensation problems (with wet carpets) last year but had not had any this year. We said we would call if we needed that fixed. Within a few weeks we started experiencing the wet carpets again. We called Humprey's and requested Shane. He was there early the next morning. This is a 40+ year old unit and he was forced to build an access panel into the coil area (so we knew it had 40 years of dust collected). He also had to go into a wet crawlspace to clean the condensation drain from the buildup of lint in the pipe. He did all of this quickly, professionally, and with a smile and without any negativity. The new access panel looks very good. Shane was very professional and explained what he was doing as he worked. If we need HVAC work again we will call Humphrey's (and we will ask for Shane).

Beginning with the quote, Humphrey's beat out three other companies that came by for bids. The quotes given were from standard 13 Seer AC / 80% Furnaces, up to some much higher level options, but all with very good discounts. Ultimately I went with the basic systems, which was quoted at 7,800 (less than 2K per Trane unit, installed). The installation went well, as all four units were in place by the time I was getting home from work, and were beginning to cool the place down nicely. Everything was cleaned up well, and Humphrey's even took care of a ventilation problem they had seen with the water heater. Total price was the very 7,800 price quoted. Nicely done.

So he came out and looked at my air conditioner inside and out and pronounced it unusable and in great need of replacing. He gave me an estimate of what installing a new one would cost. I was somewhat upset and started to do some research on prices. I left the air conditioner off but when the weather got hotter (about 2 weeks later) I turned it on and it worked, perfectly. 2 1/ months later, it is still working PERFECTLY. Needless to say, I am not convinced that my air conditioner is in great need of replacing. This is the 3rd time I've been told the air conditioner (and twice for the furnace) needs replacing. Granted, it and the furnace are about 10 or 12 years old and both will likely need replacing, some day. But I am getting very tired of being told both are failing then having both work just fine with minor repairs or, as in this case, a preseason tune-up. The service man was polite and the tune up was done. The cost was exactly as the coupon amount.

I paid 100.00 and they really didn't do anything. He inspected the A/C unit and made sure it was blowing cold air with a thermometer up to the vent, then when we went to inspect the furnace he looked at the filter and the fan and said it was clean so it was pointless looking at the other components. The other furnace was in an attic, it controls the top floor, so he didn't get up to look at it at all assuming it was also clean. Basically said all levels are fine, both units are blowing cold air and eventually the capacitors will go bad. The tech was super nice and on time, I just really didn't feel like anything was improved at all. It was looked at, sort of, nothing cleaned or lubed, no adjustments to anything, thermostats wasn't checked. It really was nothing like what was explained in the details.

Technician also pointed out that the original installers of my high efficiency furnace did NOT install the exhaust pipe to meet safety code. (too close to bedroom windows). Also pointed out there was a break in the exhaust pipe from the furnace that was allowing fumes to be vented in my basement. I WILL be calling them back this fall to correct these issues. I am totally pleased with their knowledge and expertise and recommend them to anyone needing either air-conditioning or furnace services...

Came early and the same day we called. Very reasonable. I would definitely call him again.

Doug found the problem quickly and fixed it really fast for a fair price. I am very happy with Humphrey Heating and Air! All employtees seem to really care about making things right. They return calls promptly, schedule appointments very quickly, they are courteous and very respectful. This was the second time they've been to my house, and I will use them again if need be.

One worker Chris showed up on time. The owner and one other worker came shortly after. Two left around or so leaving Chris to do all the rest of the work.......until 10:15 PM! Unprofessional decision. Chris did an excellent job and was very thorough, despite being hungry and exhausted. I'm totally LOVING my cool home :) The upper level isn't cooling as well as I'd prefer, but this is an old home (1940) so the ductwork may be an issue. Also, there is only one vent in each room. One other suggestion is that if something has been broken (in my case, a lamp), I would prefer to be told up front rather than letting my feet find the glass some time later.

Doug was very professional, and very helpful. He clearly explained everything, and took the time to walk me through everything that he was doing. We were very happy with his work ethic, and would happily hire him again.

Our air conditioning went out and it was hotter in the house than outside (that day was 103 degrees)! I made several calls to try to get someone to come out and was told it was the "busy season" and no one could come for a week or more. When I called Humphrey's Heating and Air I talked to Linda. I explained that I had just come home from the hospital to a hot house and needed help. She told me she would see what she could arrange. She called me back within five minutes and said that Chad (the owner) would come out later that same day between 5 and 7pm. Chad arrived at 5pm, told us what the problem was and went right to work. He not only got the air conditioning working but also changed a light bulb in the ceiling for us!! Chad was very professional, polite and friendly and we so appreciated the quick responce. We are very impressed that the owner would jump in to help us. We will be using Humphrey's from now on and have tod our friends of our great experience. We highly recommend this business!

Called at 8am. Secretary returned call at 8:30am. Made appointment for 5pm. I thought this was great considering this is the busiest time of year. Service technician called at 11:00am. He had finished a job early and asked if it would be convenient for him to come right over. Now that is nice! He was there at 11:30 and finished by 1:00 pm. He was very helpful, respectful and knowledgeable. My overall impression was a great service!

It was good, but I felt that it was mostly an upsale situation. I was being advised to get a new unit and install. Our AC is older, but provider was somehow reluctant to try and add refrigerant to fix the problem. Very polite, prompt, and professional in demeanor, however. Jury is still out, I would perhaps use these guys again, but I'm still dealing with a tepid air temp flowing out of our vents instead of actually, cooled air blowing. Part of the problem was my follow up issue. He gave us 2 options to try and fix our unit, we didn't end up using either.

I was extremely pleased with this company and the individuals employed there. They were extremely responsive and when I decided to replace my AC unit they were able to come the next day to install. Not only were they punctual but they were professional, knowledgable, courteous and efficient. I felt the price was very reasonable and did not feel pressured or like I was getting high pressure sell tactics. An added bonus; they were personable and LOVED my elderly lab. I did not get all of their names but Doug and the rest if the crew did a fantastic job and because of them I will be a life time customer of Humphreys for my heating and cooling needs. I would highly recommend them.

Chad responded promptly to an emergency call on a Saturday to my rental's AC blowing hot air. As it turned out it was just user error with the thermostat. I appreciated Humphrey's willingness to come out on a Saturday for no extra charge and Chad's honesty. So many companies want to over charge for work done at a rental, its refreshing to have a company tell you there is no issue instead of over charging for work that does not need to be done.

It went very well. The fellow was on time and went to work and checked everything out and found it to be in good working condition. He cleaned and oiled the unit.
