Replace concrete deck around swimming with stamped and stained concrete Wayne Carter and his Caprock Concrete crew did a great job removing my pool deck; however, the replacement part did not go so well. When preparing for deck replacement they install a pool coping retaining wall to support the concrete edge of the pool while dry. My pool is 9ft deep and he did not want to install the coping support in the deep end as he would have to build temp scaffolding so, he rigged the concrete supports with wire and poured the concrete, Well, all looked great except the deep end where both side of the coping fell into the pool when the concrete was poured. This left my pool deck flat in these 2 areas and the rest of the deck had a nice rounded edge. Wayne told me not to worry that he would fix it. While trying to patch the 2 area Wayne asked for an advance on more money and I agreed (this was my mistake). Well his 2 patched areas fell off after a month or so. I received no more service from that point. Now more than a year later and I still can?t get him or his team back to finish the deck so, I am now paying another contractor over a$1000 to fix the 2 areas. Despite my wife and I calling him and talking in a very respectful manner but in direct and respectful tone, asking him to come back and fix the deck, he still chooses to ignore our requests. I believe in giving second chances but this guy truly is not honest.

I hired Caprock Concrete (aka Wayne Carter) to install new concrete deck around my pool. Just after starting he said he under bid the work because the existing deck was thicker than he guessed. He then went on to remove the deck and began working to lay the new concrete. He only had edge forms for half the pool deck so, he laid half the deck then stopped for 3 weeks before returning to complete the other half. When he returned he was in a rush and did not mount the side forms properly and the concrete was laid with no edge in numerous areas around my pool. He assured me he would be back to repair and asked for advance on his money. I paid him (my stupidity) and not seen him since. Have been calling for 2 years now, to have fixed and get same old story that he is busy and to call him back later. I have never worked with someone like this and am now very grateful for Angie?s List to help screen in the future. By the way, I even paid additional above the quote because of his over run on the deck removal. My pool deck is a mess and I will have to install new deck again.
