Greg Mattingly Painting Contractor & Handyman

Description of Work: I've used Greg's services for a decade. He has a huge, dedicated and loyal following in this area and a superb reputation. He is VERY honest, reliable, dependable, punctual and arrives with great attitude and eager to please his client. He is reasonably priced and will do darn near any job you have for him - even changing out a light bulb. He has performed a vast array of services at my homes over the years. The most recent job was to remedy an exterior water leakage problem that had created a mold issue in an interior room. He first assisted by determining where the problem was coming from outside and then opened up parts of a few interior walls, thus helping me to determine if I needed to bring in a mold remediation company for the interior issue, which I eventually did. He first fixed the outside water leak issue. This involved engineering a (cleaver!) system underneath the upper deck so the water would drain away from the house - which is in a difficult area that was challenging to access. Problem ONE solved. Once the mold remediation company finished cleaning up the problem I asked Greg to put the room back together for me. Because I'd not used this remediation company before I didn't know if I could trust them to put the room back perfectly and get the paint and texturing just right. The texture on the walls is a very tricky style and the metallic type paint was a three step process which Greg is masterful at. So... On the inside of the house Greg replaced all of the insulation and drywall (from the ground to about 3 ft. up), carefully matched the plastering and did a superb job matching the pain perfectly and reattached the base boards. Problem TWO solved. No one would ever know any work was done. AWESOME!!! During this time, Greg also repaired the railing on the upper deck which had begun to lean out - dangerous! He also changed out the top of the railing with proper wood and proper type paint (which the previous person living here used the wrong wood & wrong paint and the top of the railing kept rotting and they wondered why???) Well, if you hire a great professional you get great professional results. I could go on and on bragging about Greg's services. So, don't be shy. If you have a job - even if it's a little one - he'll come and take a look at it. If he says he's going to show up at a certain time & work until a certain time, he's there. He's works in an efficient manner - no dragging along with him. That's hard to find anywhere but especially in these small towns.
