This was a provider that was picked by my home warranty service. The provider came out on a scheduled date (7/25/2014). However, the appointment time was set for 8-10 am. They did not show up to the house until 1:30 pm. and I didn't get a call until around 1 pm after trying to contact someone at the office with no response. When they finally made it, they didn't have the part that was needed and said they would have to come back out another day to replace the motor. They scheduled to come back out on 7/28/2014, but again, were over an hour past the scheduled window time. HERE IS THE KICKER: They replaced the motor in the WRONG A/C unit and unfortunately, I didn't realize it until they were gone and the work was done. Different serial numbers, different units. Now I am still waiting to have someone come back and fix the broken unit, so I am at the very least dissatisfied with the service. UPDATE: After I had initially submitted this review, we spent time on the phone trying to explain the situation to the owner (Rick), who tried to argue with both me and my husband and swore up and down that they did nothing wrong. I had to then contact my warranty company, who sent another A/C company out, who VERIFIED the A/C was still broken and they had put the motor in the wrong A/C unit.

Awful. Pro Tech was referred to us by American Home Shield to determine what was wrong with our air conditioning unit - it was not cooling the house. When the tech (Johnny) came to our house, and looked at the units, and said "how old are these things?" The house is about 15 years old. Then he saw that the unit was frozen, and said "why didn't you turn it off". This started the discussion downhill. Johnny was condescending, and rude, and told me "if you are going to have someone take a look at your units, you should know to turn them off first. I can't do anything". Then he went into the attic, and came down and told me about all these problems I have, none of which have anything to do with the air conditioning. Things got a little heated at that point, because as he was condescending me, I caught him lying to me about something (verified later when I went up into the attic). He excused himself, went to his truck, smoked a cigarette, threw the butt on my driveway, got out of his truck, and handed me a service bill, which I refused. I told him that I would be happy to pay the $75 dollars when the service which we retained American Homeshield for, and that which they referred to Pro Tech for was completed. He then left. I called the office and left them a message that I needed to speak with someone about this, and they have not called me back.
Description of Work: There were no services performed - the technician walked around, went up in the attic, told me I needed a plumber, and handed me a bill.

On 3/18/2013 jonny arrived at the above property via american homeshield, The homeowner and tech went to check units outside and they were frozen PLEASE NOTE: WHEN AN AC UNIT IS FROZEN IT CAN NOT BE DIAGNOSED UNITL IT IS THAWED. The tech informed h/o the unit needed to be shut off (his work order through AHS did not state it was frozen, otherwise the office would have informed him to shut it off) Upon entering the attic tech found copper lines frozen and dripping on attic floor, the tech informed the h/o and he was a bit upset at that point. The tech asked if he had a pan to catch the water to prevent water damage, the h/o denied him a pan to catch water in. Tech advised h/o to shut off unit until repairs are made to which the h/o said no. The office advised johnny he could return that afternoon or the following day to complete service and the h/o declined. He then refused to pay service fee and signing invoice. PLEASE NOTE ALL WARRANTY COMPANIES REQUIRE OUR COMPANY TO COLLECT SERVICE FEE BEFORE ANY REPAIRS ARE MADE.

The relationship between these techs and the company is suspect. Why would they tell the customer one thing and tell the company a completely different story. The whole experience was poor.
Description of Work: They performed a service call for American Home Shield. The house was not cooling properly. He only added refrigerant. The Tech's findings (to the company) was that nothing was wrong with the system. He told me that a builders grade 14 year old system like this should be replaced and that it was running very inefficiently. He said continued leaking was a problem. He told AHS that he tightened something to stop the leak. There was no way for him to be sure that was the source of the leak.
