Deck Tech Fences Plus

Don came and looked the proposed project, did the measurements and submitted a written bid with drawing and written review of what work would be done. His bid was in keeping with other estimates received. He started the project and the rains began within three hours of his arrival. And rain and mud prevailed for weeks. Therefore the project took much longer than anticipated. Don and his crew worked when they could between rain storms and were very pleasant and professional. The quality of the materials utilized and the construction methods were far above what I expected. He was especially concerned with being sure that the deck was being built the way I wanted. The quality of construction is far above the local standards. I wish he had built my house........when the house blows away the deck will still be there.

Everything went very well. Don is a very nice man and he definitely takes pride in his work. The repaired and replaced fence posts are holding up nicely and the new fence looks fantastic! The gate is sturdy and works well. I would definitely use Deck Tech Fences again.

Materials used were excellent quality cedar pickets, with pressure treated pine rails and posts. All fence posts were set in 24" concrete. The concrete base was crowned above grade level to drain water away from each post. Gates are built onsite to ensure exact fit and hang. The gate hardware used was heavy duty. Each gate worked effortlessly without creaks and groans through a full range of 180 degrees. The contractor paid special attention to keeping the yards enclosed so dogs would not get out. Where necessary, he put up temporary gate panels to keep the fence closed while concrete set. The finished fence was incredibly straight and level. I downgraded punctuality because he did not show up the day scheduled to start. His truck engine went out and he spent the day getting it repaired. His only mistake was that he did not call us. I chided him for the failed communication and he apologized profusely. For the rest of the job, his communication was very, very good. The job took a couple of weeks because of interruptions due to very heavy rains and Thanksgiving holidays. The fence was constructed dealing with a soggy, muddy yard. Nevertheless, Don trudged on and never let up on taking his time to do the job right. He is proud of his work and it shows. We would definitely use him again.

Excellent craftsmanship and we are very pleased with the finished product. Don took time to explain the job to us and had good ideas for the new gate design which fits our needs perfectly. The new gates improved the curb appeal of our home, and we are enjoying the quality and functionality of them. I highly recommend Deck Tech fences for all of your fencing and deck construction and repair needs.

Don came out and did a work up. He sent me an estimate the next day and started a couple of days later. Don was very conscientious of our dog and made sure he secured the area he was working in every night before leaving. We are having Don back to build a deck for us at a later date.

No one has ever showed up that I know of. Finally after two calls saying they would be over and give me an estimate again, I had another no-show appointment and then I had enough. They called again almost two weeks later, or so, maybe it was 10 days, and asked me if I had received the estimate, which I had not. There had been nothing, not even a phone call back or a message with it on my recorder. Then they asked for my email address in case they had the wrong one. I told them to just forget it, and that I was tired of the unprofessional service and would not want them to do the work. All I received back, was an, "That's OK, thanks, & Bye". This was the second company on Angie's List that I have tried since I joined... and now I am still trying to get a simple gate replaced that I put in myself almost 19 years ago, before I became 100% disabled. What has happened to a workman's pride in their work and ethics? I worked with my tools in the Chemical Industry for over 30 years, and I do understand how you can have a bad day, or a job can be delayed from time to time... but that long a wait for a simple estimate?? Someone needs to just put their tools up and find other work. Sorry for the rant, but it really angers me.

Don removed the old fence gate which by this time was basically a frame with the pickets laying on the ground. He moved the location of the new gate to be more in line with my neighbors ending posts. It also allowed for a sturdier set of posts to be placed. The new fence is made from cedar with a very nice hardware set. It is strong, sturdy and professionally finished. I expect this gate to last a very long time. Don MacIntosh took pride in his work which was appreciated and wanted to make sure I was 100% satisfied before he left. I was !!

The company was quick to contact me about setting up a time for an estimate. I had a little bit of a wait to get the service done because they we so busy but the work done was excellent and worth the wait.

excellent workmanship. Chris was very helpful in cutting cost while not sacrificing quality. They took out the old fence and set the new post the first day. Post were set a full 2' in the ground and allowed to set through the next day before building new fence. ( Much stronger fence that section built by Aries 2 months earlier)

Chris and Don submitted a bid after listening to a description of my yard that was by far the most detailed one I received, as well as incredibly accurate considering all they had to go off of was what I said over the phone. This should have been the first sign I was in good hands. The week the fence was to be put in, I received an email breaking down what would be happening each day that week, which is the schedule they managed to stick to exactly. They arrived exactly when they were supposed to and worked hard for the 2 days it took to put the fence in. They took care to match the height of the existing fence along the west side of our yard exactly. They even built the fence around a tree straddling the property line, shaping the wood with a jigsaw to perfectly match the tree's contours while leaving a little room for it to grow. The fence looks amazing, and our elderly next door neighbor just wanted to talk about "what nice young men" they were the next day.

Called several times, set up appointment, came to my home and looked at the work, exchanged several emails. In the end, non-responsive, no estimate was ever received even after receipt of email from company stating a specific day to expect estimate. Would not try and continue effort, if that was the type of initial response, did not want to continue down that same trail.

I would recommend this contractor for fences. He did the job he stated for a reasonable price.

Chris was a joy to work with. The job was done well and promptly. Finally have a yard the dogs cant escape from!!
