They did what they needed to do. We used them many times. We used them for years anhd for most everything they do they;ve done well. We also moved our laundry room once upon a time which they facilitated. There had been a couple of times when they've come out for small things that we wondered might have been done a little bit differently.
Description of Work: They changed the fixtures and faucets in one of the bathrooms.

It was done in pieces. They had to move water lines and gas lines. They have a lot of employees. The more experienced employees, the better they are. I know the owner of the company and when you got him involved, you get an A when you get somebody that's been hereon the first time they've done a job you get a C.
Description of Work: We redid the kitchen completely and they did the plumbing work for it.

Friday morning 6am noticed wet carpet. Someone was at my house by 7am to check the hot water heater. It was leaking so he drained it and turned off the gas - did what needed to be done to stop the water, and make sure we were safe. I OK a new hot water heater, I believe he said they could be back by 8 or 9, but I ask for later for various reasons. They were back when scheduled with the new water heater. It was changed out with no problems. My only negative was I didn't choose the water heater. A different one was never suggested. I was never ask about use, energy efficiency or one more tailored to my needs/wants. I absolutely should have done my homework, but I wish especially the size should have been suggested it might not be big enough for our household or maybe one with a quicker recovery. It certainly works just fine! Do not think I wouldn't hesitate to call them to replace it when needed. SO! AFTER all was great, we had hot water, and they were gone we flushed the toilet...zero water got to the toilet. Called them back, and they were here. There was apparently a remodel to our bathroom at sometime and the pipes didn't run where they should have. It did take a couple holes in the wall, but Brian's did find a completely blocked pipe. A marble from somewhere - yes, he took the T-section with the marble in it because it's not something you see everyday. lol Also, during the toilet fix, an outside faucet was damaged. It wouldn't turn off. It was drippy already, but really ran steady after flushing the pipes. The faucet was replaced. It was one of those you have to open the wall to get to the pipe. I wasn't charged for the early morning hour he was here. I wasn't charged for the toilet pipe repair, or the faucet replacement materials. I wasn't charged the "after hours labor" for that call back, and received a pretty big break on the billed hours for the day.

OMG! A Brian's plumber and helper came to find and fix a leak in a building behind the house. The helper dug around until he broke the main pipe, which then had to be fixed. The helper looked very unhappy to be out working and had a cigarette in his mouth the entire job. I had a hard time understanding the plumber and was shocked when he handed me the $253.80 bill. My girlfriend called and argued the dubious hours billed and they did refund $40.00. Yet, the hole in the yard was haphazardly covered and did not look like a professional job at all. I could go on but will stop here.

I called several times for an estimate because they had come highly recommended. Brian never came out for an estimate and I had to get the walk in shower installed because my 90 year old mother could not get in the tub any more. The man who came was rude and hateful. Brian said the man was the best at this type of job. They did not tell me there was a shower that would fit in perfectly after removing the tub. I had bought what I thought was the shower that was needed. The man told Brian that he was going to have to do a lot of carpentry to get the shower installed. He did not mention this to me until after the work was done. He left a mess in my bathroom. The top was showing studs and the tile in the surrounding areas was lying on the floor. Within 2 weeks the walls of the tub had come loose from the studs and my mother was put in danger of falling because of the unsteady wall. I had spent all could afford on a fixed income to get the shower and have it installed. I have done what I can to finish the bathroom but with no knowledge of installing tiles or water proof walls, it is still in pretty bad shape. I wish I had never had this done! The bathroom looks horrible now and I have to get into the shower to help my mother get in without falling. I was told by the man who did the work that I would have to hire another contractor to do the finish work because he didn't do that. Really, really disappointed!

We were having some sewer issues and had raw sewage leaking into our backyard coming from a clean out valve. Brian's cam out and snaked the drain to find out that were never hooked back up to a main line that the city had installed earlier that year. They told us that this was on the city and that they would bill them. Didn't here anything to several months. Then we had some water in the gas line that fed the house and so we called Brian's again to help us with this problem as we were happy with the previous work that they did. Well it took them almost 4 months to get this line in for us. I had to dig the trench and then once they got the line in they failed to even cover it up. Then they realized that they failed to get paid for the previous work on the sewer and stuck us with that bill too!!!! I tried to take that portion to the city but there is a 45 day reporting period for claims against the city. I think that Brian's knew this and that the city reimburses at a lower rate then what Brian's bills. So they wait and then send us this bill. We paid it in full but I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN!!!!

We called them the 1st time to sort out why we were unable to snake our own line after renting a large powered Auger from A-! Rentals. They diagnosed the problem within about 20 minutes and there were broken sections of pipe. They brought in some equipment and as previously mentioned trenched and replaced the pipe section.
Description of Work: Living in an older house in an older neighborhood with several trees we had the misfortune to need the pipes replaced leading from our house to the city line. Brian's Plumbing came in and quickly had the line trenched and reburied swiftly with little interruption to our life. We have used them a couple times to clear other tree related problems with the plumbing. I found them to be professional, friendly, knowledgeable and punctual. Also they did not "upsale" the jobs we called them to work on.

Just two months ago my husband and I suffered through our first slab leak. We ended up having to tear up our tile and concrete, and had a hole in our floor for over two weeks. Not to mention no hot water. We called a plumbing company (not to be named), and had them come fix the leak. It took them over two days to do 3 hours of work. Well, two months later we heard the dreadful noise of water leaking again, and we knew it was another slab leak. This time we decided to reroute our plumbing through the attic. I called Brian's plumbing, and spoke to Brian himself. He offered to come over free of cost to give us pointers on what to do. He showed up a few minutes after I got off the phone with him. When he was over the house, everything he said was correct. We did a lot of the labor to run the Pex through the attic, but when it came to the connections we couldn't get it to work. So we called Brian's plumbing the next day and they were here within two hours. It only took them an hour and a half to fix the connections and their price is very reasonable. I will definitely be using Brian's plumbing if future issues arise.
Description of Work: The plumbers fixed our slab leak by replacing our copper lines with Pex. My husband and I did the labor of running the Pex through our attic and Brians plumbing did the actual connections from Pex to copper piping. My husband and I attempted the connections but were unsuccessful. Brians rebuilt the connections from pieces of Pex and copper. When we ran the hot water for the first time, there was plenty of pressure, no leaks, and it was much quieter in the wall. I am very impressed so far.

Please DO NOT use Brians Plumbing! Please read this horrifying story and spread the word. I know it is long but it is so important to get the word out. Six years ago we hired Brians Plumbing to do a remodel of our lake house. During the process we had major issues so we contacted Brian and asked him to come out and see the terrible job his employees were doing. We made 2 appointments for Brian to come look but he never showed up. Here is just some of the issues we had. They moved the plumbing around in the bathroom and the concrete work was so bad we had to hired someone to sand down the floor in order to lay the tile. They dumped the unused concrete in our yard. They flooded the house and did not call and us and let us know when we checked on the progress we found that all our boxes from moving were soaked half way upand the contents inside water logged. Several times they would come out to bowie, spend less than an hour on the job then charge us for the trip back and forth meanwhile holding up all out other contractors. We called Brian and told him not to finish the job and came to an agreementon what to pay for the job already completed. Brian was paid exactly what we agreed which was 4900.00 leaving a balance of 1100.00 for work not completed. Later after moving in we found that the shower wasnot draining so we called the plumber that finished the job. He did not do any concrete work, it was all done by Brians plumbing. What he foundwas that Brians plumbing got so much concrete down the pipe that it was practically closed. We had to pay to have the pipe repaired in addition to paying for more tile and some to lay the tile in the shower. Also we were moving a hot water heater later on the next phase of our remodel, they cut off water to the water heater but did not cut off the power. We started hearing a crackling noise and when we investigated we found that the hot water heater still had power but by then had run out of water. Thankfully it happened on a weekend we were there or they would have burned our house down. As bad as all that was here is where our experience gets even worse! We sold our lake house and on the day of closing (11-16-12) the title company called to say that Brians Plumbing put a lien against the house for the balance of the money for a job he did not complete. We contacted them and explained that we neededa fax saying the bill was paid so we could close. Brain said he doesn’t remember the job and refused to release the lien. I told him that I would let everybody I know hear about the horrifying experience we had with his company. He said he didn’t care who I told. Don’t let this happen to anyone you care about!

I made an appointment with office for Wed. AM. Waited until 12:30 PM, called office to ask what happend as nobody showed up or called. They said they forgot to mark AM and I could have next available but could not say when that would be. The office acted as if it was my fault. I told them I would call somebody else. I had to get back to my office and couldn't stay for what may have been the rest of the day. Overall, the front office was very rude to me. I told them to let Brian know which I am sure they won't do. I will never call Brian's Plumbing again. I

They were very courteous and helpful. We made an appointment for "anytime after 2 on Friday". They called before they came to the house and took their shoes off before walking on the carpet. 2 guys came to fix our garbage disposal and a toilet. They took 1 look at the disposal, turned a few screws and viola, it works fine. The toilet (which we thought would be the simple job) took about 40 minutes because they had to replace all the parts inside the tank (whoever tried to repair it before used superglue and duct tape). They charged us for parts (which they had in their truck) and labor. The only negative thing I have to say is that they charged us for a full hour of labor when they were only here 45 minutes. They may have a minimum charge or charge in blocks of time, and I didn't mind paying a little extra because the guys were so nice, so I didn't try to fight it. I would definitely use them again.

The plumber was cordial and friendly. The problem that I have is the attempt to pad the bill with time that was not spent working on my plumbing. The plumber was dispatched to my house at about 8:15 and arrived after 8:45. It took 30 minutes to drive 5.5 miles, when it should have taken no more than 10. After the actual 20 minutes of work actually in the bathroom, plus the 25 minutes of driving around getting parts, 15 minutes sitting in the truck writing the bill, the plumber attempted to bill me for 2 hours worth of work. He arrived at my house at 8:45, and was done with the faucet by 9:45, and tried billing me for 2 hours! He then did me a "favor" by adjusting the bill and taking 30 minutes off. I still feel overcharged. I won't use Brians Plumbing again.
Description of Work: The "flapper" in the bathtub faucet was not completely blocking the flow of water when the "stopper" was pulled to redirect water to the shower head. The plumber first attempted to replace a part that redirected the flow. This was not successful. The next solution was to add a faucet that had its own "stopper". This solution worked, albeit not the best solution. Of course, we had to pay for both parts, even though the first "guess" was incorrect.

I contacted Brian's Plumbing to investigate a smell coming from under my pier and beam house. It smelled of sour stale water so I assumed it was a water leak. They were not available that day, but we scheduled an appointment for the next day I had available. Once they arrived they went right to work investigating the smell that I suspected was a water leak. In addition to a leak where I suspected they showed me there were additional leaks along the length of the pipe. The technician (Cullen) told me he could replace the cast iron with PVC to cover the area where the leaks were, but he recommended that I replace the old pipe all the way to the main 4and quot; drain line to prevent future leaks from the same old pipe. After replacing the pipe, they inspected other pipes under my house to assure there were no other leaks. Cullen found a copper water line with a small leak and I agreed to have him repair that as well while he was here. Overall the price was better than what I expected for the amount of time they were working under my house. In addition I appreciated the extra attention he took to make sure there were no other leaks or problems while he was here. Both technicians were polite and professional and clearly explained not only the problem but my options. I would not hesitate to use there services again. The only issue I have, and this is purely for disclosure as it was not a huge issue. I requested that they contact me before they technician was at my house so I could meet the technician there and not have to wait at home. They did that, however, when they called me the technician was already at my house. Good thing I live close.
Description of Work: I had a leak under my pier and beam house, near my kitchen sink. They replaced the old rotted cast iron drain line from my sink to the main 4' drain with PVC. They also repaired a leaking 1/2" copper water line that was leaking.
