Description of Work: I called Mr. Smith to come out and quote on some extensive remodeling we wanted done. He came out and looked over everything. Said he would put a quote together within a couple of days. Four days later I called him again to see where he was on the quotation. He said he was busy, but would finish the quote that weekend. It has been two weeks since then and we have still not heard back from him. We would not recommend him to anyone and suggest that he be removed from Angie's List.

Description of Work: They were supposed to start painting in ONE room while we were on vacation. When we returned every room was upside down. TV's on beds, furniture all over everywhere and we had nowhere to put our stuff to unpack. To top it all off, they sealed our cat in a bathroom wall. We were not pleased, needless to say. The cat survived, by the way.

Description of Work: Never responded to several calls. Guess they didn't need the work.

Description of Work: I had bought a house that needed more repairs than I realized. I cannot remember everything because he did them as the painter, floormen found them. He installed a microwave and designd a door to match my cabinets( looks great). fixed dryer exhaust(extra long), changed horrible wax ring on toilet, installed some light fixtures. There were numerous little things that he had a screw for, had advice for and generally got me up and running. He will be back in the fall to fix some other things and maybe build a front porch.

Description of Work: PROVIDER SHOWED UP TUESDAY MORNING TO GIVE ESTIMATE ON REPAIRING BATHROOM FLOOR AND WALL THAT WAS ROTTED FROM A WATER LEAK. HE LOOKED AROUND, TOOK A FEW NOTES AND SAID HE WOULD CONTACT ME WITH AN ESTIMATE LATER THAT AFTERNOON. I NEVER HEARD FROM HIM AGAIN THAT DAY AND CALLED HIM THE NEXT DAY AND WAS TOLD HE DIDN'T HAVE AN ESTIMATE READY AND WOULD CALL ME LATER THAT AFTERNOON. I NEVER HEARD FROM HIM AGAIN AND CONTRACTED WITH ANOTHER PERSON THAT THURSDAY. THIS IS VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. IF HE WOULD HAVE TOLD ME HE DIDN'T WANT TO DO THE JOB THEN IT WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN A PROBLEM. BUT THE WAY HE HANDLED THIS TELLS ME HE'S NOT WORRIED ABOUT CUSTOMERS OR POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS.

Description of Work: Shower rebuild, ext paint, door replace,etc.

Description of Work: Curtis Smith Handyman Services did a little bit of concrete work and a low retainer between two yards.

Description of Work: We contracted Mr Smith to do handyman work including painting, installing doors, tile work, installing new dishwasher, drywall utility room and new hardware, patching up slide doors, replacing light fixtures, removing texture from ceiling and painting it etc. He appeared to be honest and told us when he could start. He arrived on the correct day with 2 other workers. The entire job lasted approx 8 days. Most days I checked in on the workers off and on. Most days they arrived around 9am and left around 3pm. I feel he didn't work efficiently knowing that we work nights and would have to sleep else where during the days. The last day of completion we payed before the job was finished due to our schedule. Mr Smith had brought in 6 workers on the last day and they were working very rushed to complete the job I felt. If he had the appropriate amount of workers each day oppose to just a painter coming in one day I don't think we would have had such a horrible outcome. We had stayed in a hotel for several days because the house was not liveable during. The day after completion we came home to a mess. I called Mr Smith and discussed several problems that were not finished and he said he left before the workers left and he did not know the job had not been completed. Stick tile was placed in bathroom when we requested higher quality. Around the toilet was left not caulked and looks like someone took a razor blade and cut around the tile to fit it. The paint in the bathroom needed another coat as you can see the old color coming through. The caulk job was not completed and what was done was the worse, sloppy job I have ever seen. Several other odds and ends that were asked to do was left undone, and for a single mom is a major issue. While cleaning up after the job I found pieces of glass under a chair in the living room. It turned out to be my microwave plate. No one ever mentioned they had broken it. I had to buy a new microwave because I couldn't find a plate to fit it. I also noticed a few days later after cooking I turned on the garbage disposal and heard a load scraping sound and turned it off. I felt inside and I didn't find anything, turned it back on and nothing. Now I have to buy and install a new disposal yet alone hire someone to come in and paint, caulk and finish the odds and ends that I paid for. Mr Smith has not returned my phone calls and the final check was cashed on the completion date. I feel he stole from me and was dishonest. I will never recommend him and will let everyone know what he did to my home. I learned my lesson a hard way trusting that he would do as I would do. I feel what comes around goes around and he will get his one day!

Description of Work: I had a contractor convert a building into a retirement cottage for my mother, but there were things he did wrong/did not do that kept it from passing final inspection. Curtis removed two windows in the bedroom, which were not large enough and installed two windows of the proper size and did all the framing and finishing work for them inside and out. He also installed two window air conditioning units. Additionally, he removed a large amount of construction debris that the contractor had left in my yard.
