They did great work, arrived on time and cleaned up well. We were happy with the service.

Their carpenter, John, was very good at his primary skills. The window looked great, but they had to be called back twice to smooth up some rough edges on the window trim, and to re-seal and re caulk part of the bottom of window. It had continued to leak slightly with big rain events. The window has now been completed to our satisfaction under the terms of their guarantee. I would definitely use them again; they were very easy to work with, and the work was overseen by a manager. They have also constructed for us some fence sections and a gate, as well as front screen door, entrance and fascia board painting, with good results. --Stanley Cavitt

Were very prompt and did a good fast job

The service was not good. The fellow they sent was terrible; he dripped paint in the laundry room and stain in the front entrance on the tile. We called the company and complained. They offered to send him back out to fix it but we didn’t want him to. We had to hire someone else to come in to redo what he did. This feedback is specific to the individual who came to our home, we have no knowledge of the other employees of Handyman Connection.

I have used their services twice. I had them sand down quite a few doors from the sun beating on them. Another time I had they check out a leak. He did a good job and cleaned up after himself. He didn’t finish the job entirely but I also never called them to schedule him to come back out.

The service turned out fine, I do not recall any issues. Scheduling was great, they were able to get me an appointment quickly and within a week or two of my call.

The ultimate ending was good. At first they sent someone who didn’t know what he was doing, I stopped him and called the company. The guy in charge of the franchise made good and sent someone back out the following day to redo the tile. He finished the work in 1 or 2 days.

Second time to use them in 30 days. No surprises. had several doors pre-cut that did not fit. They trimmed them all and hung them with no problem. They had previously hung a mantel over the fireplace and came back and hung a tv mount for a flat screen tv above the mantel. Rock fireplace something I would not do myself. Great job, inexpensive, and no surprises will use them again for some staining of bookcases.

He was very detail oriented and showed up on time every day, informed us of what was going to happen each day. I am really happy with the quality of work and glad to have my shower back.

Cullen with Handyman Connection did an excellent job with a difficult project. He had to remove a storm door before he could remove and replace the old 15-lite metal door. After he installed the new door, he had to re-install the storm door. He painted the exterior side of the new door. He looked out for my well-being. When he went to Lowe's to pick up the door I'd ordered online, he noticed it was defective. This particular Lowe's location didn't have a replacement door, so he called me about the problem. He explained he could correct the problem, but doing so would increase my costs. He suggested getting the door from another Lowe's location. I agreed and he picked up the door. I'm very pleased with the results, and he did the work right the first time, which I greatly appreciate. I didn't have to take additional time off work to have him come out again to correct a problem.

I called the handyman connection to fix a burner on my gas stove. They set up an appointment. Two days later they called back to say the man they were sending had a medical emergency. They gave me the name of another place to call that would be able to do this type of work. I called the other place, he happened to be in the area, showed up two minutes later, fixed the burner and was on his way. The charge was $20. I was very pleased with the work and the Handyman connection for referring me to this other guy.

Replaced termite damaged wood in wall. Sheetrock and textured.

1. Request for Estimate: I used the website on the weekend to request an estimate and the staff from Handyman Connection contacted me on Monday. They asked a number of questions about the job and worked with me to set up an appointment that was convenient for me. The staff member that I spoke with on the phone was friendly and professional. One problem, however?The Handyman Connection sends out automated emails to confirm appointments. For some reason I didn?t get these emails. I checked my spam and junk mail folders religiously and I never received an email. I contacted the email on the website and they returned a very timely response. I received all emails from their customer service staff, but never received an automated email. 2. Estimate Appointment: Mark, the sheetrock repair specialist, showed up on time. He called to let me know that he had an earlier opening, but my schedule wouldn?t allow an earlier arrival. He was very understanding about having to wait until our appointed time. He provided an estimate and I thought it was a little high, but I felt that he would do a good job. I accepted the estimate. He stated that he would be back Tuesday to begin work repairing the wall. I purchased the paint and he stated that there would be about a $10 charge for the mud needed to re-tape and float the wall. He stated that I would get a confirmation phone call but didn?t receive one. 3. Work Done: I called Mark since I hadn?t heard from anyone to schedule an appointment. He stated that he was still on for the 11a appointment. I had an 11:30a appointment that I needed to attend. He arrived at the stated time and I was able to get to my appointment on time. He was very pleasant, friendly and courteous. He used some spare materials thus keeping me from buying additional materials. Arrived at 11:15p and left at 1:30p. He did an excellent job and the wall was repaired perfectly. 4. Billing process: I called the 512-418-0800 phone number yesterday as instructed by Mark. He directed me to do this if I was planning to utilize a credit card. I gave the credit card information to the customer service person and she stated that because she didn?t know what the actual cost was she would call me right back after consulting with Mark and another staff person to let me know how much they were going to charge my card. I never received a call back, but did get an alert that they had charged my account for the entire estimate amount. I was under the impression that the estimate was calculated using $75.00 per hour for 6 hours. Thus I would pay 2.75 hours. I contacted their customer service staff and she returned a very nice and professional email. She explained that Mark should not have told me what the estimate was based on. When they quote an estimate, that is what you pay. I felt this was a bit unorthodox in that I should pay for 6 hours worth of work that took them 3 hours. She outlined that once the price is accepted upfront they make no adjustments. However, because of the situation that I experienced, she graciously offered to refund the excess money ($240) and explained very clearly in the email their billing process. 5. Overall: The contractor did an excellent job in repairing the wall. However, I think that the HandyMan Connection?s estimate and pricing process is flawed and needs to be reformed. I would not utilize them again unless they have reformed their pricing process.

Small electrical repairs, tile repair, door hardware replacement, under cabinet lighting.

Removed a section of sheetrock from ceiling that had water damage. Braced under support 2x4, patched with new sheetrock, taped, floated and textured patched area.

We used an Angie's List deal to hire Handyman Connection to repair a small section of drywall that had been cut out of our wall when home theater speakers were installed in the ceiling. The price included 2 hours of service. David Hughes was the repairman. He placed the square of drywall, taped, floated, and textured the drywall. It would not be dry enough to paint within the 2 hour window, so I painted it myself the next day. He did a great job and we cannot tell where the repair occurred. On a side note, we had more drywall repaired in other rooms recently. I used a different company with a better overall price (they did other repair work as well), and I'm sorry I did. I didn't realize how easy it is to screw up drywall texture. In the future I will use Handyman Connection again.

I contacted Handyman Connection on 10/23/13 to repair a damaged door jamb. I was able to schedule an appointment for the following morning, was told that Marty Morgan would be assigned to our project, and that he would visit our home to review my project request and provide a quote. Marty arrived a few minutes prior to our scheduled appointment and quickly analyzed the request and provided the quote and time to complete. We agreed to proceed. Marty quickly fixed the door jamb and offered to review any other concerns since I was being charged for 1 hour. I showed him several other doors in our home that were not latching properly due to the house settling over several years. Marty resolved these issues, as well, for no additional expense. He was a true professional, very knowledgeable, and pleasant.

I like the quality of their work. Scheduling is easy, they were able to fit me in, in a reasonable amount of time. I do feel they are a little over priced for their service.

The service turned out great. They went to Lowe’s and they found a light fixture for me and then I spoke with Lowe’s to pay for the fixture. They were very professional, helpful, and they did what I asked them to do. Everything that they did was very good.

The gentleman that did the work was able to poke a hole to hide the wires behind the wall, but he did not have the plastic piece that is supposed to cover the hole to hide it. He got the job done within the timeframe of the deal which I appreciated, however my one complaint is that it seemed like he was dragging the project out so it would take up the whole 2 hours. We had previously mounted a TV ourselves in our loft area so we knew about how long the mounting should take. After we voiced our concerns that the project was going to run over the 2 hours, he picked up the pace and completed the job within the 2 hours. He also indicated when he first came in, that the job may run over the 2 hours. All in all I thought the gentleman did the job, and I was very satisfied. The TV is still on the wall so I can't complain too much! The office was also very good at scheduling us in.

As I remember, they did fine. All of the work is still in good shape. The job went as expected and I was satisfied. It was $79 for each of the deals.

I was satisfied with the work. Based on that experience, I would hire them again. The gentleman who did the backsplash work was a very nice guy.

The gentleman who did the job made a true effort to complete the job within the two hours, and he even had to go to the hardware store. We were concerned that the job would take longer than the 2 hours that were included in the deal and we really appreciated that he did that for us.

When he was finished going through the closet, we had about a half hour left. He used that time to walk around and evaluate the cracks I told him about in the wall, and he was able to let me know how much time it would take to repair those. He gave me a great indication of what to expect the next time I call them. He was very friendly, and I was so happy he was willing to take on this odd project for me. He did a great job. I liked their service so much that I purchased another Big Deal from them recently.

Bill was very professional, showed up on time and when he realized he needed an additional expert to help build an estimate, he had send us their dry wall/painting guy. I really liked that he knows his limit. I liked that he was taking detail notes as well as taking pictures. I was very excited and could not wait to get the bit and move forward with this project. I got the bid the next day and I was shocked. It was at least doubled the estimates I have gotten by three other companies- they are all A list on angieslist. I am still looking/deciding on who to hire.
