Doug's promise for professional, quality craft was a promise he was reluctant and incapable of keeping. Our kitchen remodeling was to take between 5 and 10 days. We went without use of our kitchen for 14 weeks. He went from one deadline promise to the next. After ordering the wrong cabinet sizes, he then promised to have the project finished in time for Thanksgiving. The project finally finished up on December 28th. The poor craft was only corrected after many discussions and negotiations. The list of mishaps is long from the materials not being ordered correctly, the measurements not taken correctly. There were daily errors in craftsmanship and a reluctance to keep in touch and take responsibility for the project. My husband and I basically needed to manage the entire project. His idea of "standard" and "acceptable" craft is a long-shot from what my husband and I expected or would accept. Some examples of the errors are: tacking on a discolored floor board to the existing floor board, not measuring for the cabinets so needing to replace the sink we ordered with a smaller version, cutting holes in our new cabinets to put in industrial arts lighting, installing the cabinets so that the doors wouldn't open properly or fully, not following our wishes on the cut of counter top, not caring to be symmetrical in aligning cabinets, allowing for nails to poke through new cabinets, not aligning cabinets with the microwave, etc. etc. The project did finally come to an end as Doug allowed for his carpenter, Jason, to finish the project on his own. Jason had integrity and an eye for detail.
Description of Work: The project consisted in gutting our kitchen and replacing all cabinets, counter tops and appliances, new back splash. This included a new pantry cabinet and new laundry room cabinets.
