Merry Maids of Webster, TX

I have used MM for over 2 years now. In the beginning, they did a great job but over the past 6 months the cleanings have gotten poorer and poorer. To say it was spot cleaned at best - rugs and mirrors not cleaned and only damp mopping

Even though MM showed up on time, the work provided was not what I communicated to the sales person - It seems all the details i was specific about . was not passed down. Only ONE of the maids worked hard while the other was not. It's pretty bad when I had to join in to CLEAN! The fact the I had to PAY 24 hours in advance and be stuck with service i wouldn't accept is a bad business practice. To ask them to dust, then show them where to dust, and then have to go back and dust myself is wrong. To have them vacuum and not move furniture and barely get around anything .. and then me have to go back and vacuum is a bit wrong. WORST CLEANING EVER .. In the 9 years of living in my home and using a service for cleaning, never ever have i had a service that actually made me angry enough to speak out.

I had instructed the clean was a move out clean with particular attention to be paid to stove and cooktop.MM agreed to the job. The day of the clean ,I call to instruct how to get at cooktop and was told it's not their policy to do that. They already had my 2 hours of prepay so I couldn't cancel. The grease catch under the burners was not cleaned.

They are extremely flexible and always do what they say they are going to do. If I don't like something they will come back out and do it to my liking.

We used Merry Maids of Webster for about 6 months, and while the first cleaning went very well (as would be expected for a company trying to earn your business), subsequent cleanings were typically disappointing. The carpets were always vacuumed, but they RARELY moved anything to get the 'hard-to-reach' places. After we had wood flooring installed, this became more obvious, as those places (such as under chairs or behind furniture) were easier to see. My son's room was a good example of how they didn't move anything out of the way to vacuum. They basically ran the machine over the large area in the middle of the room, but never moved his toys to finish the area. On more than one occasion, the guest bedroom was completely missed...I mean NOTHING was done. They didn't even enter the room! The bedroom closets were frequently overlooked (for vacuuming). The tile floors were basically wiped down with a wet mop, but never very clean. In fact, after they were finished, I could wipe the floor with a wet paper towel and pull up dirt. Our glass table-tops were cleaned with Windex about half of the time, and it was always pretty easy to find dusty surfaces in the living room and bedrooms. They did change the sheets on the master bed when we left out a clean set, but this was one of the few consistencies about the service. The kitchen surfaces were usually cleaned pretty well, but they never touched the stainless appliances, even if I left out the special cleaning products for that specific use. The bathroom rugs were never touched, and no matter how many times I requested that the shower glass be scrubbed, they never did it properly. I often times had to go back after them and touch up the tougher areas that they missed. Finally, despite the claim that each visit focused on a different set of areas (for example, one visit might cover the kitchen or bathrooms in more detail, while the next might cover the living and dining rooms), the so-called special attention areas always looked the same as the rest. In other words, I could never tell that any special attention was paid to these areas that were supposedly part of the focus for that visit. Any time I called to complain about the service, they offered to come back and do it again, but I only allowed this to happen only once, and for 2 reasons: 1 - it should have been done properly the FIRST time, and 2 - we have VERY busy schedules, and are limited in the time we can have our home available for cleaning. I paid over $200 to cancel our contract because, frankly, it wasn't worth continuing the service.

They seemed to go a little fast. They clean our house in less than an hour sometimes. I'd like them to pay attention a little more to detail. They told me they would pick up every little nic nak and clean every shelf but that did not happen. I was a little disappointed in that.

I have had housekeepers come and clean which costs $200 for one session, and they don't clean. It's hard to find someone like Merry Maids who come and does the job and doesn't charge an arm and leg. They are very reasonable. My experience with them has been very good and if there was something left undone, there is no problem if I call them back but most of the time they don't miss anything. They work together and pay extra attention on certain days and make sure that everything is clean around. They will be here for more and I would continue using them in the future.

The house was worse off after the two maids came. They didn't speak a word of English and didn't know what cleaners to use for what item. They used Lysol bathroom basin cleaner to clean the bathroom mirror instead of Windex. They used Joy dishwashing liquid instead of Formula 409 to clean the kitchen counter. I had to ask them to repeat much of the work they did. I kept telling them there was no need to vacuum certain rooms because I had just vacummed them but they vacuumed them anyway. They didn't speak a word of English so they didn't understand my instructions not to vacuum the clean rooms. They also worked very slowly. Their work was very sloppy. I normally work much faster when I clean my house myself. I will never use them again. Avoid at all costs

The price that they charged for my small place was 82.00 for 45 minutes of cleaning. I had them back in spite of the price due to needing this service. My husband's medications were sitting beside his bed. They threw away all of his medications which amounted to $800.00. I called them about this but they did not offer to do anything about it. They did a good job with the cleaning but they lack professionalism in not responding to my problem that was in reality their fault. I would not recommend this company.

The cleaning was scheduled weekly and the two maids showed up on time. They didn't do as good a job as they should, but I will continue to use them until I find someone else. I feel like they should do a better job for what I'm paying.
