Utility company gave wrong location of main line entrance so Alliance had to fill in trench and re-dig. Even with that the charge was less than the estimate because the length of the pipe needed was not as great. Workers were experienced, communicated well, on time and cleaned up after job was finished. No further problems.
Description of Work: Replace broken sewer pipe between house and main line. Insert clean-out pipe near main line.

Noticed a wet floor area in the master bath coming from the area of the sink. After pulling the carpet in the area and suspecting the leak to be coming from behind the wall near the sink plumbing area, I removed the sheetrock under the sink, but nother was found leaking in that area. At this point, we turned off the water supply to the house and decided to seek references from family and friends on recommendations of plumbers in the area. With several references provided, decided to check out Angie's List and determined one of the references for Alliance was listed with high marks. Since it was after hours, called as soon as the business opened the next morning. Kelly answered the call and since their technicians were already scheduled for other jobs for the day, would try to work us in later the same day. We recieved a call after lunch informing us Danny would be by to assist us between the hours of 2 and 4. Kelly sent an email with pictures of himself and Danny, so we would know who we were working with. Danny called around 2:00 and was on his way, showing up 20 minutes later. After reviewing the symptons, performed a static pressure hold test and disconnected the hot water system to eliminate that and to determine if it was a cold water supply system. Noticing the water seepage was colder than normal, speculated that the leakage may be from the AC drain line which terminated to the sink drain. As the day was getting late, decided to turn off the AC to see if it was related to this and to see what transpired overnight. After Danny left, I noticed the seepage had stopped and determined it was related to theAC drain line so I pulled the P-trap and cleaned the drain and verified the drain was clear and was suspecting the drain pipe from the AC unit to the sink was the source of the leak. After cleaning the AC drain, we turned the AC back on and the seepage reappeared, still suspecting the AC drain line to be the culprit turned the AC off for the night and wait for Danny to return the next morning at 7:30. After arriving the next morning, Danny inspected the AC drain pipe in the attic and not noticing any visible signs of leakage, decided to check the sink drane pipe as it goes through the slab. After cutting the sheetrock out, discovered the leak to be from a broken 90 pipe connector. Replaced the connector and fixed the leak. Danny cleaned up the area where the sheetrock was cut and replaced the cutout piece for later repairing by me. During the whole time Danny was in the house, he worn shoe covers to protect the flooring. He was very professional and knowledgable. The pricing was fair for the work performed.

My experience was great. They were very professional, very thorough. They let us know what was going to be done. After the installation, he took me through once again. The estimator was extremely professional and did a nice job of explaining the issues. However, we had three other plumbers provide estimates and Alliance was the only company that insisted that a complete repiping and multiple drops was necessary when all other plumbers provided phases of what needed to be done, what could wait to be done, and what didn't need to be done. When I explained my concern, the estimator said that Alliance only does "the job required to do the job right". I appreciate the professionalism but it did seem like they were being a little over aggressive in the estimate.

I was pleased with the service. Austin was very professional and had very good communication as to his ETA. His van did have his face on it (as all of their technicians do) so I knew who he was. He did the job very well and explained everything in detail even all of my numerous questions at the end. They were very mindful to take off their shoes as they set up their carpet covers and mindful of not making a mess when they removed the rusted-out old water heaters. It was a straightforward installation of two gas water heaters so nothing else to say except for, "great job!"

Kenneth came out on a weekend for a plumbing emergency. Rusty water was leaking from a ceiling. When an emergency repair was done, it showed that our house had old metal pipes that were badly corroded. This was not the first plumber to note that we were going to need to re-pipe our house. Besides, rusty colored water was coming out from time to time from faucets and showerheads. So we set up for Kenneth's team to replace these metal pipes with copper and plex pipes. Also they set up for individual shut-offs in the garage for all the rooms. This was a big project and it took more days than estimated. But Kenneth and his partner, Steven, stayed with this project until completed. They were very professional and cleaned after each work day. These plumbers are as good as they can get. I will continue using Alliance and their people.

If you want an honest plumber, call Alliance Plumbing. I did not have hot water to my kitchen faucet. I thought I needed a new faucet, but it turns out that the valve under the sink to the faucet is a push/pull type and it had been pushed in preventing the flow of hot water to my faucet. Alliance Plumbing educated my husband and myself on the valves and we were good to go. Like I said, if you want an honest plumber, call Alliance Plumbing. They could have sold me a new faucet, pushed the valve in and we would not be any wiser. I recommend them and would use them again.

Description of Work: We had a major project to replace and repair very old sewer line going to the city tap. Our yard has a lot of trees and landscaping which made it even more difficult to work on with 80 ft that needed to be excavated by hand. Another plumbing contractor quoted me over 6 grand.

The work took longer than I hoped. Part of this was due to the fact that the excavating crew did not show up one day and were late the next day. Discussions on how far to replace the pipes and getting around the tree took time also. All of the replacements of the pipes was done very professionally. They even came on Saturday. Of course it rained the day before the inspector was to inspect the pipes. Alliance pumped enough water out of the hole for the inspector to observe the expert work. Kelly gave us a very good price because of the delay in this job.
Description of Work: Alliance Plumbing replaced our sewer and water pipes. The crew installed 3 clean outs. They had to dig about 60 ft. from the house to the city's connection. Plus they had to dig under tree roots that were in the way.

The service went very well. The plumber arrived on time, provided a reasonable quote and completed the repair quickly.
Description of Work: We had a leak in the main water pipe between the water meter and the house. The leak had been caused by a stress fracture in a 45 degree connector. The plumber showed me that the fracture was caused by ground settling causing the two pipes to put excessive pressure on the connector. The plumber not only fixed the joint but did so in a way that leaves me with the feeling that it will not become an issue again in the near future. While the plumber recommended that I replace the entire length of pipe, to eliminate any connectors, he did not pressure me to do so.

Centerpoint Energy pulled our gas meter after they detected a gas leak in our house. We hired Alliance Plumbing and they were quick to come out. The gas leak was in several locations through out the house, fireplace, T joint in the attic, and at a valve on the outside of the house. Alliance tested portions of the house to figure out where the gas leaks were located. They took 2 full days for the work and coordinated a permit through the city. Overall the quality of the work installed was good, but they took a long time. There prices are also by the book, which are very high. They presented us with a huge bill and made us sign up for some plumbing program for $150 in order to bring the bill down to the $3,200. Due to there prices, I will most likely never use them again. I'm a member of there service (not by choice) and I know I can find a better deal elsewhere.

Alliances' prices are horrible, approximately three times the cost of other plumbers. After quoting me $270 to fix a leak in the attic, I asked for comparison purposes what a sink pop-up replacement would cost. He quoted $240. Another plumber actually charged me $70 for that a few weeks ago. So I declined the work (which then incurred a $60 service call fee). He then argued that I couldn't use their Angie's list coupon for $10 off a service call. Finally in the end he begrudgingly accepted the coupon. Obviously their business model is to force customers to accept outrageous prices or lose $60. I refuse to deal with such scam artists. I recommend that members avoid Alliance Plumbing.

Had an emergency, leaking water heaters in my ceiling above my kids' rooms. Unfortunately happened on a Saturday night. Got ahold of the after-hours line, left a message around 6pm on Sautrday. Their outgoing message said calls would be returned within 15 minutes. No reply as of Sunday at 11am, called and left another message. After two hours, again, no reply. At 1pm Sunday decided to call a different plumber, who picked up on the first ring.

I had a leaking food disposal in my kitdhen sink and I called Alliance Plumbing who had done plumbing work for me in the past. I called on a Tuesday and they scheduled a service call for 8:00 AM the next day. The service technician was very knowledgable and offered me options on disposal replacement. I made my choice and he completed replacement of the item in less than two hours. He also pointed out that a service coupon was availalbe on-line and I took advantage of that. Below is a letter I sent to the owner. Dear Kelly: After completing the plumbing work at my home, I felt I should drop you a note to communicate my satisfaction with the work of your company and, in particular, that of your father Karl. The complete replacement of all bathroom fixtures, all supply lines in the house, all toilet bowl components, relocation of the hot water heater and repair to the garden tub overflow drain was very time consuming. The work was done in a very professional manner. Additionally, your placement of drop cloths, around the work areas, is very much appreciated. Again, thank you for your help with this project. It is a pleasure to work with such a professional company as was demonstrated with your quality craftsmanship.

Reasons why we were very impressed with Allied Plumbing: Kelly was available by text or phone at all times including nights and weekends. There was always a master plan on how the job would flow, and Kelly kept us informed regarding any changes. The quality of the work was excellent Kelly and his crew were trusworthy, and mindful of our privacy and the fact that we were still living there. The crew always cleaned up after themselves at the end of the day. Kelly did an excellent job of coordinating the work of his various crews, and was proactive in revising the plan when necessary. Kelly added constructive and creative suggestions during the entire process. Kelly noticed problems regarding the details of some of the work that was done that we did not notice and took steps to correct. Every crew member was truly knowledgabe and proficient at their specialty. We learned that we had some electrical and structural issues that needed to be addressed after demolition. Kelly arranged all the inspections. Issues that came up: Occasionally there were scheduling conflicts with the various crews that caused unforseen delays, because the project had to flow in a certain sequence. Our house was built in 1966. We had had Alliance Plumbing come in the year before to replace our pipes with Pex Pipe, and had been very happy with Kelly Caudel and his crew. In September 2012, one of his crew came out to do a routine yearly check of the pipes. At that time, I asked about putting in a deeper kitchen sink and what that would entail. He mentioned that Alliance Plumbing also did Kitchen Reno work. I wasn't necessarily ready to do the renovation, but I also knew that Kelly and his crew were professional and trustworthy. I asked Kelly to come by and take a look. When Kelly came at the appointed time, I explained that this was something my husband and I planned to do in the future, and it was not urgent, but we were curious to see what it might cost. Kelly suggested some additional things such as recessed lighting, and adding a cabinet and coutertop in the space that I had a rolling butcher block table with a microwave, but I was reluctant at first to add these additional things into the package. My biggest concern was changing out the countertop from the existing tile to Silestone, and installing a new backsplash as well. I had very little counter space and could not figure out how to really make it much better. I also wanted to change out the sink and convert the electric cooktop to a gas cooktop. My cabinets were original, and solid wood, and I did not want them replaced. Kelly gave us a bid on what we originally wanted to have done and my husband and I accepted the bid. When Kelly came back for the planning meeting, we began talking about the timeline. I once again stated my wish that we could somehow make more counter space, and Kelly had an epiphany. My current cooktop took up counter space, and my double ovens were across the kitchen from it. He explained that if we tore out the cabinet containing the double ovens and replaced it with a gas double oven range and hood, that we would reclaim a lot more counterspace. I was totally jazzed. Here was the answer to adding more counter space! I talked to my husband, and we decided to move the cooktop. As we talked, we realized that if we were going to spend the money to update our kitchen, then we needed to do it right and change the lighting etc. We added the recessed lighting, and also built the additional cabinet and counter top that was originally suggested by Kelly. We felt the additional bid was reasonable, and gave Kelly the go ahead. Kelly's crew began Monday October 1. His crew came out and very carefully covered the floor tile and got the place ready for demolition including closing off the kitchen from the rest of the house to keep the dust contained. It was amazing how fast the demolition occurred. over the next week. My husband and I did not have to be present, and left a key for Kelly to access the house along with the alarm code. We were completely comfortable with them having access to the house. Shortly after the initial demolition, Kelly had a kitchen designer have a look at our space. He suggested taking out the cabinets over the old cooktop area which had included the old hood which would open up the area, and then put recessed lights into the furdown which would be left. We agreed to have this done also. When the gas line was checked they found that a leak needed to be fixed at the fireplace and this was accomplished by Kelly's crew. I was wondering how the seams in the countertop would look. Kellly had assured me that I would barely see it, and he was right. The countertop being a U-shape had only one seam instead of the two I expected, and it was barely detectable. The new cabinet that was built matched my old cabinets exactly. In fact, it looked like it had always been there. Along with the plumbing, Carl, one of his crew, did some wonderful repair work on the existing cabinets that had been affected after the old cabinets were taken down. Once again, it looked like nothing had ever been there before the current cabinets. Kelly gave us the idea to do something special with the lighting over the counter and the dining room table area. I wanted state of the art under-cabinet-lighting and he supported me in ordering it and installing it. We chose to buy all the major appliances ourselves, but Kelly installed them. His crew even helped move the old refiegerator out to the utility room which was a major undertaking (my husband loves his new beverage refrigerator) When it was complete, we were blown away. We couldn't believe how beautiful it turned out. It was truly a team effort and it was worth it. The final test was when I hosted Christmas for my family. They were familiar with what our old kitchen had looked like, and I had kept it a secret till they walked in. They were amazed at the difference. My husband and I wanted to keep our den and formal living room intact. No walls had been torn down, but we were STILL able to have an updated kitchen to be proud of. Thanks to Kelly and Alliance Plumbing for a job well done! Kelly has before and after pictures of the project to show you if you are interested in his work.

Overall it was a great experience. I left a message over a weeekend for them to call me and I received a call first thing Monday morning. I arranged to have a quote on Tuesday morning and Agustin was very prompt and called exactly 30 minutes prior to let me know he was on his way. I received two quotes; one for regular hot water heaters and one for a tankless. Agustin took his time and explained in depth the benefits of each in detail when I asked questions. I arranged for the install to be on Friday at 8am. Friday morning they promptly called 30 minutes prior to let me know they had the new heaters and were on their way. Once here they put down canvas and wore boot covers in order to protect out carpet. During the entire install they took great care not to damage walls or floors. Once they cleaned up it was like they were never here. Agustin was very honest, knowledgeable, neat, professional, prompt and courteous. I definitly recommend them.

We live in an older home and the sewer pipes are going to need replacement everntually. We also have a bunch of trees which are quite destructive with sewer pipes. The technician from Alliance gave me a surprisingly honest appraisal, and suggested that if I did not want to spend over 6 grand to replace everything that we try the sewer snake first, which we did. This seemed to open up the sewer enough for things to drain but we will probably have to do the same every 6 months. Still better than spending 6 bills. Alliance also gave me a preferred customer discount for future calls by buying there service partner program.

We discovered a leak in the bathtub hardware in the master bath. I found Alliance on Angie's List and gave them a call. As this was not an emergency, we scheduled an appointment for the next day. The tech arrived on time, was very professional in appearance and job performance. He listened to my description of the problem and then inspected the hardware. He gave us a couple of options on how to correct the problem, explaining each in detail with acceptable estimates for the work. We decided on the appropriate repair and let the tech make the repairs to the faulty hardware. He made sure that he kept us advised of what he was doing throuhout the process. I will definitely use and/or recomment Alliance anytime.
