Matt and Steve showed up promptly, donned shoe covers and checked the AC unit in the attic, which drains into the plugged sink in the bathroom. They gave me a price, which included a discount for being a loyalty member, and proceeded to unplug the drain with a router. They were efficient and to the point, and showed up in the time frame that was scheduled.
Description of Work: I called in Alliance Plumbing to unplug a bathroom sink that had been plugging up for months.

Unfortunately, what I (as a non-professional) thought would be an easy and inexpensive job to put in a utility sink, run potable water to it so I could also use the ice maker in our secondary fridge was not grounded in reality. But if (when) I have future plumbing problems, Alliance will be who I call and I'll ask them to send Augustin if he's available.
Description of Work: Augustin called saying he had a chance to come a little earlier than our appointment (calling and coming early is a PLUS with me). He was very friendly, professionally dressed with his name & company uniform, and his picture on the side of the truck! When I commented on that, he said it's to assure the customers that he is legitimately with the company and a licensed and bonded professional. (I had to agree it would be a pretty elaborate scam for a phony to put his picture on the side of a fake vehicle.) I wanted an estimate for putting a "gardening utility sink" in our garage and also hooking up the ice maker in the fridge that we have out there. Since there are no water lines or drain methods that would meet local building codes in our garage, his description of what work and expense would be involved to meet code was very thorough, informative, and detailed.

I only ask for one guy and his name is Dustin and he does a fabulous job, he's very knowledgeable, very professional, he gives me all kinds of good advice and he's just a really good guy. In fact, I just referred him to a friend of mine who just moved in to the neighborhood and she had some plumbing issues with her new house so she called him to come and take care of her issues also.
Description of Work: They came and did a once-over to check out all the plumbing in the house to make sure that everything is working and gave me suggestions on things that I could improve on or that might be a potential problem in the future so they checked everything out and gave me a review on everything on the house. I've got a lot of plumbing issues that I'm glad to have them take care of it so I got he annual plan. I had a contractor from Home Depot that put in a new toilet for me in one of the bathrooms, did some re-tiling on my bath tub and did some faucet work in there and they knocked it up pretty bad so I had them come out and they fixed all that. They also put in my kitchen faucet and new garbage disposal.

They reset on one of the downstairs bathrooms toilet flanges, full replacement so the toilet seat would sit tight to the floor.. Very professional work. Cleaned up after his work. Other than the hole in the ceiling which will be repaired by other you would not know they had done any work. Every thing works. I like this company.
Description of Work: They were called for a couple of issues, we had a leak from the upstairs bathroom into the kitchen ceiling plus we needed one of the toilet flanges reset on one of the downstairs bathrooms. For the leak into the kitchen, he cut a minimal hole in the ceiling to identify the leak source from the upstairs bathroom. Again identified as a toilet flange that had disintegrated and was no longer allowing a proper seal to the pipe. Replaced seal with grouting to strengthen the seal with the flange.

Alliance Plumbing is my go to company for all my plumbing needs. They are responsive, punctual, neat, and professional in every sense of the word. Steven performed the task of replacing my water heater in my attic, and fixing the toilet in my master bath. He explained everything about my new water heater and answered all my questions. I never have to worry if the job is done right as I know they will respond immediately if there are any problems. The old saying "You get what you pay for" rings true with Alliance Plumbing. I have no doubts or worries when dealing with this company, as they treat their customers and their homes with dignity and respect.

I have used them twice recently and overall I was happy with them, but my house actually failed inspection because of a plumbing issue after they had been there so I was not happy about that, especially after paying $700. However, when I called them to come back out and correct the issue that they did not identify they came out very quickly the next day and did not charge me to correct the issue.
Description of Work: I used Alliance Plumbing for preventative plumbing work because I was selling my house and I wanted to make sure it passed inspection.

The call to Angie's List was smooth and I picked one of the providers from the suggested list. Alliance Plumbing was right in my neighborhood and the service provider came over in the middle of the morning which is what I wanted since the toilet was not working at all. The provider came over promptly as he said he would, and he was professionally dressed and addressed me. He offered me several options and an option that I proposed myself. I picked the option that best fit the situation and the age of the toilet. The provider went right to work on the problem and fixed the toilet with a one year warranty on labor and parts. He cleaned up water that dripped on the floor and demonstrated the new parts. All went well and I would rate the entire experience as EXCELLENT. The cost just hit me as a bit high. I rated it FAIR because I was expecting $300.00 range but a $500.00 range is what he gave me. So I chalked it up to my lack of knowledge in t he plumbing world. But I will use them again.
Description of Work: The Alliance Plumbing replaced all of the internal workings of the toilet and replaced the water line that is on the toilet.

Steven did a fantastic job - repairing emergency shutoff on toilet upstains, replacing P-traps that had been installed incorrectly by a previous home owner, and improving the water pressure at the bathroom sink. As he as been everytime, he is prompt, polite & professional. He is extremely conscientious about doing the work neatly, cleaning up afterwards, and leaving things as good as or better than he found them. I would recommend Alliance Plumbing to anyone in need of plumbing services.

This project was not an emergency, so I had some leisure on it. The sewer drain line from the laundry room and kitchen needed frequent cleaning, and I finally decided to replace it after a video inspection showed two bellies in the run. I got bids from two companies that had good ratings on Angie's List, and Alliance came in appreciably lower, so I went with them. We scheduled the work a few weeks out so that I could remove some old decking that was in the way for part of the project and to allow time for a utility survey. The project started on the agreed day. A crew dug a trench 90-100 feet long from the starting point at the house to a point where the old 2-inch line joined a 4-inch line that led to the municipal sewer line. They removed or, in some spots, bypassed the old 2-inch line. The old line had problems that showed plainly it was an amateur job, probably done by a previous owner of the house. The digging took the first day. No work occurred the second day due to rain (not the fault of the plumbing company). On the third day, the plumbers did their part. They laid new 2-inch line from existing outlets at the laundry room and kitchen, added a U-shaped pair of clean out taps near a 90-degree bend, and tied into the 4-inch line. The next day, the city inspector visited, and the trench was recovered. The digging crew did a good job of replacing removed stone flags through a patio area and grass in the lawn area. All work was outdoors and happened while I was at work but was ongoing when I returned home on the first (digging) day and the third (plumbing) day, when I chatted with the workers each time. I found them friendly and competent, and everybody seemed to take pride in their work. The plumbers were glad to answer questions that I had. I am happy with the work and would use this company again. Of course, the final proof will be if I can avoid having another clean out performed for a long time.

It was an awesome experience, considering how immensely stressed out I was. We just don't have much money, and a $6000 plumbing repair was a MAJOR emergency for us! Kelly worked with us to figure out how we could accomplish what was necessary without much hassle. On one of the days, two of the guys had to stay until after 10-pm because they were determined to finish. A couple of the other workers had to come out on a Saturday to finish the concrete portion of the job. All of the guys were friendly, professional, and pleasant. They did their jobs with determination & perfection, and when small issues arose (such as a reroute pipe that now was going to block an access gate to our yard), they immediately informed us and were even willing to relocate the gate.) They also did several small, kind jobs that weren't part of the contract - such as adjusting the height of my dryer, a corner of which I'd had propped up on a thick piece of cardboard to stop it from "creeping". Not an "important" thing, mind you - but the kindness and willingness to do something like that was truly wonderful! Details! They understand how small details make all the difference between a contractor and a professional! Kelly, in particular, was very understanding and kind. And I HAVE to mention this: When I wrote the final check on completion of the job, he immediately handed it back. I had accidentally written it for $1000 over the estimate!! He was amazingly honest & cool about it. He wouldn't accept it until I corrected the mistake, and, in the process, won us over. An honest contractor! Who'd'a thunk?? I hope that we have established a long-term relationship with him and his company. Having a 50-year-old house means you are bound to run into more issues down the line. OUTSTANDING JOB, GUYS!!
Description of Work: Checked out our house to see what was needed to repair a collapsed pipe under our slab house. After establishing a reasonable estimate - and saving us a lot of money in the process - Kelly took the job. His guys came out and did everything that needed to be done, and were finished on the following Saturday. Needed to re-routes the pipe from the kitchen sink, laundry sink, and laundry room which had collapsed from age and rendered us unable to use the washer, dishwasher, and kitchen sink.

Alliance assigned Danny to the job and he was a pleasure to deal with. When he was running late for the 8 am appointment, he called to let us know. He gave us a thorough estimate that included bringing the venting up to current code. We were a bit disappointed that the office had not conveyed that we wanted to do the work that day or the next. However, they worked the schedule and installed the heater the next afternoon. Danny and Matt did the installation and it is excellent workmanship. They were both very pleasant and professional and took great care to put down tarps, etc. so the house did not get dirty. Bottom line - excellent product, excellent installation crew. Maybe a bit pricey but worth it.
Description of Work: We had our 17 year old water heater replaced before it completely failed on us. It is located in an attic that has a small access door through an upstairs closet.

After discovering that the bathtub and toilet were not draining properly, I immediately called Alliance Plumbing. Jean answered my call, listened to my problem, and got me on the day's schedule - even though they already had a full day. Steven made it to our home about 5:30 that afternoon. He quickly diagnosed the problem and presented us with three options for repair. We elected to go ahead and let him remove the toilet, "snake" the pipe, and then run a camera down the pipe. He confirmed the presence of unlevel section of pipe. He got the bath and toilet functioning well enough to get us by for the time being and will help us determine whether the pipe section is our problem or the city's. He worked quickly, diligently, and professionally. He didn't quit until 10:30 pm. Steven and Jean again proved why Alliance Plumbing is the company we will call first for all our plumbing needs! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!!

The plumber with Alliance was Kenn Hager. I called at 8:00 am and they were able to make a 1:00 - 3:00 pm, same day appointment' The plumber called my at 1:00 pm and said he would be at my house in 30 minutes, he arrived in 20. He reviewed the problem and gave me three options. He explained each option, price and warranty. I chose the above described option, which was the most complete and also most expensive. This option should prevent any further problems. I also agreed to a service contract discounting the cost, extended the warranty, no emergency fees and provided other guarantees. I watched the work being done and was really impressed on the thoroughness of the work. He replaced all of the muddy soiled that had to be removed and cleaned up he area. He stayed long enough to allow the PVC glue to set and tested for leaks. He was here a little over two hours. It was a lot more expensive than I planned but I was satisfied with the work. With the service contract, I will definitely use Alliance plumbing again, if I require service.

Alliance Plumbing helped me greatly during a weekend emergency. My attic water heater was only two years old but malfunctioned, perhaps due to an installation error made by the company that had originally installed it, and water overflowed onto the ceiling of my upstairs bedroom. I noticed the problem on Saturday mid-morning when I saw water spots on the ceiling and also detected a strong "water smell" in the normally dry bedroom. Alliance Plumbing sent Kenneth Hager to take a look and see what was going on. There were many problems, the most significant of which, in my opinion, was that the water heater needed to be raised onto a platform that was up-to-code and also needed repairs that would allow the water, in the event of a future emergency, to drain from the attic properly. We also added an optional automatic shut-off device at my request. Before repairs began, Mr. Hager suggested that we call Dry Force to be sure that the water, caused by a slow leak, had not dripped down into the insulation. Dry Force used moisture meters and did determine that my insulation was soaked. They brought in big humidifiers to dry the ceiling; they also removed the bad attic insulation. At my request, Alliance recommended a painting contractor. I noticed that the person whom they recommended has a very high rating at Angie's List and has been working in my area for a long time. I have talked with the contractor, and he will repair my ceiling when it is dry. Alliance Plumbing provided a total emergency response package. It's hard to explain how alarming it is to find that a new water heater has caused so many problems. The ceiling was not terribly damaged but was much worse than the damage that I had from Hurricane Ike. I recommend Kenneth Hager and Alliance Plumbing VERY HIGHLY.

We just moved to the Clear Lake area and bought a house that was built in 1978. We were concerned and decided to call a plumber because (1) there was a knocking noise occurring whenever the hot water was turned on, and (2) the hot water heater was located in the attic - which was something we had not seen before. After looking at the reviews on Angie's List, we decided to contact Alliance Plumbing. We submitted a request for information about 8:00 PM via their website on a Tuesday. At 8:00 AM Wednesday morning, we had a call from the office to schedule a consultation. We met with Kenn about 11:00 that morning. He came to our home and, after making his diagnosis, assured us that the noise was simply coming from a pipe between the floors that had not been properly secured, and it was not a reason for concern. He also informed us that water heaters in attics is not uncommon in this area. After assessing the water heater, which was approximately 8 years old and already very rusty, he let us know that if we did some maintenance on it and its venting, it would probably last another two years. We told him we wanted to go ahead and replace it and had been doing some research on tankless heaters. He did an excellent job of making sure we knew all the pros & cons of tankless water heaters and exactly what to expect in terms of performance. He also provided us with options for tank water heaters. We elected to go with a tankless. He answered all of our questions and provided the appropriate estimates. We called later that same day to confirm that we did want Alliance to do the work. They scheduled the installation for Friday. Kenn and the other technician were prompt, professional, and persistent in making sure the job was done right, regardless of any challenges encountered.. They were also extremely considerate of our house and property - always using shoe covers when entering the house, placing a protective mat under the attic access ladder, etc. They also did a follow up visit to make sure everything was working as promised. From now on, we will always call Alliance Plumbing first for all of our plumbing needs. The service provided by Kenn and the other members of Alliance Plumbing was simply outstanding!

During our search, we contacted some half-dozen plumbing firms in our area (north Galveston County), of which all but one declined to undertake our project. Kenn and another rep came to our house, assessed the situation, and offered their bid. They pointed out that two tasks needed to precede their installation of the hot water dispenser: a circular hole of specified size must be made in our granite countertop, and an electricity source was needed under the sink. In the interim, we have had an electrical contractor doing a variety of tasks, among which was the installation of the 110 outlets under the sink. We also finally found a tile-and-counter firm that made the required hole. Yesterday, Kenn arrived by appointment and did the installation of the refrigerator water line and the hot water dispenser. He spent about five hours on the work, including a stint in our attic working on the water line. Shutdown of our water system was minimal, about 30 minutes. He worked quietly and efficiently, and offered some necessary instruction about the refrigerator's water works He was thorough and professional, working in his tee-shirt, then replacing his uniform to discuss the results and present his bill. Two downsides: We judge it possible that these jobs may have been done less expensively by another contractor. Don't know -- but Kenn's price seemed high. Also, the bill included a "Service Partner Membership" fee: for this one-time charge of $119, we receive a permanent 15% discount on any work Alliance performs on our house. No time limit is specified, and the deal is transferable when we move on to another house. Kenn pointed out that the fee was more than offset by the 15% discount, which he applied to the present job, and included it in his bill without asking. The inclusion of a large "automatic" charge always tends to offend me; moreover, we think that such "club" deals in the service industry sufficiently increase the cost of service that the customer pays significantly more in the long run. On balance, my wife and I are glad we used Alliance, and appreciate the good work Kenn did.
Description of Work: About two months ago, as part of a larger remodeling project on our "new" house, we sought plumbing contractors for two jobs: 1) Installation of an instant-hot water dispenser at the kitchen sink; and 2) Installation of a water line to our refrigerator for its internal icemaker. Alliance Plumbing's field representative Kenn Hager performed these tasks yesterday.

Description of Work: I SUPPLIED the two (2) faucets. All they did was change them out in one bathroom. The plumber was fabulous & explained to me that every charge for everything they do "comes from a book" & the plumbers are not allowed to change the price even if it is an esay job. My house is 30 years old so the connecter hoses needed to be replaced and required a pipe wrench thati,as a single woman, did not have. As I said. .. the fact I was charged 274.00 per faucet for a job that took 40 min. Is ridiculous. I paid it... but will go buya pipe wrench myself.
