He is my go to handy guy. He does just about everything. I have been using Gene for almost thirty years now for all types of work around my home.

. Mr. Scott (Gene) had done some painting for a family member who had known him well for several years as a musician. His work for them was beautifully done, and I learned he does a lot of other types of work besides interior painting. I had spoken to Gene about doing my kitchen update in 2011, but he does not do plumbing or wiring, so I went with someone who did all of that. When I wanted to make my dining room and living room wall texture match my new kitchen, I called Gene and asked him for a bid. It was very competitive, so I offered him the project. We scheduled for about two weeks later. He arrived every morning at 9 o'clock and went straight to work. If he was not going to arrive on time or had to be off the job for a day, he would let me know the day before He removed all of the old crown molding and repaired several cracks in the drywall of both rooms and left for the day to allow the mud to dry, returning the next day to apply a second coat to the living room drywall repairs. He also re-caulked around all of the windows and doors. When all the patches were completely dry, Gene sprayed on an orange peel texture to the walls both rooms. I decided not to have the ceilings re-textured.. When the texture had dried and set up, he painted both ceilings. He painted the walls of the two rooms over the next two days, returning the next day to touch up any areas where the paint didn't cover completely. The crown molding really adds some snap to the rooms. Gene also repaired several windows in the back of the house, where the drip sills had rotted under their aluminum trim. The sills are straight and true with good sharp corners and well caulked. Gene always cleaned up after himself every day, and is meticulous in his preparation. He allowed me to purchase my own paint and was agreeable to my doing the paintwork on the trim--of course, now I wish I had let him prep it! Gene is quick to say what jobs he doesn't do (flooring, plumbing and electrical), but does a beautiful job of those. He works quickly and quietly, and we were very comfortable for having him in our home for about seven working days. I highly recommend him for his professionalism, his pricing and reliability and his sense of humor.
