DON'T HIRE!! Travis was suggested by my boyfriends friend. He was scheduled to show up a particular day but he rescheduled me twice and when he did finally show up he was almost 2 hours late. Fixed the wall almost completely then said he fell into it! (I kid you not.) He had to start it over and it looked like this (see pic.) It doesn't at all look like the brick job around it. The brick is set in way to far (deep.) The mortar covers most of the sides of the brick and is almost flush with the brick. Some bricks are crooked as well, and the mortar color doesn't even match what was already there. PLUS, he never even touched the sheet rock!! He was called and said he would come redo it. The job was done on October 29, 2020. It's now been 4 phone calls, 3 reschedules (on his part) and 2 texts ago! Each time telling us he'd be out that week or such and such specific day. I have yet to see hide nor hair of him. This guy/company is a rip off. I rated the price as fair "C" because when he was hired I thought that was a fair price. After all this and the shoddy work...I definitely don't think it was worth the price at all! DON'T HIRE!!

We were left with an awful mess. None of the bricks they laid line up correctly, they left the job site littered with debris, and not only does the new mortar not match the house, it is at least three different colors itself. The estimator, William Andrew Bryant made promises that the work crew said were impossible to fulfill. The owner, Travis Edward Nech, said he would come out to see the job in person, but never showed up. None of our emails have been returned since. This is positively the worst contractor experience we've had in more than twenty years of home ownership.

These guys are crooks. Andy the sales guy represented a completely different repair than they actually performed. He bid a $1,600 scope of work and they performed a $400 job. They just sprayed sealer on the brick rather than replacing the grout and other aspects of the chimney they bid on. What's worse is they agreed to settle with me after numerous calls and endless no call backs and then they didn't honor the settlement. Crooks !!!!!!

They showed up close to noon when they were supposed to be there about 10 am. Job was a full day job (8 hrs), but I got maybe 4 to 5 hours of work from them. Person in charge left to go do estimates and left his two teenage sons there to help the only experienced guy who took off early. There are numerous spots where the excess mortar wasn’t cleaned/removed, one area that looks like it was chiseled out to put replacement mortar which wasn’t done, several joints where mortar was already missing and not touched, one place on the porch where the replacement mortar is already cracking, 3 places on the porch where mortar was placed but never worked (big globs), part of the house looks like it didn’t get the power wash and some of the last minute repairs and areas weren’t properly cleaned and treated with an acid wash. Needless to say I feel like what I got was not what I paid for or expected. The parts that were completed correctly I'm happy with (about half) - the other half is not great. I emailed them directly about this and never received a response.

DO NOT HIRE!!! Travis Nech is a conman and will steal your money. We hired him back in August 2017, when his business name was Long Horn Tuckpointing, to repair minor cracks in a few brick seams and to repair a large hole that the previous homeowner had cut out for a dog door. His sidekick, Andy, was in on it too. They asked for a 50% deposit and then said they would be back in a few days to start the job. Travis had to reschedule and push back our start date over a week and a half, and when he did show up, he started cutting into EVERY seam on the house. He even cut into seams on my decorative stone that DID NOT NEED REPAIR!!! In the pictures below you can see the dog door and 3 seams that needed repair according to my inspection report before I purchased the home. The following pictures are the damage that Travis did to my house. I have even more pictures that I couldn't upload because Angie's List limits it to 10...I have a total of 28 pictures showing all the damage. When I came to check on things on my lunch break, he said he needed me to pay the remaining 50% because they would be done before I got off work. I unknowingly gave him a check for the remaining balance, which he cashed less than 30 min after I left, and then NEVER returned to finish the job. Travis gave me excuse after excuse after excuse as to why he could not come back to finish the work. I asked for a refund and he mysteriously changed his company name and phone number around mid-September. On Jan 25th, I found his new company, Champion Brick Repair, and proceeded to write a review on Google. On Jan 26th I was told I would be getting a full refund if I removed my negative review off of Google. I agreed to remove my comment after the refund check cleared my bank. Yet Travis has once again started up with the excuses (he must really think I am stupid), so I wasn't holding my breath to get my money back. But FINALLY on Feb 23rd I was delivered a temporary check by Andy. I have removed my original review from Google, but have added another negative review because Andy conveniently changed our agreement after I cashed the refund check. He added that I had agreed to "refrain from defaming Champion Brick Repair, the owner or owners, and or any Subordinates" which I NEVER agreed to. Unfortunately the representatives of this company hold no integrity. Beware of any company associated with Travis Edward Nech. He is doing this in other cities all over Texas, so beware!! Here are a few other unhappy customers: [*** Link removed ***] [*** Link removed ***] [*** Link removed ***] [*** Link removed ***]

I have been researching this review for a few weeks. Unfortunately, we don't have any record of this customer. We can neither find them in our leads, nor on our schedule and have no record of an estimate or invoice for this person. Upon further review, we have discovered this person's address is not valid. This was done using Google Maps. The street view of this address is adjacent to a neighborhood on [[Member Information Removed] However, there is an alley between this neighborhood and the address she claims. There are 2 empty fields and a few businesses within approximately 1000 feet of the address. But as for houses remotely close to this location would be on Prairie Creek Ct. In fact the only house that can be seen on Google Street view is across the alley previously mentioned, and the address for this house is confirmed 1702 Prairie Creek Ct. Garland, Texas. I feel it is important to understand many of our competitors have been trying for years to sabotage our reputation. This goes without saying, but defamatory claims against Champion Brick Repair will be dealt with aggressively...

Terrible. We paid over $2000. The planter's box is obviously no longer square. The workman left without cleaning up his work. There was mortar and trash all inside the box and on the ground around it. We paid extra for "mortar match", the mortar they used is pink. I have emailed several times to get them to come back and fix their work. The first time they said they would try to come by the next week...they didn't. They have never responded to my email since then. My husband is now planting shrubs and bushes around the box to try and hide it.

Terrible. They collected a $2,141 deposit in July 2016 and then gave no priority to scheduling my job. We ultimately agreed that due to time constraints on other work I needed to have done, they would not be able to do the job and they assured me I would receive a refund check for my deposit (they claimed they could not refund my credit card, which is simply not true). I am still waiting on the refund and most likely will be forced to take them to court if I have any hope to receive any of my money back. Do not do business with Champion Brick Repair, Travis Nech or his estimator/project manager Andy.

I contracted with Andy at Champion on 10/7/16. The crew was to start work on the morning of 10/26. The crew was running behind so it was moved to Thursday 10/27. I told Andy I was leaving town Thursday afternoon. I took off work and waited until noon for a crew that never showed up. I called Andy and was told that since I might not be around to pay them Thursday he moved the job to Monday 10/31. I told him that a phone call notifying me that Champion was showing up would have been nice. I was told that I had a deposit put up that I would forfeit if I didn't like it. He rescheduled again for Thursday 11/3 and I took off work again to wait all day for a crew that never showed up again. I called him on his cell and the office over 10 times with no response. I finally got in touch with the San Antonio office and they got a crew out the next day. Andy called me after 6 pm to say he had an emergency and didn't have a phone. I took off Friday 11/4 for a 3rd time and the crew showed up and completed the work in about 3 hours. The only problem was they dropped a hammer and broke 2 flood lights and the fixture. The foreman said they would get a check out to me immediately for the cost to repair it. I am still waiting on the check. The grout looked great until it rained 3 days later and most of it washed out. I called Andy on 11/11 and sent him pictures. He told me they would cover it under warranty. He then emailed me and said he was trying to get a crew out 11/26. I sent several more e-mails and the San Antonio office told me on 12/1 that "my mortar would be delivered tomorrow". Andy e-mailed me on 12/2 saying they were still working on getting a crew to my home. I have e-mailed them several more times and I am still waiting for my job to be completed. I should have known when they requested a non-refundable $350 deposit that the company wasn't legit.

First, they rescheduled at least 3 different times. They said to replace he lentil would be an extra $300-$400 and we said great. They then told us that we could just put bolts in and it would provide the same result. The day they were done we realized the mortar did not match, nor did the bricks. Within weeks the work they did began to crack. We were charged for an acid wash, but it was not done either. We attempted to get them to come back out, but once again they no-showed 3 different times with different excuses. We began calling, but only got a voicemail full recording. I finally got Andy on the phone, assuming he is the owner, who told me to quit calling and threatened harassment charges. I finally got him to look at pictures that I emailed and he said that they would come back out. Once again they never came. Weeks went by and nothing...just excuses. I finally asked for our money back, but nothing. I have since had 2 more companies out who have told me that the job was done incorrectly. I am now having to pay another company to do the job over. I am in the process of filing a lawsuit against Champion Brick Repair.

Mortar cracked again within first month, mortar did not match, they did not acid wash but charged us for it and they will not come back after numerous phone calls and emails. They put bolts instead of replacing the I beam like we asked and offered to pay extra for and it is already leaning. We contacted them the first month, but they no showed 3 times and would never return a call. The voicemail is always full, I will now be forced to take them to court, Instead of honoring the warranty they have threatened me with harassment. Very confident that they sub the work out and that one person works Houston, Dallas and San Antonio. That is Andy.

We made an appointment, and the morning of the appointment it was raining. Champion called, and understandably didn't want to climb on a wet roof, so we rescheduled for the following Monday. Fifteen minutes after our appointment I called: "I'm just checking to make sure you have good directions, etc.". Champion, "I'm sorry, you're out of our service area." Me: "Well, OK, but did you consider calling and canceling?" Champion, "I meant to, but I got busy."

I was contacted promptly and estimate scheduled. The estimator showed up on time and provided a complete and professional estimate for what should have been about a 6-8 hours work to be completed in one day. The work was scheduled to be completed about 10 days from when the estimate was completed with the crew to arrive at 9 a.m. From here, things went down hill. The morning the work was to begin I was contacted about 9 a.m. and told they were behind schedule and would not be able to begin the work and would need to reschedule. I expressed my displeasure but agreed to reschedule. The crew showed up the morning the work was rescheduled between 10-10:30. I had called at 9 a.m. and requested a return call but did not receive one. I was told they had issues matching my brick but got the feeling they were late because they had to run by a brickyard to pick up brick. The crew ended up using the spare brick I had but I received no credit. The crew struggled with the brick removal and I was told they did not have the correct tools with them and they would return the next day. The crew left before 2:30. The next morning they showed up between 8-8:30 to begin work. I checked progress about an hour and was told the "big tool" they brought had malfunctioned but fortunately they brought "heavy duty blades" for the tool they were using the day before. Work continued for several hours but around 1:30-2 I was told they broke the remaining tool/blade due to the brick ties on my house and were leaving for the day. I had a discussion with the lead about the cap replacement on the chimney and was told he didn't know how to replace it and would have to talk with the more experienced senior person. They said they would return the following morning. I received a call later in the day from the more experienced person and told he would show up the following day to finish the job. Then I received another call shortly afterwards by the estimator and told it would be Tuesday as they could not purchase blade for their tool. Went to work Monday and about 8:30 a.m. received a call saying the crew was on their way to my house to finish the work. I left work and met the crew at my house. The more senior person arrived and directed the remaining crew and completed all the remaining work with-in a couple hours. Overall the quality of the completed work met minimum standards but did not go above that. The crew dumped water out with acid mixed in at least 3 different locations in my yard. It killed two areas in the yard that I have seen today and expect the third to die tomorrow. They dropped mortar on my shingles, flower bed pave stones, and on my front porch. It was minimally cleaned up as possible after I pointed it out to the senior person. Bottom line: The work was completed but took 3-4 times longer than quoted and my impression of the crew sent the first 3 days was not positive. I would have a difficult time giving them a recommendation.

Travis Nech and Brick Magic came out to assess the damage to our archway above our entryway. The initial estimate was $1,095 to repair. When the workers showed up, the determination was made that the repair was going to be more extensive than estimated. The new estimate was $2,800. The job was to take a couple of days. The crew that performed the work did not put down any type of drop cloth on the ground below and they failed to put anything to protect the front doors from debris. Once completed, the work was far from acceptable. The brick was not straight, mortar was spread too thick and covered most of the face of the bricks that had been repaired, and the crew did not clean up when they completed on a Friday. The foreman came out to collect final payment and was told that the work was not acceptable and that the crew did not clean up anything. He assured us that they would be out to clean it up and fix the repair the next week. The crew came out cleaned up some of the mess and tried to fix the repair for a second time. The work is still far from acceptable and again they decided not to clean up all of the mess they created. For the next couple of weeks, there were phone calls and texts to try to get them back out to fix this issue, but as of this post, that has not happened. During this ordeal, we have found out that the work was contracted out to Texas Brick Repair. I would strongly suggest that no one shoud hire Travis Nech/Brick Magic or Texas Brick Repair to do anything on their house.

Travis was extremely friendly and quick to estimate the job. Travis' original estimate was 50% of another firm's estimate and was on par with what a friend of mine in residential construction estimated. I believe it was a solid and honest price for the the work. Originally scheduled on a Thursday, I got a call on Tuesday evening letting me know that another job had unseen complications and my job would be moved to Saturday morning (or any other day that was convenient for me). He was honest and upfront as soon as he knew that the date of my job was going to be delayed. In the real world, responsibility for unexpected issues doesn't always happen. Come Saturday, the crew arrived, confirmed with me everything that was to be done... and said "great we'll get it done and get your approval when completed." A few hours later, I heard a knock on the door and they said, "all good?" I'm very satisfied with the entire experience, would use BrickMagic again, and also highly recommend their services.

It was aweful! Travis (the general manager) quoted the work to start on a Monday and it would be complete in one day. After not showing up for the entire week for which he had several excuses, he finally showed up the next week and tried to address the issue. From the start of his work it was apparent he had no clue what he was doing. They subcontract out all their work and luckily the crew was able to put the front wall back together however It was not fully completed for which we will have to hire another company to come in and fix some cracks in the mortar. It was the biggest waste of money and also the time I had to spend tracking him down in order to complete work.

Crew installed 18 piers, work appeared to be OK. Next day noticed extensive sheetrock damage in the house, and a newly cracked foundation outside beam and floor. Also concrete repair to walkway was shoddy so that water puddles there now. Contractor back filled flower beds, but did not protect shrubs, so they all died. I have with-held final payments until repair work is finished. We are 6 months past the work started and still not resolved the issues! Contractor is threatening legal action. Independent Licensed Professional Engineer's report says the Contractor over lifted the foundation which caused the concrete cracks. Engineer told us we should have tried a soaker hose first before lifting the foundation. City says Building Permit is required, but no permit was issued to the contractor.
