We had used this painter before on another smaller project, so called him back for this larger project. The job started off well; however, it quickly became evident that things were going terribly wrong. The painter didn't prep or sand any of the wood trim, thus, the "stain" wouldn't adhere. (He let one of his employees apply the stain instead of doing it himself, and the employee didn't know what he was doing.) Also, the pre-painting preparation was sloppily done, therefore allowing overspray onto other walls and surfaces. The crew would show up late and leave early, so the entire project took three times as long as was stated in the bid. Clean-up was a nightmare, the clean-up being mostly left to my husband and myself. There is still paint on the floor and walls where the surfaces were not taped off correctly. Also, the stain that was applied to cabinets and trim had to be touched-up numerous times to cover the initial flawed application. The stain that was used for the touch-ups was not a perfect match, so the final result was horrible, with numerous shiny spots on the original matt surface. The final straw, however, that made me want to leave this "warning - beware" review was what happened on the final day. As soon as my husband left the house for work, the painters started packing up, leaving the job unfinished. When I tried to speak to Mr. McWilliams about the invoice and them leaving without finishing the touch-ups, he yelled at me and got in my face. I've never in my life experienced such unprofessionalism - EVER. The only thing out of the entire project that turned out well is the kitchen - he has talent - BUT - he doesn't take notes, he's sloppy, he's unprofessional, and rude. There are other's out there, I'm sure, who would have done a better job.
Description of Work: Textured, painted, faux finished all walls on lower level of house. Trim throughout house, upper and lower level, plus all doors and cabinets were stained and shadowed to create a "furniture" effect. The kitchen cabinets were hand finished to give an "old world" effect.

Horrible job. Bobby committed the cardinal sin of painting. He painted all water based latex over old oil based enamel. It is now peeling off in sheets. He did NO sanding or priming on almost every area, and sprayed the entire job in 4 ½ days. He RUINED the beautiful old woodwork, including paneled doors, baseboards, cabinets, bookcases, and wainscoting. He sprayed over wall plugs, light switches, and even pieces of paper taped to the inside of the medicine cabinet! Overspray abounded. He even painted over ceiling texture overspray without sanding it off. We told him to use Sherwin Williams paint and even picked out their colors. He then proceeded to buy from Pittsburg Paints, where he got a better deal. He refused to acknowlege that he made a mistake, even when we showed him the paint literally peeling off with the fingernail-- blamed us for using our fingernails! His remedy to placate us was to paint one coat of oil based alkyd over the latex without sanding or priming; of course, it also failed. I am convinced that he is incapable of doing the job according to the customer's wishes-- just HIS way! When my wife confronted him when he came back to fix the damage by asking him to prime the defective paint first, was rude to her and said that we would have to pay extra if we wanted that! He then stormed off. I have had 4 different painters look at the job, and all agree that this is the sorriest job they have seen in quite some time. Our plan was to remodel the house completely BEFORE moving in; however, Bobby has ruined that idea. We are now in the house, scraping and sanding off the acrylic latex ourselves every night. He has refused to refund any of our money. We have received 3 different bids to repair the damage he caused. Estimates range from $7500 to $9950 just to sand it all off and repaint it. We are reasonable people, but Bobby is a "lick and a promise" painter, and will not stand behind his work! DO NOT USE THIS MAN'S SERVICES. YOU WILL REGRET IT!
Description of Work: Painted the entire inside of our home, except for the laundry room, closets, and garage

He gave us absolutely the very best price by far of all the buds we got. We provided the paint and we got a pretty good job for the low cost. If you're a real stickler or perfectionist you wouldn't be happy as there were some minor flaws. Like it wasnt perfect straight paint where tan walls met ceiling. But for the great price we were happy!

He was timely and came out very quickly. He gave me a quote and did the job. I felt his prices were reasonable and his work was what he said it would be. He worked with me on colors and was very nice. They were nice and neat. I was very happy with his work. I would use them again.

He did very sloppy work. At the end he got in a hurry. I wanted the roping around the cabinets in a dark brown color and he got it on the white cabinets. Once I paid him he was gone and would not come back to fix it. I would never use him again or recommend him.

We engaged Bobby to paint the exterior of a newly built pottery studio on our property and he did a fabulous job! Quick and reasonably priced - so when we were ready for a much larger project, we called on Bobby for an estimate. The major task was removing carpet in 4 rooms, and prepping the concrete for stain. He and his crew moved all the furniture out, covered everything else, and got to work immediately. They worked quickly, always cleaning up after themselves, and his crew was very respectful of our home. The floors turned out beautiful! He then painted both front and back porch ceilings a lovely blue (to discourage wasps and other pests), and painted our out-buildings (shed and well house) to match the studio he had painted a few months ago. It was not easy camping out during the process, but Bobby did all he could to make it bearable, and he finished as quickly as he possibly could. Highly recommend for all your painting needs - he specializes in faux painting techniques.
