The shower drain was not installed correctly when the house was originally built 40 years ago. Bantex corrected the drain to prevent further damage and mold, replaced all damaged framing, re-tiled the shower and replaced the fixtures in the shower.

I initially got 3 estimates from Angie's List. I went with Terry Banta from Bantex Construction because he was prompt, fair and straight forward in his assessment and recommendation. He stayed in constant communication in regards to ordering, delivery and installation of the project. We will absolutely use Bantex Construction in the future.

From the bid process to the final signoff, Bantex Construction was professional, flexible and pleasant. We had experience with a different contractor that did not work out very well, so we turned to Angie's List in search of a new contractor. Our experience with Bantex could not have been better! In our initial visit, we showed Terry around the house and gave him a sense of what we wanted to do. He asked good clarifying questions then clearly outlined the next steps, which were for him to engage his subcontractors in the bid process and present us with a bid. The bid was very fair and Terry was pleasantly transparent about how he came up with it. He also was very clear that it may go up or down depending on what they found once they started the work, but he would review any changes with us before the work was done. He was true to his word on this, and we had opportunity to say yes or no to every change. Additionally, Terry was reasonable with periodically settling up on the bill and did not nickel-and-dime us. Terry also did a great job setting our expectations. Before we started, he mentioned several times that the process would be incredibly dusty and although they would do what they could to contain the dust, there would only be so much that they could do. It is one thing to hear it and another to experience it, but when we started to experience it, it was not a surprise. Terry and his foreman BJ exhibited exceptional customer service. Every step of the way they asked if we were happy, and when we had concerns, their focus was on resolving them. They were very flexible and accommodating with our hectic schedules, and with every timeline change we requested, responded with "you're the customer and we want you to be happy". Both Terry and BJ have an eye and a demand for high quality work, and if something needed to be redone they took care of it without us having to ask. Terry managed our project so we didn't have to, which is precisely why we hired a contractor. We definitely will hire Bantex Construction for our next project!

I had the most amazing experience working with Terry Banter at Bantex Cons. For one, he doesn't try to scam you. I needed a load-bearing wall torn down in my house, and while others were charging ridiculous amounts of money and would not start work for months, Terry assured me it would be done the following week at a reasonable price. He got my wall torn done within a week and only charged me a fraction of what the other guys were charging ($8,000 vs. $2,000!!!!). His workers did the job efficiently and cleanly, and I have put Terry on speed dial for other work needed in my home. I give my whole-hearted recommendation to anyone who wants to use Bantex for their home remodeling needs.

I was considering doing a home remodel on a potential purchase and Terry gave me very professional and concise information. He was direct and honest on a potential cost and didn't sugar coat the costs and issues I would come across. I would definitely give him the opportunity to provide his GC services on any project I had to do.

First and foremost, I'm a nervous person. I read reviews and I've read a lot of horror stories about contractors and dreaded the day I would have to trust in one. Then, it happened. My mother needed to be placed in an Alzheimer's facility and my father decided he no longer wanted to live alone - we needed more space. And, we needed the job to be done well, promptly and at a reasonable price. I talked with several general contractors and almost lost hope! Then, we stumbled upon Terry Banta (Bantex) on Angie's List. We had decided, for our budget, that the best route was to build in half of our existing two car garage. I know.....usually doing that looks terrible - and never looks right! I asked Terry if we could leave the existing door (we have two garage doors) in place so that it would appear from the outside that we still had a two car garage, but build it in for the space we needed. He replied "we'll do whatever you want". And that's exactly what he did. He stayed on top of the entire process - pouring concrete to level the garage floor, extend our backyard patio and add another parking space (required by our city). Electrical work, framing, drywall, flooring, paint, cabinets (for the mudroom), countertops (we liked Terry so much we opted to go ahead and update our bathroom countertops and new master bath floor as well!) and, we needed a lawn sprinkler - so, he set us up with that as well. ALL of his subcontractors were excellent! Something I did NOT expect was that each and every one of them were conscious that we were living in the space while construction was being done. They were courteous, on time, and cleaned up their messes - EVERY DAY. When I was curious about the progress or had a question, I always called to talk with Terry. If I didn't get him on the phone I'd leave a message and I think the longest I waited for a response from him was 20 minutes! This guy is prompt - and on top of the ENTIRE process!! And, if he didn't know the answer to something he'd find out - right away. He kept us on track for expenses and would always check with me prior to doing anything that might cost over budget. And, everything that came in over his estimate - was because I ADDED to the job. Most of the line items came in UNDER budget - for which we were grateful! I can't say enough good things about Terry and his group of sub-contractors!! I'm definitely keeping his name in my phone book and have no reservations recommending him to anyone and everyone. I've been battling a problem with a water damaged beam in my garage all summer. Contacted several "remodeling" companies and several "carpenters". Some of these posers looked at the problem and never came back. Some never even showed up. Some of them couldn't even figure out what the problem was. Terry at Bantex sent his framer (Bob - good guy) over and after about 6 six hours the problem was fixed. Watch out for losers in the remodeling business - they're everywhere. I highly recommend these guys.

We own a house built in the early 1930's and I don't think it has ever been touched by a true professional. With multiple add-ons and do-it-yourself errors. We knew that we would have to get a first rate contractor to do our job. Coming in to this remodel we knew that this job would be a big one. Terry came out and listened to our ideas with an open mind. He gave us advice where he thought we could change some things and how best to go about doing, what was essentially, a complete redo of the floor plan of our house. After that initial visit Terry brought his subcontractors out all together. And I mean they really came in and asked questions and wrote down the things we wanted. Terry really takes charge of the guys and doesn't let them get carried away. You can really tell that he has the experience and know-how. The best thing about Terry is that he will listen to you and give you what you want. The project took exactly 8 weeks to complete (which was what he told us it would), and we lived in the house the entire time and we never felt like we shouldn't be there and Terry checked on us multiple times a week. He has got a great team of subs and enjoyed working with most of them. In the end we got everything we wanted and are enjoying our house immensely.

Mr. Banta responded to my phone call immediately, driving over within the hour to give me a bid. I needed the work to be done quickly in order to prepare for replacing my floors that were damaged by an AC condensation backup ( another story). Though his bid was slightly higher than others, he was able to work with me to get the job started just two days later while the others could not start for at least a week. . The job had several parts to it, requiring a variety of workmen ( carpenter, drywall plastering, painter). Each man arrived within 15 minutes of the set time and each was polite. Each one was careful to clean the area when he completed his part of the work. Mr. Banta checked back several times to be sure the work was progressing as I wanted it to. I am amazed at how well the new area matches the original. At the end of the job, I was actually charged 14% less than the original bid. I will definitely recommend Mr. Banta to friends and use him again for future jobs.

Terry personally came out to my house to look at the project. He gave me an estimate of the project a few days later. It was a reasonable price for all the work that had to be done. I am happy with the results. Terry is very easy to work with and his contractors are professional.

Bantex came out next day and did the drywall repairs needed so I could get my house on the market. I appreciate how quick and well the project was done. Thank you - it was one important thing off my list done!

My wife and I just purchased a house and wanted to remodel with new paint and addition of crown moulding. We found Bantex Construction on Angies list and gave Terry a call. He responded very promptly and is a professional in every manner. We explained what we wanted and Terry provided an estimate that was within our price range and came below what we were expecting. We have been very pleased with the whole process. The crown moulding installation went very well and Hugo and his painting team were excellent and very professional. The finished product is beautiful and we definitely will use Bantex Construction again. As a matter of fact we have other projects lined up for next year and plan to contact Terry for his expertise again. One final kudo for Terry...we had three unexpected delays in our schedule and Terry patiently worked with us. I would not hesitate to recommend Bantex Construction to both family and friends.

The price was the best price among all the quotes. The final price came in slightly under the quote. The materials arrived on schedule and work was performed on schedule. The workmanship was excellent and all of the work crew was very polite and professional. The owner took much pride in his product and service and followed up on a regular basis to make sure we were satisfied. He even followed up after he was paid to make sure everything is still good. This is a very honest and quality minded company.

Terry Banta (owner) was extremely helpful with design and cost savings during initial discussions prior submitting an estimate. Terry's estimate was very competitive when compared with other local home builders. All aspects of the work were done professionally. Terry ensured the work continued at a very good pace and the yard and surrounding area was kept clean and free of debris during construction. Terry responded immediately to any issues that arose during construction. Although weather has been a factor this spring, the project was completed quicker than expected. I am extremely pleased with all parts of the final work. The brickwork is especially good. The existing brick is over 23 years old, but Terry was able to mix a few of the old brick from demolition with new brick that matched fairly close. The final look is a very good match with the rest of the house. This is important because the addition faces the front of the house (street view). Final cost came in below the estimate when considering a few additions required after the estimate was submitted. I highly recommend Terry for work. I know I will be calling him if I need any work done in the future.

Called Terry to discuss future remodling job and immediate floor installation. Terry was prompt to return my call. Terry came over promptly to discuss upcoming and immediate projects. Terry sent over a sub-contractor with over 18 years of experience to install my floors. They were professional, courteous and did a fabulous job. Terry is a wealth of knowledge and resourses. Terry continues to touch base with me and we continue to work on my future remodling job. I look forward to many more projects with Terry.

We questioned some of the frame work in our attic and did not know what professional could help us determine if, or what, we needed to do to make it right. We called Bantex construction from Angies list because they are builders and remodelers so we thought they should know. The owner, Terry Banta, spoke with me and after hearing my concern, knew right away we needed a framer and put me in contact with his framer, Bob. Bob and Rob came out and after going into the attic, explained everything to me. They assured me that everything I needed was there and no repair or intervention was needed. These men did a great job of educating me so that I understood that it really was ok. I felt like I could trust them and if I ever need framers I will call them right away. They did not charge me a dime. Terry called back later to ask how my experienced was and of coarse I told him how pleased I am with his framers. I am writting this review because, although I didn't get any work done in my home, I believe my experience with Terry, Bob, and Rob says alot about this company. The fact that they did not try to charge me for work I didn't need (honest), they took the time to educate me (considerate), and Terry following up (customer satisfaction a prioity--even when he didn't make money off of me, WOW!) are all traits that I look for as a consumer. We will definatley call Bantex again if we have need of the services they offer.

It didn't. For this provider I did read similar issues but tried them regardless. I'm sure if they had actually submitted a bid and had actually done any work, they may have done a fine job. Disappointingly unprofessional.

Terry is very knowledgeable and thorough. He made many suggestions to improve our project. He provided quality craftsmanship at a quality price. Always punctual and always followed through. We found him on Angie's list and we are so glad that We did!!

Our "relationship" with Terry Banta began back in November 2013 when he came out to give us an estimate on expanding our house. We then decided just to move - the house was just too small for our family. Found a "new" old home that needed extensive remodeling -moved in March 2014. Terry told us that he was very busy but he came out to tell us what it would take to 100% remodel our new home before we made our offer - we wanted to make sure our purchase price would be affordable. Then Terry came back out after our purchase to specifically look at the kitchen - our first project. He even brought his cabinet builder. He did give me fair warning - he was super busy and may not get to us until late summer. He called me in late summer to let me know that it could now be Fall. By this time, it was getting more difficult to use our 1963 kitchen. So I got bids from other contractors. Found one we liked. However, their cabinet builder kept delaying the start. In frustration I called Terry to see if there was any way he could do this. I was ready to drop the new contractor. Terry was sympathetic but still was swamped. However, he said that his cabinet maker was not on any of his jobs right then and he would put him in touch with me. I was sooo grateful! Terry did not have to do that. He was so generous. His cabinet maker did BEAUTIFUL work! I ended up with a great kitchen. While we could have waited, if it had not been for Terry and his continual keeping in touch with us, our kitchen would have still been under construction at Christmas. Thanks to Terry and his offer, it was done mid-December (started Oct 27th) we made cookies on our new island and served Christmas dinner out of our new kitchen. Thanks so much Terry!!

Terry of Bantex was easy to work with.

We had two walls we wanted removed to open up our floor plan. Terry came out and gave us a quote based on the worst case scenario (without tearing out the drywall they couldn't determine the exact amount of work required). The quote for the worst case scenario was cheaper than I thought it would be and we ended up with the best case scenario once the drywall was removed. Terry really worked with us to allow us to do what work we could ourselves to keep our costs down. The subcontractors he sent out for electrical and heating and air were all excellent. We have several more projects to do in the future and Terry will be the first and only person we call.

Went great. I have used Bantex 2 years ago for our prior house remodeling. That job went so well, I didn't even get additional bids for this job. Terry knows what he is doing and has the best subs working for him. We have phase 2 of this remodel coming up in early 2015 and we will be using Terry again. He is worth the wait.

Very well. The project was on tome && budget. The workers were polite & professional. They cleaned up afterwards & we are very. Pleased.
