They came out, and quoted the job. I accepted the quote,(without any haggling over price. ) I agreed to pay for them to rent the equipment they needed upfront.($150 for a pump and pressure washer) I personally have both, but I don't like to haggle over little things, and $150 wasn't unreasonable. I then made the mistake of asking when they would be starting, and at what time to expect them to arrive on Monday,as Steven had said it would be next week when they could start. Thomas got offended, because I told him that I'd like to know when they would be arriving, and that if he told me 9am, and somebody didn't show up (without a phone call) until 3 PM, that I would be upset. I told him that it didn't matter what day or time he told me, just as long they arrived at that time(give or take 30 mins). I've never had a contractor get offended over that request. I told him that if something happened and they would be late, all he had to do was shoot me a text message. For the record, this was my first contact with this company and this wasn't a simple pool cleaning. There where repairs that needed to be made, the pool needed drained and cleaned, and a leak found. The reason this is so important to me, is my wife's health, she has numerous doctors appointments/therapy sessions every week. She has a tennis ball size tumor in her brain. If I have contractors coming, and I need to have my parents drive 45 mins to get here to take her to a doctors appointment, I want to make sure the contractor shows up when he/she says he/she will. I explained this to Thomas. Having owned my own IT company and Santa Claus and Photography company for over a decade, I would never get so offended and upset over such a request. In fact, I gave my IT customers a 1 hour window for our arrival, and if my guys where going to be outside the window (even 5 mins), they would call the client, or have me call. Or our other business, timing was crucial, so we got there early, and where prepared to start exactly the time the client wanted, if not earlier. It's simple respect. If someone can't agree to show up when they say they will, why should I expect them to do the work they say they will? This happened yesterday evening,(10/18) this morning I get a voicemail/text messaging telling me that he no longer wants to do the job. I was really impressed with this company, until this. I never would have imagined that asking someone to show up when they say they will was offensive. So beware, if people doing what they say they will is important to you, this isn't the company to go with.

My pool was a mess. Some pavestone sand blew into the pool and best guess is there was a chemical reaction due to the pH being high. The sides and bottom were coated with a fine golden brown particulate. I swept for a week with little improvement. I found Thomas on Angie's List. Even though I am a new customer and informed him I do my own weekly maintenance he came out promptly to assess the problem and do some prep work. He then returned 2 days later, balanced the water and cleaned the pool and filter. Within hours the pool looked amazing. I found Thomas to be prompt, dependable and very knowledgeable, I will definitely use him in the future. I wish I had called him sooner instead looking at a nasty pool for a week. I have not received the invoice yet so I don't know the cost of the service.

I attempted to schedule several pool service and repair vendors that I had used previously. Because this is their busy season, I either received a one-week out service date or no response at all. My wife located A & M Pool Service & Repair on Angie's list on Saturday, 4/11/15, so I called and left a voicemail just as I had done with all that I had called before. Thomas Spann returned my call within a few hours. I explained the issues I was having with my pool. He gave me some things to try that might resolve the issues. I did so with little/no result. Thomas said he would try to come out Monday, 4/13/15 to provide service, weather permitting. True to his word, he came on the day he said he would, even though it was raining. He had said that it was not necessary for anyone to be at home when he came to service the pool, even though the competitors had said they would need someone present. That would mean burning a paid time off, so Thomas saved that time for another day. He inspected the problems and called me with those solutions and a fair estimated cost. I was very pleased with all of that and told him to proceed with the repairs. He had the issues resolved quickly and even told me to watch for certain things to prevent future issues. I could not be more pleased with Thomas' professionalism, quality, responsiveness, punctuality, courtesy and price. In an industry filled with companies and individuals that tend to take advantage of unknowing clients, it is refreshing to know that there are folks like Thomas Spann. I would not hesitate to recommend A & M Pool Service & Repair to anyone!

basically, i do my own pool spring check but this year i had issues with pool pressure and flow. I felt that the pump may be going out but after talking to the owner of A & M pool service, a few inspection points were needed. Being unfamiliar with taking the pump and/or pool valve apart, I hired A&M Pool Service to perform this for me. They were very prompt in working me into a busy schedule, took the time to explain everything to me and I was very happy to pay just a nominal trip charge and a 1 hour rate. I felt very comfortable that if they were to recommend any replacement items, that they truly would have been needed. I will definitely use A&M Pool Service for future pool service needs.

The owner is a great guy. He is knowledgable and happy to please. The worker seems steady but not as knowledgable and I have to communicate with the owner with problems I see. I have used them maybe for 6-8 months. They are dependable and the pool looks great.

Started out good, Thom is a good enough guy but they had and endless crew of people coming into our yard and the quality started to skip. We elected to go to another service company.

We have used him all summer and have him doing some bi-weekly maintenance this winter. He has done a much better job than several pool personnel I used before. I would recommend A & M Pool Service.

My pool is always so crystal clean and beautiful! They consistently do a fantastic job and my family is very pleased with their service. They are friendly and provide me with information and instructions to make sure that we get the maximum enjoyment out of our pool at a very economically price.
