FAULKENBERY CONSTRUCTION

Description of Work: Removed wallpaper in kitchen and repainted kitchen and family room. Removed built in entertainment center in family room and installed new to accommodate large screen TV. Installed korbles and reinforced wall to accommodate new granite breakfast counter.

Description of Work: The front porch posts, railing and slats were the original wood installed when house was built in 1985. It had begun to rot and decay and was unsightly. New redwood posts and railing was installed and painted to update this porch at the front of the house. The slats were inset into the railing and very professionally done with attention to detail. In addition to the front porch, the back porch post was also decaying at the bottom jepordizing the support of the back porch roof. This redwood support was also replaced and painted. Metal bases were installed for all porch posts to prevent future decay. The company also patched and repainted a bathroom ceiling due to termite damage. They matched the texture perfectly and the painting was exceptional. As you would expect, no one would even notice the ceiling had been redone.

Description of Work: Do not use Faulkenbery Construction. Company also goes by the name Simply Shade and Windows. Corbett Faulkenbery is the most unprofessional and incompetent contractor we have dealt with in Texas. We have had wonderful electricians, landscapers, masonry, general contractors, plumbers work on our home. They were all great. Simply said, to deal with Faulkenbery Construction was a nightmare. Faulkenbery Construction went 6 weeks over the estimated completion date. He always has an excuse of why things are going wrong, none of which are his fault. The quality of our product was poor. After he started the remodel , he told us he made $5000 mistake in the bid and wanted more money. He did the electric work without puling a City permit. Then we found out it was done wrong. He built part of the project the WRONG SIZE. Our room leaked after the first rain. Corbett Faulkenberry kept telling us he has been in business for 15 years. I really don’t believe him. He is the most disorganized contractor I have ever dealt with. We are very disappointed with the final project and have hired another contractor(s) do do additional work. Update: 10/25/11 He had to come back last week, because after two 'caulking' repairs our roof STILL leaked like crazy after the September 19th rain. We called the next day and Faulkenberry was in no hurry to come to our house and fix our leaking roof, FOR THE THIRD TIME. We will not know if it is repaired until the next rain. Update: 10/25/11 Faulkenbery construction came back to us after the job was almost "finished" and told us he made a $5000 error in our bid. Can you imagine he wanted to charge us $20,000? We would have NEVER used this company if his bid was that high. The highest bid we got from Lowes was $9000.00. I really think he is a con-artist. Update: January 2012, Still leaking.
