TruGreen Lawn Care - 5420

Terrible! We have 2 homes in 2 different cities under contract by TruGreen. DEFINITELY WILL NOT BE RENEWING CONTRACT!!!! Very disappointed in customer service, continually trying to upcharge us, unable to speak to a customer service representative, charged us twice in a month more than once, charged us for services not in our contract, unable to communicate with the service department directly/you basically have to call main number and play like you are wanting new services for your home. It’s a JOKE! It’s taking me 3 phone calls to cancel my contract!!! Ridiculous! Read BBB, Yelp and other places for reviews. Their website reviews are FAKE!

They cancelled twice due to rain and 2 other appointments they never showed up. No call. I asked 3 times for a window of service so I could be present the first time. I paid for the year in advance. I finally called to cancel and ask for my money back. Hopeful they do that professionally. I have to wait 7- 10 days. The next day a sales guy comes to our neighborhood. I told him, you sound super knowledgeable but your techs obviously have no time to do business. Maybe they need less sales guys and more techs.

Have HUGE brown/dead spots of grass all over my front yard - acre lot - from TruGreen "applications" of fertilizer and weed control. Have no idea how they managed to damage so much yard, and neither do they.. Had been working with Plano TX office to try and amend, but unable to all summer - yes, the brown spots lasted all summer. It's now late September, and the HOA just notified me I need to make repairs, so just fired TruGreen this evening. Do NOT hire this company - go with a local small company that knows what they're doing - the large corporations just won't hold themselves accountable and hire the weakest of the weak employees. BTW - the techs that caused the brown spots are still employed by TruGreen - that pretty much says it all.

Treatment did not address weeds. Aeration was effective.

Honestly, it just cannot kill our weeds, but you call them and they will come back out. After they spray like about fourteen days or something, they will come back and they will keep coming back as long as you call them and you are not satisfied. They just cannot kill the weeds, but their customer service is good. I would use them again. I would give them one more year.

They were not very professional I told them from the start that I was very allergic to sulfur products and I caught the 5 separate times telling me they needed Sulphur for the PH factor. I have asthma and I couldn't go out in my yard until the sulfur products wore off. I went out one time and had an attack and couldn't breath for several hours.. Thank God for my rescue inhaler or I wouldn't have been able to breath at all. After I wrote my review for the company I started to get phone calls three to four times a week. They were harassing me into getting their services again. They told me that they had charged me $800+ for a service. I notified my bank and the fraud department took care of the charge. I told them that I do not want their service, I told them not to come out. They are harassing me and they won't respond to Angie's List about the complaint.

Nothing is really great about them. We have had them for years. Our lawn is just not doing that well so we are thinking about cancelling. They say all the right things but it just doesn’t happen. We keep giving them more chances and they promise that things will get better and it hasn’t. We haven’t really compared them to anybody else and I don’t know what others would charge. We would probably not be using them much longer.

They have also treated my trees and shrubs in the past. My grass is always green and healthy. If I have a concern, they address it right away and fix the problem. I'm very pleased with their services.

Great job. Yard looked awesome, but a little pricey, so am using my regular yard guy now.

We see their trucks all over town and our neighbors liked the results (even though the cost is a little high). Our yard is the largest yard in the neighborhood, but they initially came out and said the front, back, sides and around the pool would be "no problem". This spring when the grass is dormant it is so incredibly obvious where they never sprayed. When we called them to come back out and told them that we preferred to meet them at the house so we could just point out the areas, they just came anyway and left a note saying they sprayed. However the large patches of GREEN in the middle of the front yard, the large green patches on the side of the fence, and all over the backyard shows that they did not do what they said they would. Our neighbors, with MUCH smaller yards and no pool have no issues. We all laughed that they must have "run out of hose" because there was NO way they could reach the sides and the back with their truck parked out front, and yet the neighbors said they never moved it when they applied it. They left the truck in the street and never came to the alley way where you can access the rest of the yard (even if the hose was to be placed over the fence). The MOST interesting thing about this was that they have a policy wirtten on all of their receipts that says that they want you to be happy and will come out "as many times as necessary" so that you are completely satisfied. Yet, when my husband called and said that they need to come out again because it was still obvious where they were not spraying, the woman said, "We are sorry to lose you as a customer", and then said we would be removed from the route. Unreal

Trugreen is the worst company I have ever dealt with. From the first treatment in April until finally getting my last refund this month in October. I was so excited about Trugreen, and how I thought that they were going to help me get my lawn to a healthy green state. The first treatment in April, really didn't do anything, but I wasn't expecting to see results either, which was cool. The next treatment yield no results as well. By june, I started noticing that the company would send their workers out to treat the lawn without my permission. I, at the beginning, was very patient and willing to work things out. After each treatment, the service receipt would say that they serviced my entire yard including the back yard, but the gate was always locked, so there was no way that they could service the back yard. I called and complained and they continued to send the guy out only to yield the same results. From April til the last treatment in September (I believe) all the receipts say that they did the enitre yard when in acutallity they only serviced my back yard once. By this time, I become very frustrated with the company, because not only where they lying, they also continued to charge me, and call me over and over again asking me to upgrade even though I told them over and over and over again, "No Thank you." I canceled my service with them in June, and low and behold July and August comes around, and they serviced and charged me once again for incomplete work. Not only that, they called me again and tried to up sell me. By this time, I've gotten to the point of telling them not to ever call my phone again or come to my house, or I will have to take action. It was very diffiicult for me to receive my refunds from them as well. They stated that didn't have it noted that I canceled my program with them. Which lets me know that the corporate office does not communicate with the local branch. I finally received my last refund a couple of days ago. And you know what, finally no more calls from them. So I believe they finally got the message. I will never use Trugreen in my life again, not only because of the lies, but because of the harassment of trying to up sell me over and over again, even after I repeatedly told them "No Thank you".

They don't always do the whole yard, but they leave documentation stating they did. On 2 separate occasions I have received phone calls from my tenants stating they were home when they showed up and that they never went in the back yard to spread the treatments. The tag they placed on the door both times stated they treated the whole yard. I attribute this to lazy technicians, not the company, as I've seen good results...WHEN THEY ACTUALLY DO THE WORK. They products are good and do what they promise, just know that you need to personally ensure you are getting what you pay for.

Company returned money after complaints from al and BBB.

They did very well. I stopped using them because I started taking care of the yard myself. There were some instances where they put chemicals on the lawn to kill the weeds and bugs. He sprayed too far on my flower area and it killed that whole area. He wasn't watching what he was doing and killed a whole semi-circle area. The price was okay.

I had used TruGreen for several years with varying results. After my service agreement ended in the late spring of 2012, I informed the company that I no longer wished to use their services because my lawn seemed to be getting worse and some of the technicians did not seem interested in communicating information about the treatment or the followup watering, etc . A salesman from TruGreen came to my house and listened to my complaints. He then offered me a program for around $43.00 per treatment that would last from August 2012 to August 2013. I decided to give TruGreen another chance and paid for the year in advance. After my April 2013 treatment, I was billed for part of that treatment. When I inquired about this, the billing department said that my agreement had been for only six treatments and that my initial payment had failed to cover all six. They argued that there is no way I could have gotten a year's worth of treatments for the price I paid. I paid the amount on the statement and then informed them that I would not be renewing. There seems to be quite a disconnect between the sales force and the billing office. This is an unacceptable business practice and I will not use them again for this reason.

Their price is okay. I'm thinking of changing but we'll continue to use them until I find someone else.

They are very good. They are also very prompt and they will notify me when their coming.

They do fertilization and treatment of the lawn. They do not mow or anything. I have been satisfied with them. The only thing I don’t like is that you never know when they are going to show up. They just kind of show up when they want to. We don’t have a schedule or set time so there is no later or early because there is no set time. I will use them in the future.

They have a great service, our lawn is much better then it used to be. They kept us informed of whatever they were seeing and what they needed to do.

We paid them for a year of exam and they came around. My husband fell ill and I decided that I didn't want to spend $500 to have them spray chemicals on my lawn. When that was over with I didn't renew the contract. The man came along and said he was here to spray the lawn and said it was of my contract though I said that we weren't in one. I got a bill for $27 and they wouldn't stop calling me. They called me when I was in the hospital with my husband and they called me on my house phone. They annoyed me so much that I had to put a no ring thing on my cell phone so that when they call the ring doesn't come through. I have a caller blocking on my home phone now that blocks them and I was constantly annoyed. I begged them to take me off the list but the woman told me that she was not sure if she could do that. They were really annoying. They were terrible and that is simply because once you go with them you cant shake them off. They knew my husband was ill because they would constantly ask about my husband. I would rate them low for the way they badgered me. Their price was pretty high. The quality of work that they did on the lawn was good because the lawn looked really good. They were not responsive as I called and asked to stop annoying me and they didn't. Their visits were pre-scheduled and they knew they had to come certain times of the year.

Everything has turned out quite well. Our yard looks beatiful now.

We like a whole lot about them. I like that they come whenever they are supposed to. The lady that comes out is the only one I have ever met. She is always really nice and professional. I can talk to her. I am a city boy, and I don?t know about lawn. She explains to me the stuff that she is putting on the lawn or the stuff about the lawn in terms that I can understand. It never seems like she is trying to sell me more products just to make money. It really seems like she is trying to provide a service that she thinks I need.

The work they do is very acceptable and our yard is visibly better. We usually know when they are coming, because they will place plastic markers in our lawn the day before they come. We are rarely home when they do their job, but they will leave a note on our door letting us know that the lawn has been treated. They have also proven to be very responsive if we need them to come back to do a treatment on the lawn or flower bed. We are happy with their service and will continue to use them.

They are punctual and professional. I would use them again.

The crew always comes out when they tell me that they will and they are prompt. They seem like a good value for the money and they always do what they say they will. The service that they have done seems to be working. We have never had a personal experience with them. We call them and set up the appointment, they come out and do the service and leave us a note in the door when they are finished. We have had a fine experience with them.
