John came the day I called to give me an estimate. He was personable and gave me a reasonable estimate. He didn't require a deposit up front. I was disappointed that John did not supervise the actual work, however. He said Ross would be doing the work, but Ross wasn't even the one that did the actual work, and he checked on the progress sporadically. A third, young man did the actual work. He didn't speak English well so communication was like playing a game of telephone with John, Ross, and this young man. Because of this the moisture barrier we requested was not installed. However, when we contacted John about this problem, he took full responsibility. He reduced the bill for the job, and gave us a warranty in writing against future issues related to the lack of moisture barrier. Overall, the floors look good. John also told us to hold back a portion of our payment until we have had time to fully inspect the work and we are satisfied with the quality. He handled the situation very conscientiously. We would use him again, but supervise the work ourselves more closely.
