They did an excellent job rebuilding it without having to take the entire structure down. They were prompt, friendly and did the job in one day. It was a difficult task and they did great. I was impressed how they cleaned up all the mess. I would definitely use them again.

Fantastic! My fence looks amazing and was installed in record time despite the crew having to "drill" through rock in many places to sink the posts to the correct depths to support my fence. But the guys (Kendel, Mike, and Josh, supervised by Jim) never took the shortcut in making my fence and it shows. Kendel is an amazing stone mason and my flagstone is awesome. I've received so many complements on my yard since the work was completed. It's a pleasure to recommend James and his company "Down to Earth Landscaping" . We are already planning Phase 2 for in the spring. Can't wait to start!

My new dry creek bed is picture perfect. Really, really well done. I received a bid at the initial meeting. Jim and crew showed up on time every day for the three days he said it would take and they finished by noon on the third day. They moved a lot of sod and rocks in a short amount of time. Jim selected the trees in the variety I wanted and found really nicely shaped trees. It looks picture perfect. Jim has an eye for yard design and the ability to bring it to life.

They did a wonderful job. Our yard is beautiful. They came on time and cleaned up everyday .

He and his crew started the work on 9 Oct 17 and completed it today (he had 2 days down time; 1 day due to weather and 1 day due to a building materials issue - which was our fault) Hauling off all those ties was not easy work and then his professionally skilled crew's construction of the wall was perfect. His crew was always on time and always respectful, polite and cheerful. I will definitely hire him again to do other things for us. His trust, his honesty, his dependability and his caliber of work is beyond compare.

This is the second time I've used Down To Earth Landscaping on two different homes. Jim and his crew are outstanding. His crew was extremely hard working and they were professional and very respectful and courteous. The work they did was meticulous and they don't cut corners. They always asked me what I thought during the project, and if I wanted to tweak something, they immediately took action to change what I wanted without any hesitation or attitude. You don't find this much anymore with other companies. It is refreshing. They always cleaned-up the work area at the end of the day. They will be back to work on a different area of my yard after I have some other work done. I highly recommend Down To Earth Landscaping, and frankly, it's the only landscaping company I would consider. The crew is the best you will find.

Jim Hall (owner) and his crew did an EXCELLENT job in the construction of new fencing and gates, laying down a granite rock parking pad, plus hardscaping a large area of the yard where I wanted the grass replaced with river rock. And all in record time at a very competitive price. The daily clean up was even more amazing and you would never know they were even here each day. Jim ran into some challenges along the way but never got flustered and delivered a top notch professional job upon completion. I couldn't be happier with Jim and his company.

After having such a great experience the first time, we decided to beautify our yard some. Again, Down To Earth delivered! I have nothing bad to say about the company, their practices, the people, and even the price! Amazing folks!

We contacted Down to Earth first and foremost because of their outstanding Angie's List reviews and we feel that supporting your local small business is really important. Jim was able to come out for a quick assessment after the weekend. We discussed the tree trimming and obvious fence problems. We scheduled the repair for a few days later. Once the repair began and Jim's team removed a few of the posts and got an up-close-and-personal look of the fence, they let us know that over the course of the next year or so, the entire fence would have to be redone. At that point, we changed course direction: we asked them if they could just do the fence entirely new now - we got an estimate on the spot and Jim's team began to remove the complete fence. The job took almost three days - let me tell you: we now have a fence! Clearly, the fence is brand new so no damage, rot, or the like, but even more so, the fence is sturdy, it's straight, and the craftsmanship with which it was built can be seen and felt! During the course of the three days, we got to know the workers a little bit better also and not only are they excellent at their jobs, they also take pride in doing an above and beyond job for the customer as well as for themselves. They showed us pictures of other projects they did, whether building patios out of flagstones or building outdoor concrete furniture, fountains, retaining walls, etc. all their work is top of the line. After seeing those, we actually decided to look further into backyard beautification:) We have a meeting with Jim next week to go over ideas on what we can do. We are thinking a retaining wall to even out a portion of the backyard, flagstone patio with fire pit and cement benches; some colorful trees with chop block edging; and I bet we will find many more ideas for our backyard now that we are back home!!! Jim was extremely professional and courteous. He completely redesigned my front yard landscaping. His designs were beautiful and I am very happy with the end result. He was always on time, kept me aware of the status and went above and beyond to make sure I was pleased with the end result. I would recommend or hire him again with 100% confidence.

This is the second time we've used Jim. The project went great. Jim's team was on time. They did great work - quality and value. They delivered what they promised for the amount quoted. They cleaned up before they left. We plan on having them back for a third project later this year or next spring.

Everything went extremely well, with the crew always on time, pleasant, and professional. Their work was excellent. They trimmed trees professionally, treating the cut scars appropriately. They repaired our fence and installed footings that will prevent the fence from being damaged in the future. And they cleaned up a previous landscape project whose designer didn't provide sufficient underlayment or anchoring for. The whole project was top notch.

Business is so good for this company, they don't need to return calls. Left two messages for James and never had a call back.

We elected not to contract this company. He did not provide a written estimate. Instead the individual quoted us a price of 12,000. This is at least 4,000-5,000 more than others. Can you say price gauging?!

Jim showed up at the appointed time. He looked at the area and we discussed what we would like. Jim said that he would return three days later and give us a plan and what he would charge to do the improvements we discussed. Jim returned as scheduled and gave us a hand drawing of what the improvements would be made along with the costs and type of materials and trees. My wife and I discussed it and thought that based on the plan and recommendations from Angie's List, it would be worthwhile. We agreed on the price and gave Jim the go ahead. His crew and he showed up at the appointed time and began the work. The crew was very polite and work conscious. They dug out the garden the first day. Then they laid out the Texas stone we ordered and started the light concrete work to cement the stone into a tri level pattern. Next they put down a membrane to protect the soil and used the grading to move any water away from the foundation. This was followed with river rock that was laid on top of the membrane and holes were strategically placed for new plants which the put in the garden. The next day, they returned promptly at 8:30 AM and continued finishing the tri-level stone pattern. Meanwhile, they improved the drainage on the other side of the house by adding top soil and sod up to the level of the foundation. The removed and replaced the water sprinkler heads and tested them to insure they worked. Lastly, Jim returned with two Monterey Oak trees ( 90 and 105 gallon sized) to be used where the previous trees were located. Before planting them, the crew laid out a perfect circular pattern, dug the necessary holes, put the trees in the holes, and then put in Texas stone around the tree base, cemented it, and added mulch to the base of each tree. The finished project looked great and Jim trimmed the trees and gave us instructions on how to water the trees to make sure they thrived. He then checked to insure that everything was done to our satisfaction after which we paid him and thanked the crew for their hard work.

Jim and his team did a really great job. I appreciate Jim's attentiveness to what I was looking at doing while helping me figure out areas I wasn't so sure of. He did everything he said he would and the workmanship of the overall project was impressive. I'm very happy with the outcome and would highly recommend him and his team to others. I would definitely hire him again for future projects.

Everything I asked him to do was done and done well and on time. This is an excellent company and the service is great. I will hire them to landscape the property, build garden beds and plant trees. Jim and his guys are the BEST!!!!

Owner James Hall immediately responded to our request for an estimate for the work we needed to have done. He also gave us a TimeLine that met with our schedule for doing the work. He and his crew showed up when they said they would and worked hard until the job was finished. They were unable to come on the day that they wanted to sod because of rain, but next day were able to do the work. Our yard is large, and they did the job in four days. Clean-up was thoroughly done, and debris was hauled away. They did excellent work and our yard looks great. We are very pleased with their work and would highly recommend them and use them again. Jim was very attentive to our questions and concerns, did problem solving with us, and was not hesitant to do changes we requested.

It went awesome. We have had many compliments from our neighbors. Jim communicated in a timely manner. His team showed up when they said they would. I was able to communicate with all his staff and they were very kind. All the work was done well. It was a two day project and cleaned up everything both days. I couldn't be more happy with the work. I plan on using Jim in the future to install our back fence and other work once we can come to an agreement on what my husband and I want!
