Jim and his crew did an excellent job. I've been waiting a while to tackle this project and 'Down to Earth Landscaping & Lawn Care' did a excellent job. This project was done right as Jim went over the install process & gave some recommendations. The price, quality of work, & the time to complete were all great. I'll be using Down To Earth Landscaping again in the future. Great to work with!

Jim came out promptly and we discussed what we wanted, he was helpful with suggestions. Our next meeting he showed us his plan, we agreed on the design and price. The next week he showed up with his crew and they got to work right away. We found them to be professional and courteous. His crew was careful about cleaning up at the end of each day. Jim was always good about communicating any problems or issues that came up. We are very pleased with the results.

Owner came right away to give me the estimate and performed the work the next morning. Everything was completed and the work done was excellent.

MY PROPERTY WAS CLEANED UP EVERYDAY AFTER THE DAYS WORK WAS DONE. EVERYON INVOLVED IN MY EXTENSIVE PROJECT WAS POLITE AND VERY RESPECTFUL. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE.

I had no idea how to fix it all. I explained the problem to Jim over the phone. He came to the house, looked it over and made his recommendations. I went with his recommendations, and problems fixed. It looks great! My wife was out of state, so I was concerned about how she would like the final job. Posted photos on social media, and she loves it. Jim had a great crew - friendly, courteous, hard working. And, they cleaned up the site before they left. Overall, Jim delivered what he promised, when he promised.

Jim was very responsive. Arrived as scheduled for estimate as well as work. Returned every phone call promptly. Worked with our schedule which was difficult do to weddings, funerals, and travel plans. Cedar fence required being level on top which meant almost every picket had to be cut on the bottom to follow the terrain. Unknown to us, the previous owners had buried two layers of brick and metal flashing under the old chain link fence. Almost every hole had to be cleared by hand. Took 2 long days just to bury the 18 metal posts. Fence was 3 rail, premium red cedar with metal posts and 6' to 7' tall, which required mostly 8' pickets having to be cut down. Price did not include 10' metal posts and brackets I provided. In spite of taking 4 days instead of 3, and having to cut more pickets than originally thought, he only charged $300 over the original estimate of $4200. I don't think he made any profit off this difficult project. I will definitely recommend him for his adaptability, promptness and quality of work. Jobsite was left clean and neat, employees were prompt and courteous. I will be getting estimates for replacing an incorrectly built retaining wall as well. Good folks, fair pricing. Can't go wrong.

Jim and the crew at Down to Earth built a beautiful and solid cedar privacy fence and a flagstone and gravel path in our alley. Our old fence was falling down. Jim quoted a price for either a treated pine or cedar fence. He said he would build the fence with three rails rather than two for durability. We also discussed options for a path in our alley. It was a muddy mess. He recommended limestone pavers on blackstar gravel (to match an existing path in our front yard). His start was delayed due to weather, but we quickly decided on another date. His crew of 4 got started on the agreed upon date and worked non-stop until the projects were complete four days later. The fence is simple but beautiful and very solid. The gates are square and have good latches on them. The path turned out beautifully as well. We are very satisfied and would definitely use them again.

Jim returned my call, and set up an appointment to ***** my yard. He was very punctual. He also showed me landscaping plans he had done and will be me a quote for my backyard.

Excellent Job... Started early... worked their buns off in August heat... trimmed and cut back better than I had hoped... really opened up the back yard.

They were very fast, they finished the entire thing in one day. They ripped out the old mulch, plants, and an unsightly bush. They put down a weed barrier for the front garden, side garden and 2 trees, covered it with new soil, mulch, new plants, and put up a beautiful stone border around everything. The owner is nice but can be hard to get a hold of sometimes, it took over 3 weeks to get a receipt! About a week or so after, we had a rather large split in the mortar but they came and fixed it immediately. It was fascinating to watch them do their own masonry as well. Overall itt was a pleasant and easy experience.

Extremely well. Jim and his crew arrived early and went to work immediately. Jim did the initial landscaping work so he knew what plants needed to be trimmed back and how much. When the crew finished we walked the area to make sure everything was done to my satisfaction. This is the 3rd year I've used Down to Earth Landscaping and I will use them again in the future.

Jim promptly returned my call after I send him a message via Angie's List. He came to discuss the project, measured my backyard and gave me an estimate. I enjoyed working with Jim on the designs of my backyard walkway and other landscaping needs. He was very accommodating, flexible and easy to reach through out the entire process. His crew showed up on the days promised and they worked hard everyday. It took them 4 days to finish the job. They installed flagstone walkway, mortared the stone blocks I had on property to create borders, added river rocks and cedar mulch, and laid sods to cover some bare spots in the backyard. My walkway and borders came out beautiful. Jim was there often to check on his crew as well.

James is professional, courteous and was the only contractor who returned my call that same day. He was in there with the guys building the retaining wall. James and his employees are hard working and take pride in the service they perform.They were meticulous in cleaning up. My husband and I are so pleased with the outcome of this job.

Called for an estimate. Jim Hall never called. When he was starting his business, I'm sure he was courteous and respectful and took EVERY call when he was hungry for customers to get his business off the ground. It would take 15 seconds to call to say he's too booked right now or whatever his reason is for not wanting the business. After all, he has more than that time to write a defensive response to all his F grades. Notice he has not responded to any A grades to thank them for a nice review and say he appreciates them as customers. I noticed that as I read all the reviews. I still called based on the good reviews, but he has spoken volumes. When someone shows you who they are, believe them!

Jim and his team were a blessing to us! We had difficulty getting a landscaper to come out just to clean up the backyard and get our house ready to sell. Jim was able to come the day I called him and give me a bid on the spot. He worked around the Easter weekend and was able to finish by 3/30/16, the day before it went on the market. His team was polite, hardworking and conscientious. It was a pleasure to have someone help us beautify our yard and truly care about the results!

We have 2 areas we wanted landscaped to include a tree we already had planted, along with some pre planted flowers. We told Jim what we wanted and professionally layed out the design for us and we discussed additional options. The work was upon completion was professionally done. I am a stickler on time, meaning when the contractor says he will be there, he is in fact there on time and sticks to the agreed upon schedule. Jim was always on time and work was performed to the letter on the agreed upon contract. I found him very easy to work with and he has a professional staff. I would most definitely work with him and recommend to others.

Jim and his crew worked very h****** doing an excellent job of preparing the ground to lay a new layer of sod. The grass they put down was in excellent condition and the manner in which they positioned it looks great - you can't really tell it was just put down. The crew was dependable, polite, on time and made sure that I was pleased with their work and the price was more than reasonable. I will definitely use them again!
