About us
For ALL your home improvement needs. Local family-owned business operating in the Tyler area for more than 30 years. Many years worth of reputable references available. High quality work, great attention to detail, and careful consideration of homeowner's property. All subcontractors are fully aware and adhere to the work ethic and quality expected. Use licensed subcontractors for plumbing and electrical services. May contact through email.
First off, the finished results are great. We had a very small galley style kitchen and the additional storage, work, and cooking space are tremendous. The project started a little rocky because the electrical work had to be done first, and the electrical subcontractors were held up on another job, causing our job to be started almost a week late. We DON'T blame that on Tony, but it held everything else up. While we were waiting on the electricians, he did get one of his painters in to begin on the existing cabinets. Once the electricians were finished, the cabinet builder came in, and did the new cabinets. At that point, my wife and I left on a previously scheduled vacation. Our college age daughter was still at the house and she was the one meeting with the subcontractors that were coming and going. While we were gone, the prep and painting of the new cabinets started, the granite countertop was installed, and the stove and advantium oven were put in place, and the exhaust hood was mounted. After we returned, the painting was finished, and the backsplash was installed. As far as my ratings, I'm giving him a B in punctuality, not because of him directly, but because of the subcontractors. Because of the late project start, everything else got pushed back and it got done about 2 weeks later than planned. Tony tried to keep on them, but it wasn't meant to be. As far as price, I also gave them a B. I knew going in based on the estimates that Tony wasn't the cheapest guy out there for the job. In fact, he was about in the middle of the estimates we got. i usually don't get the cheapest person to do the job, and if you read my other reviews, you will see many times that I don't give an A for price.
Description of Work: Repainted existing cabinets in kitchen, installed new cabinets and granite counter top, painted the new cabinets to match the old cabinets, installed new electrical outlets and a switch and mounted a vent hood, and installed a backsplash.

We hired Tony for 2 reasons. We are new to the Tyler area and didn't know 'people' as we did in our other city, and the one person we found and had previously hired to do other upgrades/updates for us didn't like doing that type of work. So, we scoured Angie's List to see who had a plentiful number of recent positive reviews, and Tony's company fit the bill. We contacted him, and it took several days for him to get here for an estimate. After that it was about 3 weeks before he could begin the work. That was a bit irritating, as we were anxious to have it done. He assured us he?d get to it, but that he was VERY BUSY. I figured better to get someone busy than someone who is anxious for work (?cuz why is that person anxious for work?!). We had leaks in 2 sinks, so we ended up paying another plumber to do part of our plumbing work before Tony was ready to start our projects. Otherwise, he did everything on our extensive list and his crew did a FANTASTIC job. There was one issue with the garage paint job, but he took care of it quickly and to our COMPLETE SATISFACTION. Tony seemed totally committed to making sure we, the customers, were completely satisfied. We added a few other piddly jobs to the list, and he did this without extra adding cost to the original firm estimate (the only estimate that was not firm was for the electrical work (Tony said it was impossible to give a firm electrical bid due to not knowing what underlying issues may crop up). We had the electrician work until we ran out of what we had budgeted to spend on the electrical work. The workers always cleaned up any messes they made (turn-key jobs). In fact, the painter power washed our garage floors after he painted ? and got up this awful thick stuff that was spilled on the floor by the previous owners. We had tried to get it up ourselves when we moved in but couldn?t. The workers were VERY CORDIAL and concerned that we have the jobs meet our specifications. One said to us, ?Tony wants every job done TO PERFECTION, so we do that.? In fact, I had asked for the mail-slot job to be repaired one way, and the handyman who worked on it recommended a better way ? and even bought the wood so he could do it that way. We bought all the handyman and electrical supplies ahead of time, so the price listed was mostly for labor only (painting and plumbing jobs were ?all inclusive? though). I honestly do not know if we got the ?best deal? cost-wise, as we did not shop around. One reviewer is right, his contract is a list that the purchaser gives to him ? so make sure your list is specific for exactly what you want. We?ve already scheduled him to come and do a few more things for us.
Description of Work: Handyman-type work:: Installed interior French doors, cut out cat hole in a cabinet (and framed it), removed and replaced the framing around our 'in-the-wall' mail slot (inside & outside), shortened gutters, re-taped/floated portion of the garage and painted it, cut bottoms off of interior doors to give home better airflow with doors closed, replaced wood floor transition piece between rooms, and installed window blinds on a wide window. Electrical work: replaced a few old outlets with grounded ones, created a new outlet in a room, replaced wiring on '3-way switches', and removed and replaced interior lighting and ceiling fans, Plumbing: Replaced metal pipe from street meter to house w/ PVC and installed a 'reducer' and on/off valve by the house. We had so much, I probably left off some items.

Ratliff Painting and Repair is a lifesaver. After hiring two other companies to replace the exterior siding on a house, I called Tony. He sent out a crew to complete the siding job that another company had botched. In addition to finishing the job that had been left unfinished by another company, they painted the exterior of the house. They did an awesome job! The house looked beautiful when they were finished with it. They (unlike previous contractors) left absolutely no mess behind. The job was completely professional and met my very high expectations, which can sometimes be difficult to do. The cost for the job was very reasonable. After seeing the amazing transformation of the house, I intend to have them back to handle the projects I have for the interior as well. Great job guys!!!

Tony and his crew were great. They followed through with all we talked about and when recent rains delayed the project Tony kept me abreast to let me know when they would be out to resume work. I can't say enough good things about his crew, they were very courteous and meticulous in their work. You could tell they took pride in doing a good job and they cared and wanted to make sure that we were satisfied with their work too, such great guys! Tony is very knowledgable in the area of painting and repair and offered good suggestions in the use of hardy board to repair some rotten wood areas of the house. He was always easy to get in touch with and always replied promptly. In short I'm thrilled with the job they did and will definitly use them again.

We had a few glitches starting out. This is a lake house. We scheduled a Saturday to meet with Tony at 1pm and drove out the night before to meet him. Tony and I even confirmed the appointment the day before. He even texted me around noon asking for directions. He didn't show and called to advise that he was tied up preparing for his daughter's birthday slumber party that night. He tried to reschedule for during the week or another weekend. We weren't available and we had made this clear when we scheduled the estimate. Our house really needed painting and we made the trip because we wanted to meet with Tony after all the good reviews we read on Angie's List. Tony called back advising that the foreman of his paint crew would come out and give me an estimate. About an hour later, Richard (I believe that was the foreman's name called me and told me was unavailble due to family commitments and tried to reschedule me for a weekday.. LONG STORY SHORT..., Tony came out about 4:30pm that afternoon just before dusk and sent us an estimate a day or two later. Apparently he doesn't do email, but his wife relays the info, so even though I had emailed him about wanting an estimate on the house and dock and showed him both the house and the dock, his estimate was only for the dock. So it took five more days for him to go back out there and give me an estimate for both. His prices are fair. I had received several quotes and Tony was about even with them, but I wasn't impressed with the other vendors and I was with the reviews of Tony's company on Angie's List. He even offered a small discount if I did both jobs together, but he never mentioned the 10% discount coupon from Angie and I had forgotten about it. When I mentioned it prior to signing contract, he stated that it was only valid if mentioned/presented before the quote is presented. Other than that, my biggest gripe at this stage was why make an appointment, if you knew you wouldn't be available. That started us out on the wrong foot, but... Once the contract was signed, Richard and his crew wasted no time in getting started. They actaully started before had sent them the deposit and I wasn't aware they had started until the following day when my neighbor notified me and then Tony and I chatted. It would have been nice, if Tony had kept us more in the loop. Tony's paint crew was fabulous and they worked dawn until dusk. I was very impressed with the job they did and the time they did it in. OVERALL: I feel that we got a great stain job on the dock and the house, there were a few little things that got overlooked by the painter (like replacing some split top rails) but that was probably due to conveyance between the contractor and the crew. SPEED: FAST!!! This cre was super and even though it rained for several days , they were out there as soon as the wood dried to get restarted. QUALITY: SUPERB!!! We were very impressed with the job done on the house and the dock, even with the few minor glitches bentioned above. If this company would work on their communication with the customer, they would have received an A in every caategory. .After the rain, the crew started back up, but had a circuit breaker problem and had to use neighbors electricty. I had left a key for the crew, but was never advised of the issue until much later.
Description of Work: One of the good things about Tony is that he is a contractor and get just about anything done for a home, which makes it nice when you are someone like myself that doesn't have the time to find vendors to do a good job. This is especially true in East Texas where we have had a hard time finding good workmanship. Tony's paint crew stained our house on Lake Palestine and our new boat dock for the first time

We bought a house in May 2013 that we wanted completely repainted inside before we moved in at the end of June 2013. Ceilings, walls, trim and cabinets inside and out. We wanted it to be fresh and new to us when we moved in. We also had a crack in our ceiling that needed to be repaired. We had a small window of time and needed the job to be completed by a certain date so we could move in. If the job was not completed by then we were just going to move in and they could finish up after we were moved. Tony was very personable and seemed to know his stuff and based on Angie's List reviews as well as some word of mouth we decided to go with Ratliff Painting and Repair. We still had to pick out colors but we knew we were going to want white cabinets and white ceiling. (The cabinets were already white but we wanted them freshened up with maybe a brighter white). Tony knew he had about 3 weeks to complete this job. He handed me a copy of a "contract" which was really just a list of what we wanted done. Paint the cabinets white. Paint the ceilings white. Paint walls color of choice. Etc. With a total price at the bottom. The prices were not broken down (paint, supplies, labor, etc.), just a total. But we felt confident that we had made the right choice. His painter was very nice and did a good job but was WAY overworked. He spent hours working early in the morning to late into the night. This type of job in that amount of time was way too much for one person. 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, 2800 sq. feet. (Actually the painter occasionally had a helper here but for the most part he did the repair and painting himself.) They were very careful to tape and protect our windows and carpets. My ceiling repair looks great and can't even tell where it was cracked. The paint job for the most part was good. They did a great job repairing where nails and other holes were. His painters get an A but Tony gets an C. He should have had more guys on this job and should have been better about communicating with us. He seemed VERY frazzled and disorganized. He uses the "sticky note" method and frankly it was overwhelming even to us!! He was obviously handling too many jobs at one time. Upon inspection of the painted cabinets, built-ins and trim we discovered they had not painted them the color of white we had chosen. He said the contract only covered the color of white they already were. WHAT??!!!! I paid to have my cabinets painted. It doesn't matter if I wanted them purple!!! Apparently we should have been more specific than "white". Okay we let that slide. The color was wrong but they looked fresh. I didn't read the fine print.... Wording matters. The ceilings looked white before we painted but upon closer inspection Tony discovered they were actually more of a beige. He took a sample out of the ceiling in my laundry room over the cabinets to show us the color difference. He said they would repair and repaint the ceiling there and we would never know he had taken a sample from there. Well they painted the ceiling the correct color of white but did not fix it properly the first time. They did not paint inside the cabinets except in places it was specifically pointed out where they didn't paint. In October we were finally able to schedule a time to do a punch list (which should have been done in June) so we could show Tony what needed to be done and fixed. We also had his guy paint our front door and do some caulking around our countertop. I would think when you know there is work to be done you SCHEDULE them and not work them into the schedule. Especially since you were already paid a majority of the money. We had him paint our garage but we had to wait until the storage shed was completed and boxes moved out of the garage. That part of the time table was totally out of his hands so we give him some leeway for that . We had paid him everything but about $1200 as he said he needed money up front to buy supplies and pay his guys before he finally came out and had his painter finish the job in October. At one point we were about ready to just write him off and never use him again and tell everyone we know not to use him. We hired him to do a job and it didn't get done in a timely manner or to our expectations. We are HIGHLY disappointed and expected more from someone with such high ratings on Angie's List. We are also disappointed because we were looking for a handyman type of service to use in the future but now we will keep looking. We are not difficult people to work for we just want someone to do their job when we pay them to do said job and in a timely manner. And even if things come up a phone call or text would be nice. We understand that things happen in life beyond our control sometimes. We even hesitated to leave a review with negative connotations but realized that Angie's List is about the good and the bad. Tony made sure that everything that we pointed out was fixed, except for the cabinets and trim but we didn't ask him to correct it because it was just way more than we wanted to deal with and we are going to live with the color because it's not horrible, but it's just not what we originally picked out. Get a contract and read the fine print. Wording matters!! Make sure you are specific!! And make sure you do a thorough walk through after the job is "completed" so that things can be corrected.

Phoned Tony on 8/27/13 to see if he would look at replacing some rotted wood under a back door. He said he was on vacation but he would get back with me when he returned. He contacted me again on 9/2/13 and said he should be able to get over and look at it that week. 42 days later he finally contacts me again and said he might be able to come over and look at it next week. Of course by this time I had already had it repaired by another company.

I did take a 4-day vacation with my family and took business calls during the entire trip. I was swamped with work and phone calls upon returning. I did tell the homeowner I would TRY to get over there that week. Unfortunately, I did not and his contact info got buried amongst other work. It was much longer than it should have been before I contacted him again. I apologize for the delay. It was simply an oversight. I am glad he was able to get the work done with someone else.

The entire job went so incredibly smooth that I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop but it NEVER did. Tony took care of every detail for us and did all the worrying for us. Tony's crew itself was incredible. They were so thorough in the preparation of each room paying special attention to move my large heavy furniture without damage and without scratching the floors, to cover everything so as not to cause any damage, dust, or paint to any part of our things, and then swept and cleaned up each and every night before they left. Our large master (20x22) was done in stages, but Tony's crew made sure that we were able to remain in our bedroom and taped everything off and cut us pathways. We never did have to stay in the guest room. Tony stayed in constant contact with us every step of the way. His crew was prompt every morning. They were polite, kind, and completely trustworthy. The entire ceiling throughout the house is wonderful. Tony's crew even took the time to clean and repaint the vents for us. Each time I tried to move anything in the house to prepare the next room for the next day, Tony's crew would come to my rescue. His crew didn't allow me to move so much as a candle! I had a light fixture in the main bathroom that I was not crazy about and hated the location. Tony and his crew relocated the new fixture I had purchased. Now its perfect! Because our back deck was completely destroyed, Tony got us a great carpenter to rebuild and expand our deck. We had other things that needed to be tended to as well, and this carpenter was able to take care of it all. His work was impeccable. We had very large pine trees in the back yard and to the side of the house. I had gotten quotes for tree removal the year before; however, most of them were very high. We had one tree in particular that was very large and split into three different trees as it grew up. Tony obtained a crew to remove several trees for us and at a very reasonable price. Trees were removed in a very professional manner and all debris was removed as well. There was absolutely no damage to our house, yard, or other grounds during the process. When the deck was rebuild, it need new power. Tony arranged to have an electrician come out and re-wire the entire deck, put in a new panel for the hot tub, hung ceiling fans, installed recessed lighting and outdoor lighting in the backyard. Tony's guy again, was the most reasonable in price and very professional. There was one night that the electrician was working a little late so as to finish up. I changed my mind on some things and some materials were needed. Tony stayed with the job until it was done and even drove back into Tyler to grab the extra materials and new fixtures. Talk about service! We have other work that I would like to have done around the house. Without a doubt, Tony will be who I will call. If he and his crew can't do the job(s), he will be able to arrange for competent, reliable, trustworthy, and reasonably priced subs that can.
Description of Work: We had a storm blow through in June 2012 and caused extensive roof and deck damage. Ratliff crew cut out damaged sheet rock and replaced with new, removed and replaced damaged insulation, scraped, re-textured, and painted ceilings throughout the house. Relocated a light fixture in main bathroom. Tony obtained other contractors for us such as (1) carpenter to rebuild and expand the back deck, repair attic area and beams, repair soffits and facials, (2) tree cutter to take out several trees, (3) electrician to provide all the wiring of recessed lighting on the deck, outside lights, extra power for hot tub, install ceiling fans, and extra outlets on the deck itself.

This review is a complete fabrication. It is unbelievable that members can post false claims and then the burden is on the business homeowner to prove or disprove these claims. This member is actually my competition - she is a contractor herself. She called me to give an estimate on granite countertops for one of her jobs. My granite guy and I met her on the job, gave her and the homeowner an estimate, which they rejected. They stated they had gotten a cheaper price with someone else. My granite guy said he could not do it any cheaper. They went with someone else. I had a simple, 30-minute interaction with this contractor. No work was EVER scheduled! They did not accept the estimate so there was no work to be done. I was never scheduled to show up and install anything. No work order was ever in place. I have spoken with my granite guy recently to confirm these facts, and he states the same thing. He remembers the conversation clearly. They rejected our bid, went with someone else, and we left. It was that simple. This was over a year ago. I do not understand why someone I had such brief contact with that long ago would want to post a false review, but she has. Please note: This was NOT her home, simply one of her jobs...it should be against Angie's List policy for competition to post reviews on each other. She is posing as the homeowner in this review, which is deceptive.

The paint job and repairs were excellent quality. There were no problems with the workmanship. Tony had 2 men who worked for him at first and then one man finished the job alone. Always get a contract!!! Set a completion date!!! Know the price BEFORE the work is done. Lessons learned.
Description of Work: We actually hired Tony back in November of last year and had him walk through a house in Henderson that we were in the process of buying to remodel. Never at any time did he indicate he couldn't handle the job. We hired him due to his score here on Angie's list. We closed on the house dec28th. We gave tony the go ahead to start. Nothing really got going till march. He just kept asking us to be patient. The first bids he turned in he backed off of stating he didn't think the sub contractor could handle the job and wanting to hire others. We waited.... Never again were any bids submitted. Nothing was ever written. He promised and promised to give us invoices and receipts and never did. As he had people do things he would ask us to pay after the job was done, not asking us to approve the amount ahead of time. Sometimes he would ask us to pay the sub contractor direct and other times through him. Still promising to give invoices and receipts. Several times during the renovation ,weeks went by with no progress. We would say something and his answer would always be " just be patient, it will be worth it." At one point I realized he was never checking on the job when a worker had been drinking beer on the job and left the bottle at the top of my stairs in full view until it molded. I called and asked had he seen it and his reply was " no". It had been there for weeks. He had the painter paint way before time and the rest of the renovation effected the already painted areas to the point they need to be painted again . After awhile we realized Tony wasn't really doing anything and what he did do was not in the right order ,so we let him go. At that time he asked us to pay him for at least the services he did do for us. Other than introducing us to the sub contractors we didn't see him do anything. The Carpenter was taking care of all of Tony's responcibilities the entire time. He also stating to us he hadn't collected the typical 20 percent that a general contractor collects , but after meetings with all subcontractors we have found out that's not true. Tony was well paid. But we have to take the hit, we let him continue knowing he wasn't submitting to us what he should had been, invoices ect. We kept giving him another chance to do something... Anything, over and over. Shame on us for letting him string us out. We were CASH paying customers that got taken advantage of. My advise to anyone, get a loan and go through the bank so there has to be a contract written. He's going to comment that I'm a difficult client. He's going to say I kept adding to the job. He's going to say we still owe him money. We asked him to submitt all invoices and bids so we could review and see if anything was still owed. His answer was he didnt keep up with any of it . What business owner doesnt keep up with the invoices? Was I difficult? No. Did I keep adding to the job? Sure. I wanted my dream home. I was also a PAYING client. That's makes me what? THE BOSS.

Let it be known plainly up front that I did not take advantage of anyone in taking on this job. Several months ago, I partnered up with the carpenter that was mentioned in this review. He is a skilled carpenter, but lacks the customer base, people skills and outreach that I have attained through many, many years of owning my own business and through my advertising on Angie's List. It was, at the time, a win-win for both of us. He got steady work using my name and by his own admittance, was reaping the benefits of this partnership. I took on jobs as the general contractor, which means at the end of the day I answer to the homeowners and it's my business name and reputation at stake - not his. This job was the biggest job I had ever taken on. It was actually two separate home remodels - the one referred to as the dream home above as well as a second home we called the farmhouse. He and I agreed ahead of time that he would be in charge of a large part of the job. He was paid directly by the homeowner for those things. I, in turn, was in charge of other parts of the job including painting, plumbing & electrical. I was paid a little over $50,000 for the totality of my involvement on this job. Not $100,000 as stated above. I also have cancelled checks and receipts where I paid out roughly $40,000 to subcontractors and for the purchase of materials/supplies. I informed the homeowners that I was not charging them a separate contractor's fee, which is typically 20% and is typically paid directly from homeowner to contractor - independent of what the subs get paid or the work they complete. I do not charge that fee to anyone that I work for. As I do with all my jobs, I told the homeowners that I make my money off of the subs. It is portrayed in this review as if that is wrong or deceptive, but that's not the case at all. Any contractor knows that's very commonplace. It's actually a more protective measure for homeowners. I pay myself out of the draws taken as work is finished. I don't get my cut off the job until I pay the subs...and the subs don't get paid until the work is complete. I did get in over my head with this job. It was too far away considering the fact that I was also managing other jobs simultaneously in the Tyler area. I found myself struggling to stay afloat and many things were slipping through the cracks. (The double-edged sword of being so busy). I had already completed the farmhouse remodel and was also working on the main house at the same time. There were no issues or complications at the farmhouse. They seemed happy with the work completed there. I was not paid for work that was not completed. And there was a great deal of good, quality work completed that they were very happy with. At least that's what they expressed at the time. I was realizing how overwhelmed I was with the remainder of the main house remodel and other unrelated jobs, so I told the homeowners that I was trying to stay in it, but was afraid I wouldn't be able to keep it up. When I expressed my concerns about following through with the job, they said not to worry about it and they would take over from that point. They asked if they could continue using my subs. I said yes. Something many contractors would not do. They began paying the remaining subs directly themselves. They reassured me they would not say anything negative about me and I was under the impression that we were parting ways amicably. I have now learned that they went to the subs to question them about me and it seems some of them have thrown me under the bus so to speak. With no contractor paying them and no one to answer to, they saw the opportunity to get in good with the homeowner and be self-serving. I will never hire those subs again. I had been trying to be a "yes man" and give this job my all, but I failed at that. The carpenter was also dropping the ball on a lot of things. The homeowners came to me with those complaints. I went to the carpenter (who has poor communication skills and doesn’t respond to voicemails or text messages promptly or even at all), then relayed that back to the homeowner. I was playing the middle man and eventually took the fall for everything that did not get done in a timely manner - including the parts of the job the carpenter was supposed to be handling. He has wreaked havoc on a couple other of my jobs since then, dragging work out for weeks, not responding to me or to homeowners’ calls, texts, etc. He was recently escorted off another job and at that homeowners’ request, is banned from ever being on their property again. I have had to go back and repair my reputation and restore relationships with homeowners that he has ruined along the way. Unfortunately, he has managed to get to the homeowners who wrote the above review. I certainly did not do everything correctly and would do things differently given the chance, but all I can do now is apologize for the way things turned out. I did apologize multiple times to the homeowner through text messages, but I got no response. I truly am sorry for failing the homeowners on this job. As far as invoices, contracts, etc. goes, there were things I did provide estimates and invoices for. With so many people involved in the job, it seemed impossible for me to stay on top of every receipt, payment made, etc. I should have been better at handling all of that. Again, it was an extensive job, and I was not prepared for how to handle it. I do not operate out of an "office" nor do I have a secretary. I handle all aspects of my business myself. That is something I am currently re-evaluating so that I can better serve my homeowners.

Based upon the reviews (even though there were some negative comments, the positive comments outweighed the negative) I scheduled an appointment on May 29th and Tony showed as promised. We discussed the different projects that I wanted an estimate for. He indicated he would be back with me in a few days. The same day I sent him an e-mail asking for the name of a house leveler that he recommended. Today is July 24th and I have yet to hear from Tony regarding our previous visit. I can only assume he had no interest and he had other projects he preferred.
Description of Work: Did not provide any service - he did not submit a proposal as he indicated he would do and he never provided a quote for the service we discussed.

I have reached out to Mr. [member name removed] since receiving this review and have apologized for letting this slip through the cracks. Since being on Angie's List, my business has increased drastically, and I am currently making changes to handle the extra workload. This includes hiring someone to take calls, check & respond to emails and be there to make sure all customers are managed appropriately. I have also been interviewing and hiring more laborers for the last couple of months. I have, to this point, been handling every aspect of the business myself and have become overloaded. It is completely my fault for not getting back to Mr. [member name removed]. I am working to improve that.

He is a general contractor and was not prompt at all. He did call me and seemed very nice, but he never did quite followed-through on anything. I was just waiting and waiting and waiting until he came. I am not normally a very patient person; I am trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, but, he just never would follow-through. Of course, he blamed it on everybody else. He is a personable person, but I would not ever call him again.
Description of Work: I got a quote from Ratliff Painting & Repair for a seaside fence and a gate.
My experience with Tony was very positive overall. He is very professional and provided a written contract of work to be performed. He responded to all my calls and messages in a timely manner. He's a super nice guy and is genuinely concerned about doing an excellent job. The price may have been a bit on the high side - not sure since I didn't get other estimates, but it was definitely worth it to have everything coordinated and completed in a two-week period. Workers were thorough and cleanup was great. Because of my feelings of trust in Tony, I had no problem with leaving a key for workers to come and go. I highly recommend his services.
Description of Work: Drywall was repaired in three bedroom ceilings, fans removed and replaced, a new fan installed. All walls primed and painted in 4 bedrooms and a long hallway, ceramic tile redone in shower of 1 bath and repaired over tub in another bath.

I wouldn't use them again or make a recommendation. If you do get everything in writing and be prepared to follow-up after them and make sure they do what they say they will.
Description of Work: I had Tony out to do an estimate to repair some drywall and repaint the room and ceiling. His price was average in comparison to the other estimates I had received. Based off of his high rating on Angie's list I agreed to the price and expected a great experience. Starting on the first day they were late and didn't provide much communication about when and how long they expected to be at the house working. The second day the worker Tony sent to the house left after only being there a couple of hours and not completing all of the agreed upon drywall work. This is where the wheels really came off. I had to get Tony back out the next morning to look at what work was being done. In the beginning I asked him to fix the drywall and taping to correct the issues in the room. He stated that he had not included this work into his estimate and that he didn't think he should be obligated to fix it. I should have got him to give me a written estimate to hold him to the original agreement. Why in the world would I repair one corner in the room and not them all and have the messed up taping painted over. He agreed then to fix it but not in the most desirable way. If you choose him to do work, GET A WRITTEN ESTIMATE and hold him to it. In addition to this we agreed to have his workers move the furniture in the room and it was to be included in the price. When it came time to move the furniture the single worker he sent to do the work couldn't move the furniture and we ended up having to help him. When I confronted Tony he started pushing the blame onto his worker and not accepting that it is his company and his mistake. As for the work I can't complain his worker did a good job.

As is obvious from my many other reports, my reputation and my dedication to customer satisfaction is of great importance to me. Unfortunately, there are times when I can't make everyone happy. There are always 2 sides to a situation and this was a very difficult customer to work for. I will post a more detailed response later, when I am not working, so that I can further explain my side of this. Rest assured, I do provide my customers with written estimates & invoices. I provide quality work and have many reviews here to support that.
