Ratliff Painting & Repair

I was on the search for a general contractor to make some updates to our home. I called around and most were too busy to come out and give an estimate or were way out of my budget. Luckily, I happened across contact information for Tony Ratliff and he was able to start on our project within two weeks. Not only did Tony stay within the initial budget that was quoted, he also finished the job on time! Tony was honest, did not overcharge, and suggested many different budget conscious options on the remodel. Tony and his team were professional and seemed to really care about providing quality services. Tony was very patient and walked me through the entire process. Tony updated lighting fixtures in the kitchen, painted cabinets and countertops. Bathroom walls were painted and ceilings retextured and painted. Bathtubs look brand new with the resurfacing/painting job that was done. I will definitely reach out to Tony in the future for any updating to my home because of his outstanding communication and quality of work. He is very responsive and does not give his customers the run around. I have already recommended him to several friends.

Mr. Ratliff did an awesome job putting in an exterior door at my home. It turned out exactly how I wanted it from the installation down to the outside trim work. I called him up on a Friday about what I wanted and by the next Wednesday he had it done. I definitely will be using him since I have several projects. Plus he was very reasonable in what he charged. I highly recommend Mr. Ratliff.

My husband and I were on our anniversary trip in Montana when we heard from our nephew and kids that the AC wasn't working right. After trouble shooting over the phone with them, I knew they were going to need to call in an AC guy to fix the issue. My nephew is inexperienced with house repairs so I hated to call just anyone. I contacted Tony on a Friday morning. He was able to get an AC guy out that afternoon. He worked with him to finish the repairs by Tuesday with a temporary work-in-progress fix that allowed them to get by through the weekend. It was so nice knowing that Tony was taking care of our family's AC issues while we were gone and that I didn't have to worry about any "extras" being done that would take advantage of my nephew's inexperience and rack up our bill. We are more than pleased with the results and thankful that we had someone we could trust come through in this challenging situation. Thanks again, Tony, for your help! We will definitely be calling him again for our next repair.

Tony and his team helped me out in a short time frame, when no one else could. His team was professional, work quality was great, and price was fair. Would recommend them to others and will be using them again myself in the future.

Not only did Jeremiah do an excellent job on the drywall, but he also replaced the flexible tubing that was damaged from rodents as well. He painted it as well and we were very pleased with his work. He did it all in one visit. We would hire them again in a minute and we would highly recommend them.

It was an excellent experience. I would give them a highest rating due to to the pandemic it was hard to find materials. However, I was updated every step of the way. I was informed as to the progress of the order. Mr. Ratcliff, Never gave up on following through with the job. When the materials were received, the repair was explained in details to me. Mr. Ratcliff was very professional, very helpful, honest, and very responsive . What I really appreciated was that he communicated with me and discuss updates as they occurred. I felt I was really respected and involved in the entire job.

WOW! Our chimney had been leaking due to some rusted flashing and the mortar needed repair and replacement. Tony had one of his guys come by, we got an estimate, and the work was done in no time, and the price was much lower than I would have anticipated. Thank you! I'm glad we called Tony! We had some gremlins causing trouble in the electrical system at our house, so my wife called Tony. After she described the issue, Tony sent over a crew who checked out our electrical system from end to end. The problem was promptly found and fixed. Both my wife and I feel safer knowing how thorough the crew was in checking everything out. We will definitely call Tony again.

Last summer as Texas was heating up, we realized that one of our air conditioner units was not cooling. NOT cool. We called Tony, and he sent a guy right over to check it out. Unfortunately, we needed a new unit. Fortunately, we called Tony. The job was completed quickly and very reasonably priced. We will call Tony again!

They delivered my fan instead of me having to drive and pick it up! They were on time and installed my fan without any problems. Things were done in a timely, professional and courteous manner! I would use them again and highly recommend!!

Tony is very responsive and proactive with our six rental houses. He observed that none of our houses had easy access for tenants to shut off main water in case of leak. I appreciate Tony’s great work as well in always getting our houses move-in ready for new tenants.

My house is old and lacks outlets so I hired Tony for a few simple outlet installations so I could plug in more stuff. I also asked for a general breaker panel inspection because as mentioned this house is old and has been added on to over the years, so by the time I got it, there were four breaker panels. The inspection revealed that some of the circuits were getting dangerously, insanely hot, and that this is the kind of thing that causes deadly house fires, especially in older homes like mine. Horrified, yet relieved at the revelation, I immediately authorized a complete fix. It was an unexpected expense but I’m not understating it when I say it was also a lifesaver. I would urge all homeowners who aren’t sure what’s in their walls to hire the appropriate professionals to find out. A general home inspector will not necessarily be this thorough. Thanks again to Tony and his crew for fast, professional service!

I arrived after weeks away to find the water line to the fridge spraying water from a leak. I contacted Tony and within 90 minutes help arrived. Jeremiah was professional, thorough, and competent. I chose to have this particular line disconnected and capped. Jeremiah also investigated low flow to one of the shower heads and while doing so noted that some of the crawl space insulation needed replacing. Tony’s responses are always fast and dependable. This was an overall fantastic experience. Our trouble started with water damage in October 2020. We could not find the source of the damage and spent literally 3 months hiring plumbers, roofers, leak locators etc. to find the source but no one could. Even the insurance adjuster was stumped. Eventually I found a contractor recommended by a friend who said he could make the repairs but after a few weeks he stopped returning my calls. I called Tony Ratliff based solely on the recommendations I found online (Thank you Angie's List!!). That was my lucky day. He came over, looked at the damage, figured out the cause (from pressure washing outside the house) and said "We can take care of this" and then he did. I worked with Tony for about two weeks to get all the repairs done and he earned my respect and trust. I completely trust not just him but anyone he has working for him. He only works with the best. All of his employees/sub contractors were professional, polite, and left the workspace super clean each day. They all worked to help my family of four live our lives as normal as possible during a big project. I was kept informed and updated and asked for approval at each step. For some of the repairs Tony offered several options and explained the pros and cons of each one. Tony also saved money without sacrificing quality. His flooring guy matched my hand scraped hardwood floor exactly, without the need for refinishing the undamaged part of the floor. Tony also explained how he could repair the damage to my fireplace surround and the built-in without tearing them out completely and replacing them. This saved us time and money and was less wasteful. When certain needed items turned out to no longer be manufactured Tony found replacements or in one case had his carpenter make a piece for the fireplace. Now that everything has been repainted it looks exactly like it did before the damage. (The attached photo shows my fireplace after the repair -- all the hand scraped wood flooring visible is new, the columns on the fireplace were repaired, all visible trim was repaired or replaced and the sheetrock to the right was replaced.) I estimate Tony saved my family at least $8000-$10,000 on repairing these two rooms. I am so thankful that my original contractor ghosted me and I found Tony Ratliff.

Everything was amazing. They were super responsive and very sweet. They kept me in the loop the whole time and the work was done in wonderful timing.

Thanks Tony for another amazing job. I had three ceiling fans installed with new wall switches for all of them and I couldn't be happier with how they turned out. Tony was especially helpful and patient during COVID times by choosing carpet for me when I couldn’t get to the store. New carpet is professionally installed and looks & feels terrific. Lastly, I needed a new dishwasher because the old one was leaky and failing but perhaps because of the pandemic all the stores were sold out of dishwashers and weren’t expecting new stock for months. But Tony managed to find me an excellent one and have it installed, saving the day again! I’ll continue to call on Ratliff Painting &Repair for all my home projects.
