+ -1 moreAll contact was handled professionally and courteously. They arrived on time for phase one - removal of cardboard. This was estimated to take approximately half a day and only took a little over an hour for the two men working. Honestly, I wasn't sure if I was relieved or had been charged too much for the removal. Then, the truck and workers came to blow in the insulation. They had it done in no time. I've been enjoying the fruits of their labor since then. The temperature in my house is much more constant, and my AC unit is feeling like it's gone into retirement!
Description of Work: Removed old cardboard from my attic that had been used for insulation for years, and blew in insulation.

+ -1 moreThey did very well. I did have some problems with them initially. I had to keep calling them and they wouldn't get back to me concerning the estimate and things like that. At first we wanted to do the phone insulation but then we changed our mind because we didn't think it was safe to do it on our already insulated phone. I asked for a different insulation using the regular type insulation. I had to call about 3-4 times and that part of it was frustrating. They came and did the work. They gave me an estimate before they did the work but it was not an accurate estimate. I told them after they did the work that they would have to give me a more accurate estimate. I have not heard from them since. I don't know how much they are going to charge because I haven't heard from them yet. They do good work and they do the work well. Their punctuality is good and they were very professional.
Description of Work: I used the service of Leo Jones Insulating Co Inc this week to do some additional insulation in our attic area.

+ -1 moreThe contractor came out within a week of our conversation, finished the job in one day, and we are happy with what he did. Moving everything away from the walls and out of exterior wall closets before they arrived was a chore. The process gets some dust on room contents, even if covered, which requires a final vacuuming/cleanup after the work is finished. We are having someone else do the cosmetics on the hole plugs in conjunction with some other interior work being done.
Description of Work: I discovered that the urea formaldehyde insulation installed in the second story walls of my house, built in 1978, had disappeared. I learned that use of this type of insulation had been abandoned in the early '80's. When I inquired about having an expanding foam insulation injected between the studs, the representative of this company cautioned that foam expansion might buckle the interior sheetrock. Instead, they blew loose fiberglass insulation between the studs around the complete perimeter of the second floor. This was done through 2" diameter holes drilled in the sheetrock, which they plugged after the insulation was blown in. (Additional inspection through the 2" holes, sometimes using a fiber optics scope, verified that the original insulation was almost nonexistent.) Patching up and repainting around the plugged holes will be a bit of a job, but having insulation in the walls will be worth it The upstairs AC unit is of course running less. The contractor did a good job and a good first-pass cleanup as he went from room to room.
