John is a very nice young man. He gave us a fair estimate and we chose him for the job. We did not know; however, that he is basically a one man show. He had his father in law help him remove the gutters because the house is 75 ft. long and the gutter continuous. After that, he did all the work by himself and it took a lot longer than we expected. He did take a few short cuts that my husband was not pleased with, but overall his work was good. Just don't expect any work to be done quickly if you are under a time constraint.

He did all the work to my satisfaction without me being there for over a week.

John was great to work with. He stayed on budget and kept us informed of the schedule and progress. He was here when he said he would be and let us know when he wasn't going to be here. We have hired John since then for other small projects and highly recommend him.

John did an excellent job in record time at a fair price. It was a small job but one that needed attention. It is hard to find someone to do small jobs and I appreciated John responding to my call.

Mr. Kauffman is a man of skill, integrity. He kept me updated as to where he was in the work and made sure I approved of each level of work. He is extremely patient, and will take his time to do the project right, and if for some reason (not skill related, but product related), something doesn't turn out as planned, he will return and solve the problem. I felt safe in giving him access to the house, even if no one was home. He is one of the warmest, most honest, most thoughtful, and most pleasant people I have met in many years. I will most certainly use him to do my other bathroom, and complete kitchen remodel. He stayed within the parameters of his original estimate.

He was on time and stopped the leak the first time. He was freindly and knowledgeable and I plan on using him again. It was a pleasure.

fabulous, i will always use kauffman for work, for tile workand laying a wood floor he was so accurate listened to what you wanted price was best of all contractors i talked with. Continually cleaned up after himself, worked in the rain under an umbrella.

He was very clean, courteous, and patient with us while working. My daughter works third shift and he managed to keep the noise level of repairs at a minimum, so that she could rest.

Mr Kauffman was very reliable and also cleaned up area at the end of each day he worked. We were very happy with his work.

I called Mr. Kauffman out to my residence to give an estimate on 2 different projects. I was interested in putting some built in book shelves in my living room on both sides of my fireplace and I was interested in removing and rebuilding a flowerbed/retaining wall on the front of my home. Mr. Kauffman came out, measured both projects, took my information and advised he would email me an estimate in a few days. However, I never heard back from Him. I assuming he was either not interested in doing either of the projects OR they were to difficult for Him to do. Regardless of the reason, I think it was very unprofessional to never contact me and let me know any further information. Being upfront and honest is the best scenario in my book and I would have respected him alot more if he would have just told me I can't do either of there projects. OR tell me whatever the reason I may never hear back from him. In my opinion I would not recommend hiring or even calling this contractor, because if your time is as valuable as mine then you really do not know if you will every hear back from Him.

He was professional and prompt. He got his estimate to me very quickly; it was an email and it was written professionally.

John is a very nice man and very conscientious about his work. He gave us a price and stuck with it only charging us labor for the extra work he had to do replacing the bad decking and roofing shingles. He does not charge by the hour but by the job. He does most of the work himself. He only had a helper when removing and replacing the gutters.

My overall experience has been bad, not only because I have repairs that I am anxious to get completed, but also because I had to take time off from work to meet him, and he never called me back. I didn't rate him an and quot;Fand quot; in any of the applicable categories simply because he was prompt in meeting me the first time. For that alone I bumped him up to a and quot;Dand quot;. Too bad, I had money in my pocket ready to pay him for his work, and when I met him he seemed professional and able to handle my issues. I can only assume the job was too small for him, but at this time I can only assume because I haven't heard back from him. I hold no grudge, and if he reads this and simply replies back to me with an estimate, as he promised, I would be willing to adjust this review - even if I decide not to hire him. However, at this time I can rate him no better than a and quot;Dand quot; due to his lack of response. UPDATE 3/25/12 - Mr. Kauffman has replied back to me with his explanation of why he was late with his estimate, his apology, and with his estimate. Since this is all I was looking for at this time, I will adjust my review...

Quick response with estimate, did have to re-schedule because of weather delay on other jobs, but still finished in timely manner.

He came out and worked on my roof and gutters for three days. The price was great and the work was quality. I had a tree that had fallen into my house and he came to fix the roof and repair some gutters.

Everything worked out really well. I would give them the highest ratings across the board. We have every intention of using them again.

The job went very well, he ran into a little problem getting the old tile off, which cost him an half day. After that it went smoothly. He did have a proble installing the new shower fawcet. The cold and hot were backwards and the instructions did not clarify on installation. Therefore you had a 50/50 chance of insalling it correctly. Unfortunitly it was backwards and it took him until several weeks to get back out to me to fix it. I understood the reasoning for the delay, and gave him time. Several times that I called, he would be out later or would call me back the next day. Unfortunately he did not, this was the only time he didn't. Which I understood due to his next job was having issues. The shower still worked and for the quality of work was NOT a deal breaker. I plan on using him again. I have shown pictures of the finished work and recieved beautiful remarks on the craftmanship that he did. He is very Professional and does quality work.

They were informative and timely in getting the estimate back to me. They gave me exactly what I asked for. They were on time. They were prepared and knowledgeable.

We found John here on Angie's list and boy are we glad we did! John is professional, prompt and very detailed about his work. From the very beginning we liked John. He worked with us seamlessly, starting with a free estimate, all the way through the finished product. I cannot say enough good things about John. I will definitely be hiring him again to remodel more of my home!
