Could have used a little more sanding but overall a very good job.

It was upkeep and when I first had it done it was about $139. They were on time and did a great job. The last time they were here to do some work I wasn?t here, so I had no interaction with the person. The came, did their job, it looks nice and I have never had any problems with it.

They did a fantastic job. Becky was sweet and pleasant.

Les spent almost 11 hours refinishing our large (almost 10 foot) outside door. The work was complicated due to a "farm door" pattern where much of the door was overlayed with additional pieces of wood, so a lot of the sanding had to be done by hand. He was very informative about the door, its history, and what could be done to protect it in the future. I highly recommend their services, including yearly maintenance, which I plan to do to keep the door in exellent shape. They couldn't have done a better, more professional job!

Refinishing the door took 12 hours from start to finish-accomplished in a single day. The refinisher came to our home early in the morning, a few minutes ahead of schedule. Reviewed the work that was to be done, stripped the wood surface, restained it and sealed it. It was necessary to put a tarp over the door to keep our AC air from leaking outdoors. The stain and sealant had to dry for intervals, when it was necessary for someone to be home for safety reasons.

Found the company through Angie's List and then checked the BBB for information on the company. Also made certain that this contractor was insured and the employees were in the USA legally and spoke English fluently. This company is not bonded, but they are insured. Current insurance certificate was promptly faxed by the office manager of the firm to me prior to the start of work. Very polite, professional and prompt craftsmen. The craftsmen (Two came. One to do the weather stripping on one day and another to do the refinishing on the second day.) were very good at their business. Absolutely NO MESS was made in my house or outside the house. To be honest I was horrified to think the refinishing was going to be done with the door on the house. During the refinishing process there was some odor, but a fan was used to blow the vapors outside while the work was taking place. Not pleasant of course the situation was tolerable. My front doorway was covered with plastic the whole time until the door dried. The refinishing started shortly after 8:00 a.m. and I closed my door at 10:00 p.m. Could have shut it sooner (8:00 p.m.) according to the craftsman, but it was a nice evening and I just left the plastic sheeting on until I went to bed. The door looks new frankly. This company offers an exterior door maintenance program and I am going to participate in that program. They do the work with the door closed and it keeps it in good condition. The one thing that could have been better is the communication of the estimate for all the entire scope of work. I had called and asked about refinishing my door. The young man on the phone was new to the company (office manager was sick) and he told me the price for all the work was a little less than $200.00. He failed to make it clear that this was the price for the door adjustment and weather stripping and that the refinishing was an additional ~ $380.00. (Interior door adjustment was ~ $50.00) So I was a might shocked to find that out after the craftsman finished the weather stripping and informed me that the $200.00 was just to cover the weather stripping and front door adjustment. Do not misunderstand, I am pleased with the work, but I would have like to have had the total estimate for all the scope of work BEFORE they started.... not find out in the middle of the work what the total bill was going to be. I feel this was a normal glitch that happens when the main office manager is out and a new person is manning the office. To put the total cost of this job in perspective: 1) Mahogany (solid) doors are almost impossible to find any longer. 2) If you find them, you are going to pay >> $1000 unfinished, no hardware and uninstalled. So...this company helped me bring back to life my front door for the fraction of what a new one costs.

Called and made appointment within 1 1/2 wks of call. Nick arrived promptly at 8:00am and had the work finished as promised by mid-afternoon. Varnish dried enough that there was no sticking when we closed the door as directed at 9:00pm that night. Door looks brand new. We signed up for the automatic maintenance program to keep them looking great.

Made an appointment through Dawn at their home office. She went through the various options I had from a full stain and refinish to a maintenance refinish. Their website helped in the decision. We scheduled an appointment for Easter Sunday (my choice) and he arrived at precisely the time promised. The job was done by early afternoon. The door never left the hinges. They covered the front with a plastic tarp. Despite a heavy thunderstorm, the job got finished on time without any rain getting in. I did have to leave the door open (with the tarp on) until 8pm. The door looks great. I've even signed on for their ongoing maintenance program.

Previously the doors had been refinished by a painting company. The previous job was not professional and had left scratches in the wood. Don with Door Refinishing was able to repair these scratches and the finished product and stain was excellent. Door Refinishing also has a maintenance service which they provide. This is not a prepaid contract, but is a reminder card. Don told me several do's and don'ts about care of the doors and what to look for in calling for maintenance.

They were very timely and did quality work. They came out when they said they were going to. The workers were friendly and professional. I would hire them again.

The Door Refinishing Company came out a few years ago and completely refinished our front, west facing, door. They did a fantastic job. They had to completely refinish it because I didn't call for a maintenance service before the door was too far gone. After the complete job they told me about an automatic maintenance service. Every 8 months they let us know that it's time to maintain the door. Then they come out sometime in that month. Since it's maintenance only, they don't need us home or an open door. They just leave us an invoice when they leave. Our door always looks great! By having them come automatically, I don't have to suffer from my procrastination in calling them.

We're on the auto maintenance program, so we never have to call and schedule the appointment. Instead, we get a reminder in the mail when it's time for maintenance. It's usually done within 2 weeks after receiving the reminder and the invoice is taped to the glass on the front door. The door always looks brand new once the maintenance is completed.

Over all, our door looks new again, and he did an excellent job. We are very please with his work, professionalism, and his explanations of what was being done.

Joe was knowledgeable and professional. He was prompt each time he came. He didn't take short-cuts that many carpenters take, but took time to do the extra steps that make it better. He deserves to be proud of his work because he does it right. He took all day to get the door in as it should be. He worked quietly and he totally cleaned up before he left. I have already recommended him to a couple of neighbors and would not have a doubt that he will do a good job.

Our initial contact with Door Refinishing came about a month before the work was done. In a phone conversation with Dawn Price we learned about the step-by-step process they use to refresh doors that have suffered the ravages of sun and weather exposure. Their website added more information and showed pictures of some of their successful transformations. The day before the agreed appointment, they called to confirm that they would be coming. On the appointed day, Don Price arrived a few minutes early to make sure he was on time. He prepared the area for work with appropriate floor covering and masked where needed, to keep the finishes within the boundaries of the target area. The door was stripped, sanded, stained and finished with three clear top coats. The job started at 8:00 AM and was completed by 2:00 PM. By 8:00 PM (at sunset), drying is complete enough to close the door. Cleanup was complete and thorough.

Don Price stripped the finish of a 10-foot wooden exterior door, applied a new stain, and three coats of exterior gloss finish. Badly weathered door likes like new! Easy to contact and arrange for an appointment. They work 7 days a week, and our door was done on a Sunday - very convenient for us. Very friendly and professional! Price is quite competitive for the work done. Excellent job! Highly recommend them for this type of job.

This was a fabulous experience, completely fabulous. Dawn knows her doors. She's intelligent, motivated, and very meticulous. WOW. I can't say enough good things about her. If you want your door done for what I consider to be a VERY REASONABLE cost, then call. This is all she does, so she's got very high task-specific experience. I have already recommended her to many of my friends who have wood front doors.

I have a 3/4 glass wood front door that I needed to have the varnish redone on for maintenance. I called and was quoted price of $89.95 with appointment. It took a few days for them to get back with me to set appointment, but when they called they came the same day. My door frame is stained to match my front door, the technician stained the door and frame. I thought the frame was considered to be a part of the door but obviously it is not; there was an additional charge of $45 to stain the frame. At the time I looked at my door and frame as one unit because it is stained the same, but I understand now they are separate. A learning experience for me. Overall I am pleased with the work done.

When I called about having my door refinished, a very friendly and knowledgeable employee gave me detailed information on full door refinishing and the maintenance program, what was involved with each, as well as the prices for all the services available. We decided on joining the maintenance program, and we were quickly put on the schedule. About a week later a tech showed up and performed the work on our front door. He worked quickly but did an excellent job. Our door looks as good as new, just in time for the holidays. The tech left the bill and a return envelope on the door for payment. And, we're already scheduled for our next maintenance in April, 2007.
