Seek Design & Renovation

Seek is a very professional and experienced design and construction company. Their costs were mid-range of the companies we interviewed. One reason we selected Seek is that the project manager / designer understood what we wanted and brought samples and suggestions to achieve the look we wanted during the design phase. It took a little longer than we anticipated to get the project started, but in hindsight it was worth it. They scheduled to have materials on-site and the preferred sub-contractors available so that our project could be completed seamlessly and efficiently once it did start. The subcontractors were all top quality, punctual and cordial. On one occasion they worked late into the evening - with our permission of course - we basically got up early and let them work the hours they could each day without interruption. In fact the construction phase of our project lasted just over a week which was greatly appreciated!! NOTE: We thought it would take much longer to complete based on our experience with past remodeling projects of this size. Seek exceeded our expectations on timing and quality of finished product .We are extremely happy with our new fireplace, stone wall and lighting and the modern look it gives our living room. It is exactly what we wanted and we receive compliments on it all the time. We give top marks to Seek and look forward to hiring them again on future projects.

Jacob suggested a great solution for the difficult edge on my floor, he communicated the time frame involved in the work and actually completed it early. His sub-contractors spoke very highly of him which is a positive for a customer. The work was very well done with attention to detail and consideration of my wants. I highly recommend Seek Design and Renovation because of their quality of work, professionalism, attention to detail, supportive decision making, familiarity with the entire job and details each step entailed.

I called last week to get an estimate for today at 1pm. Don then calls me today to inform me that he can't make it out because he has other jobs that need his attention. I took off work just to be available for this and it all goes to waste. He offered to reschedule but that means I have to take off work again to make this estimate happen. This is truly unprofessional and I would at least give the customer 24 hours of notice for a cancelation.

Jacob, SDR, and their sub contractors were always punctual and professional. They worked quickly when they were here and didn't waste any time getting things done. Demo and removal of the glass went flawlessly. After that there was a delay while we picked out the tile from their supplier. Once everything was decided on the tile, everything continued smoothly and efficiently. We only had one small issue with some dirty footprints in the carpet, but Jacob came right out and cleaned it up without any fuss. We'll look to use them in the future for any small projects around the house.

Seek Design & Renovation was very punctual, Informative, professional and were very effective in communicating with me. The exterior of my home has never looked better and I have gotten many compliments from my neighbors. I would hire them for other work on my home in a New York minute. In fact because of their excellent work several of my neighbors have contacted them for painting services for their homes as well. I am also looking to have them install new tile flooring in my home.

I am extremely pleased with the job Seek Design & Renovation did. They worked very efficiently and replaced my roof in a timely manner. The crew was very punctual, experienced and knowledgeable. I will hire them again for any other exterior projects that I have. I will definitely recommend Seek Design & Renovation to all of my friends and family.

Estimate took a while to get back to us and in the end we did not use

Immediate response. Seemed interested in our job, had great ideas. Then we had to contact them a few times while waiting on estimate. We kept getting told they were waiting on their busy framer, but no reason given why we were not given sketches. They said they really wanted the job but we are now half a week away from one month since initial contact and never even received an ESTIMATE! This put our other projects behind schedule. We feel it wasn't a big enough job to be a priority to them. Not sure why they wasted our time instead of just being upfront so we could hire someone else.

Jacob from Seek Design was our main contact. He was punctual and easy to communicate with. We were very satisfied with the quality of work.

Very well....The Seek Design Group were prompt, cheerful, courteous and paid attention to details. Seek Design definitely takes pride in their work . The owner was on site most every day ..if he was not he was in contact with workers continually. If I had any questions or issues my calls were returned, answered and taken care of promptly. I would definitely use them again. As we all know renovating can be quite stressful...it is such a pleasure to work with people who get you ..who listen to you and want to make you happy. I chose to work with Seek Design & Renovation because they were personable and genuine - not just because they had excellent reviews. The Seek team were professional and highly responsive to my questions and concerns. These qualities remained consistent throughout the project and I appreciated how kind they were to my children (I am a stay-at-home mom). I was very impressed with the level of quality in their cabinet-making, granite and frameless shower door installations. The plumbing and electrical work was done with proficiency and expertise. The tile team did professional work, I am very happy with the end result, unfortunately they were not always punctual. I was least happy with the painting and drywall repair. I would say it was average at best. I think this was the individual and that is why I kept the ratings at an "A" level. Overall, I am very happy with how the kitchen and bath turned out. They transformed my vision of what I wanted into a reality. I can't thank them enough for all the hard work they put in. A few of things that I would change about the job... We spent quite a bit more than the original quote we received. Over half the added cost was our doing as we upgraded our tile, granite and put in a free-standing tub. However, knowing some of the other extra costs in advance would have given me a greater peace of mind along the way. For example, we were quoted a cost for knocking down a wall, but nothing was mentioned about the wall repair afterwards. I would have appreciated a notation stating that there would be another cost for repairing the wall. Another example is that the original quote did not include replacing the trim pieces (read quarter round/shoe molding) after the new tile was in place. Once again, I assumed that this cost was included in replacing the tile. Also, I would have loved to have a breakdown of cost per square foot for ceramic versus stone versus marble tile, as well as extra costs for unique tile patterns. As this is my first remodel, I was unaware of the difference in tile costs and might have chosen differently had I had that information at the start. In the future, I will ask lots of questions before starting a project, I don't think I asked enough on this one - I learned everything along the way. Finally, we had one hiccup in the project. We asked to have our kitchen island stained rather than painted. Unfortunately, the stain job did not meet our expectations. We expressed our concern and it was taken care of the very next day. Now the color is perfect! Thank you Seek Design & Renovation for an incredible job well done!

Job completed by the date promised. Generally happy with the end product.

The process started with a very informative initial consultation that included extensive back and forth dialogue to match our vision of the project to the practicalities of the situation and the capabilities of the team. There was significant and extremely helpful communication all along the way from all members of the team that resulted in a final product that brought our vision to life. The team did an excellent job of meeting and dealing with the unexpected challenges that are so common to a project like this. We had many questions during the entire process and made changes to various components and the team always gave quick, positive, helpful responses. We found the design skills of the team very helpful. They were very detail oriented to the point of accompanying us to the tile retailer and assisting with paint and color co-ordination. Overall this was a very positive experience for us and we are extremely pleased with the outcome.

Don at Seek Design & Renovation did a wonderful job! When we purchased our house in December, 2014, we didn't notice that the premanufactured corner shower in a guest bathroom had a crack in the floor pan. We got a quote from a handyman to furnish and install a new premanufactured shower, although that wasn't really our preference. The handyman's quote was higher than I expected, so I called Don at Seek to give us a quote on building a tiled shower. Much to my surprise, the price was quite reasonable, although still more than we were prepared to spend. Since Don provided an itemized quote, I was quickly able to determine that much of the cost was in the glass. We had asked Don to quote building us a pony wall (partial height wall) with glass above it and a glass door on the front of the shower. So, I asked Don to requote with a full height drywall wall and no glass door on the front (we are using a shower curtain). Don was very accommodating and quickly sent us a new quote, which was just a couple hundred dollars more than the handyman had quoted us to install a premanufactured shower. We now have a beautiful tiled corner shower in our guest bathroom. Thanks to Don and his team for a wonderful experience!

Seek Design & Renovation came over soon after I contacted him and did a very detailed quote - the most detailed quote that I received of all the contractors I worked with in my new house. He had all the square footage measured exactly. He doesn't buy materials (except the shower door), just charges for labor. But he helps advise you on exactly what to buy and where to buy it - which was helpful for us first time remodelers. There was a slight delay in the start of the project due to one of his other projects being delayed, but he always kept me informed of the schedule. Once they started, they were always prompt and worked quickly. The tilers even stayed pretty late one day to finish all the tiling. Seek Design & Renovation always called to ask us questions to make sure they didn't do anything we weren't aware of. There was one line of the contract that I misunderstood with regards to what was included, but they helped explain it to me and even threw the extra work in for free since I was upset about it. They are very thorough, prompt, and hardworking. If you want a job done well and thoroughly, go with this company.

Seek Design & Renovation is an absolute dream to work with. The staff is friendly, professional and polite! We had an issue with water damage in our kitchen that caused damage to the cabinets, drywall and insulation. When we called Seek Design & Renovation to see if they would be able to come out and provide a proposal, they answered right away and got us on the schedule within a few days. They explained the entire process in great detail. You will know exactly what will take place, how it will take place and what the finished project will look like. When we called to schedule the work, they worked extremely hard to get us on the schedule asap so that we would have the use of our kitchen back as fast as possible. The crew worked fast, efficiently and cleanly. They left our kitchen clean and the cabinets looking even better than they did before they replaced the insides and boxes. When we had any questions and/or concerns Seek Design & Renovation answered our calls right away or returned them within the hour. They are so kind and willing to make sure that you not only feel comfortable with how everything is proceeding and what needs to be done, but with the entire process. As I know we have said, we absolutely could not be happier with our experience and the finished product. We highly recommend them for any renovation or project anyone may have.

I contacted them and they promptly called me back. Mr. Prine came out to give us an estimate, emailed it to me that evening. We chose to have them do the work, but because of the month of rain the work was delayed. I was pleased that we received two calls during the rainy days letting us know that they had not forgotten us, but would be out to do the work as soon as possible. The patio was done in two half day work sessions-one afternoon to dig out the area, frame it and install rebar; the second to pour the concrete and finish the slab. It looks great. The workers were polite, did a good job and cleaned up the mess afterwards. Everyone I dealt with was professional and answered any questions we had.

I could not be more pleased with the outcome, nor the communication before, during and after the renovation. Our new master bath is gorgeous and one of a kind. Seek Design and Renovations was incredibly professional throughout, and showed us that they truly cared about us as people. The entire project took about two weeks, and this company made sure that they cleaned up daily so that we could continue to live comfortably in our home. We made a couple of change order requests during the process and Seek Design and Renovations was flexible and fair. Their attention to detail was beyond my expectations to the point that the company actually added to my finishing punch list with items that I didn’t even notice myself. I know that we will enjoy this new bathroom for many years to come, and will use Seek Design and Renovations again, and recommend them to my friends and family as well. It should also be mentioned that while we were out of town for Easter Sunday this company finished the project, and surprised us by leaving fresh flowers and décor for us to come home to. Amazing job!

I took time off from work to meet with the representative only to have him cancel a few minutes before the set appointment time. He said he would call back later that day to reschedule but I never heard back from him.

Seek Design was contracted to completely redo the bathroom and replace the bathroom's original tub with a shower. We are very pleased with the work they did. Jacob, the project manager, kept us well informed of each day's work. As with every remodel there are surprises that come up. Each unexpected event was discussed, options explained and implemented in a timely manner. If I could give Jacob an "A+" on the scale for responsiveness, I would. We will be using Seek Design again for other house projects in the near future.

We were very please with Seek Design and Renovation. They were always punctual and kept me informed every step of the way. I have gone through other renos with different contracts and Seek Design is by far the best company we have used. They did a great job and I would certainly use them again. I reached out to Seek Design and Renovation after finding their ad in the Angie's List magazine. I first left a message on their website and then called the next day and left a voicemail. I did not get a response back from either message. I want to work with someone who tries to earn my business and not make me beg for it.

Great craftsmanship, especially with the slab and brick work. Work was completed in a timely manner. Construction team was courteous. We hit a few bumps and snags, but Don was quick to make things right. Seek Design was not our least expensive quote, but you get what you pay for.

Seek Design & Renovation did a FABULOUS job on the built in cabinet for our formal living room. It is exactly what we wanted. During the construction, I had a lot of questions regarding number of doors and number of shelves that worked best in our room. They took the time to make different options so that I could see what the each result would look like. And they did all of this on while staying on schedule! They were very diligent about keeping the space clean and free of debris. I have little kids, so that was really important to me. While they were here, we even had them redo some other cabinet doors in our home to match the new cabinet. We got quotes from other contractors and found Seek Design & Renovation to be very competitive. We have already recommended them to our neighbors!
