They are excellent.

Mike is an excellent plumber. I never worry that something has not been done exactly right. But expect to pay full price for this level of quality - Mike is expensive and since he works without a helper, somewhat slower than others. I also appreciate that if he can't get to a repair job quickly, he will refer me to another plumber. He's dependable and pleasant to deal with.

Mike Bates is a true professional. Very thoughtful and concerned about the mess he could make. He put down tarps over all the path to the work space, used an exhaust fan blow out dust created by the demolition. He always suggested options we might want to consider, assisted with finding out of production hardware. His "comfort height" toilet suggestion was excellent. I had no idea what a difference a toilet 2 inches higher could make, even for my wife who is 5'3". I have used Harvard Plumbing a few times before over the last couple years. In fact, I can't remember who suggested him, but it was good advice. From faucet leaks, to faucet replacement, to an underground leak on our side of the meter, Mike does the job on time and for a reasonable price. He went to great effort to diagnose the cause of my 20-year intermittent shower leak. I can't say for sure, but the job he did seemed truly first rate and structurally sound. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if this shower survived longer than the rest of the house! Only negative. Mike used "Home Improvements by Jose Ortiz" aka Lupe Ortiz aka Ortiz Painting and Drywall for the tile work. My advice to anyone else: If he says he is going to bring them in, just say no and get your own tile guy. See my separate review of this tile guy. I have suggested to Mike that he find a new ceramic tile person, and he is waiting to hear from me about the company I hired to finish the job I couldn't afford to let Lupe Ortiz do!

Dave came to our home and immediately detected the problem within several minutes. Boom -- it was fixed! No problems at all since his visit! While he was here, I had him look at all of our toilets to make sure they were working properly. He replaced fill valves and flappers in 3 toilets. 1 toilet he replaced a flapper that another plumber had installed incorrectly with the wrong size. This toilet ran constantly and was annoying. Another toilet he replaced the flush valve and tank belts. Altogether, he worked on 5 toilets and replaced parts on each of them. He was at our house over two hours and did a very, very good job! No whining pipes or running toilets since his visit! My husband and I were very pleased with his professionalism, his polite yet kind demeanor, and overall his knowledge in plumbing!

This was the first time I have used his services. It was a little hard to get ahold of him but once he called he came the next day. He called again before he came over. He did a tidy job and left everything looking better than it did when he came. I am having him back for more work.

Michael scheduled the service call as quickly as possible. Examined the drain and found it was obstructed about 60 feet from the house. Cleared drain and left no mess.
