Outstanding work

The original goal of our bathroom project was to do something about the shower glass that had permanent hazing, and the metal frame, where the bottom parts had slowly deteriorated over time. This is connected in typical fashion to tub via a pony wall. My primary interest was installing Shower Guard glass, which comes with a lifetime warranty to not haze over time. Once into the quotes, I realized that just putting in the new glass was not going to solve all the issues. The grout on the shower walls was also starting to form small holes, and signs of "perma mold" we're starting. That's when I considered just re-doing the entire tiled area. My other goal was to preserve the existing floor tile, as that was still in good shape. Bath Kitchen Pros came over and proposed pulling out the whole shower, and taking all the walls out, together with the shower base. Then installing a very waterproof solution, using hardy plank, and extending the size of tiled area using acrylic tile material. At first I was a bit skeptical about the acrylic tile, but now that it's completed I'm quite happy with that choice. The shower gets used quite a bit, and I like the fact that the new material has antibacterial properties. The goal was not only something that would look nice, but stay looking nice after thousands of uses - and I believe that target was achieved. The working crew, was quite dedicated and very professional. I was very concerned that other parts of the house would not be affected by the construction. They took measures to protect all flooring and furniture. This seemed to be a daily ritual for them, as they taped down paper on floor tile, covered carpet with tarps, and made sure plastic sheeting was over my bed and other bedroom furniture - every day of the construction. They demo'd all the old shower, and cut out the old tile and wall material, and replaced the existing walls. From there all new tile, shower fixture, pony wall, and shelf insert were installed. After all this work was completed, another crew came out (two weeks later) to install the Shower Guard, which had to be custom fitted (thus the wait). At the end, we were quire impressed with how the final product came out. It truly is a solid, practical, and great looking modification to the bathroom. The first impression, is high quality. I should mention, that in the beginning I was not sure about what I was getting for the price, but in this case you get what you pay for. We have a lot of expectations that go beyond just getting a new shower, and all of these were met. One final note to mention are the communications, and quality support. I should mention that someone was always there to answer questions, and my dealings were always on a positive note. We did have one small plumbing issue after completion (a small drip), and someone was out the next day to correct this.

Design help was provided and a plan developed. We were introduced to the contractor and we agreed a work schedule ... he would work until late when able as once started on a job he liked to work through. This meant some late nights 9-30pm on occassion by prior arrangement which was fine by us!! We were invited to review the work as it progressed so we could see the change develop and also address any little questions on what we preferred for light positions etc. The floors were covered to prevent wear and tear and plastic sheeting was placed throughout the bedroom to prevent mess from dust etc. Great care exhibited at all times and consideration was given for us still living there. Project was completed ahead of schedule and handed over to us ready to use. We did identify a few kinks and these were corrected within a day with the help of the ever efficient AJ. Communication from AJ and Mitchell was excellent. We never lacked for information on where things stood and what progress they had made. Excellent customer service, excellent contractors - what more could you ask for??!!!
